Re: Random: Nintendo Customer Service Wins The Day With Sweet Response To Young Pokémon Fan

Low_ink

This comment is edited. And for good reason. You see, I made a comment here like everyone else. I started by talking about Pokemon, and then shifted to speaking of the real topic here. I followed every site rule. I was polite. But I didn't hide my views. Unfortunately people don't like opposing views.

A large portion of my comment involved things that are politically correct. Here's a quote: 'people can do what they want'. I was nice. I was loving. I did everything I should've. But unfortunately, on this site, and many others, people really can't. People aren't allowed to have a different mindset than what some consider correct. Even if you follow every stated rule, well you'll still get a big portion of what you said taken away.

My comment got 8 likes. Quite a few for being so far down, and yet, I find something strange about it. I know for a fact, that my comment would have much less, maybe not even one, if it wasn't edited by the moderators. This comment right here, by the time you're reading it, might be edited. I can't say for certain. But regardless, I'm saving the original this time.

As an American, I can tell you that this is the opposite of free speech. This is people pushing an agenda, and regardless of whether or not you agree with it, not letting anyone else have even slightly different opinions. Heck, the only reason why this has so many comments, is because they removed simple jokes. I may like this site for Nintendo stuff, but it clearly doesn't want people to keep using it. Thank you for this frustration, and showing that the only allowed opinions here are the ones dictated by those with the power to change anything and everything people do here.

Another edit. I'm leaving the site. And I don't plan on really coming back too soon. I'll be missing Kate's articles, Crab Thursday, and many of the people here. But I have to leave. I'm not wanted here, and it frankly wouldn't be the same. See you quite possibly never again, Low_ink.

Re: Talking Point: Why Metroid Dread Will Be Worth $60

Low_ink

@Octane I agree about certain games being bloated its just... Well, I can't afford every game I want. But I also like playing different games. I wanted New Pokemon Snap, but it didn't even take 10 hours to beat. I can't justify that. Not when I can buy a different game that lasts much longer than that for the same price.

I don't think outright denying yourself a game because of time makes sense though, after all, if you really want a game, well, you'll be buying it! I just can't afford to do that with every game I want.

Development time and money ranges for every game, and yet most of them stay at $60. 3d games generally have a lot less innovation than 2d ones, which is because people are more creative when under limitations. Yes most 3d games take more development time than 2d ones, but most people don't make that argument when complaining about 2d prices. Instead they just make some stupid remark about how '3d games are so much better', completely ignoring the fact that they are wanting to play a 2d game. Those types of people are frustrating.

I have no clue if this really has much to do with Dread though, after all, I don't know how long or good it is. As for Tropical Freeze, well, I don't own it. I know it's a great game. I've just heard that it only takes ~20 hours to 100%. Mostly for me, whether or not I buy a game really just depends on time / money. I wish it wasn't this way, but it is. I hope that eventually I don't have to worry about this sort of thing, but right now I do.

Re: Talking Point: Why Metroid Dread Will Be Worth $60

For me, it all comes down to time. If I pay $60 for a game that lasts 20 hours, I find it to be a bad deal. I have to work hours for the money to buy games, so some games I can't buy because, even if I 100% them, they're far too short. So that's ultimately what it comes down to for me, if the game is good, and if I can get a ratio of 1 dollar to 1 hour of play time. Saying it's worth less because it's 2d is very flawed reasoning,

Re: The E3 2021 Awards Winners Are In, But Nintendo Lost Out

Low_ink

I strongly disagree with their conclusions. But this IS a nintendo site, so most opinions here will be biased for them anyway. I would've given the most anticipated title to Metroid Dread honestly. 1 it's coming out this year. 2 it's an entirely new 2d Metroid, something which hasn't happened in 19 years. 3 It finishes what the other games started, which is really impressive after so long. And 4 that trailer was very hype, I don't see how you couldn't be wanting to play it after that!

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Nintendo Direct At E3 2021?

@Ibasco29021I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or making fun of me lol. I'll assume it's the latter. I loved this direct because there was so many good games, with a few being newly announced.

We're getting a new 2d Metroid in 4 months. A new Wario Ware. A new Mario + Rabbids. A release date for Shin Megami Tensei V. We're getting a new Game and Watch, too! All that among other things.

We even got an update on BoTW2. It doesn't release this year, but we all know that's because of covid and Japan.

How did you dislike this? There was lots of first party games, and some great third party games too. It's good to discuss these things, so I can know why some people didn't enjoy what I did. But joking about it doesn't add to the conversation. So, if you will, please just tell me why you hated the direct. I would like to know.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda

Low_ink

I think I'll buy this one on Amazon. I quickly preordered the first, but seeing as they're still in stores I know I can wait a bit. I'm excited about this little thing though! I wouldn't even be against a Game and Watch collection pack on a Game and Watch!

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Nintendo Direct At E3 2021?

It was great! I loved the BoTW2 teaser, and knowing it's coming next year at least helps the wondering.
The Game and Watch was a wonderful reveal, as I never thought it would happen, but always wanted it. Good to see they included more games than just one, too.
The Metroid reveal was wonderful, even if I don't think I'll get it.

All the other games were great too! Even if they weren't all for me, I think there was lots of great announcements. 10/10
