One guy who is probably the most excited about Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is the creative director David Soliani.
As you might recall, he's the one who was crying tears of joy when his original Mario + Rabbids game was introduced by Shigeru Miyamoto at E3 2017.
Of course, he's just as happy to have been given the opportunity to make a sequel - revealing in a developer interview that it's been the players motivating the team the whole time.
"I hope this will be an incredible journey for them [players] as it's been for me and the team"
As part of this, Soliani has taken to social media to ask Mario + Rabbids fans their initial thoughts about what they saw during Ubisoft's E3 presentation.
So, what do you think? Did you enjoy the sneak peek? Leave your thoughts down below.

Had there not been a leak, I would've been extremely surprised. I didn't expect this game to come at all, let alone the first game.
I'm glad they are taking more risks with this one. I'm tired of the generic Mushroom Kingdom settings.
So far looks good. 🤗
Looked good, to me. My opinion doesn't matter any more than anyone else's, though.
Love it. Bigger scope, hopefully much longer game.
I loved the first! But I don’t know how I feel about the gameplay changes, I’ll have to see. The encounters instead of levels and the free movement, I’m not sure I’m a fan of that yet. Gonna have to see more
It’s fine, Mr. Soliani
I think people are really excited for the sequel to this game. I am too. I will get the first game when I have a chance
When I am first introduced to new gameplay structures, I become overwhelmed. As a huge fan of the first game I am just saying, that the new developments are scary, but I am super excited to learn them and what the game is trying to teach me.
The graphics and concept are better than I could have ever expected and I'm so happy that it even exists!!!!
@ModdedInkling lmao,if there was no leak I would not have watched this presentation
Looks amazing so far
two words for you, Day one!
heck yes, interesting to see the edgier design, a sign that they really want to try mario universe in a different direction that i also hope will pay off
@IronMan30 at the same time, your opinion matters as much as anyone else's!
I thought it looked great. I was pretty bad at the first game tbh
Looks good, I like that enemies run into you to activate a battle, rpg-like
I really like the new gameplay of the Mario & Rabbids sub-series. I prefer it over the previous one.
It looks great! I am really looking forward to this game, and I hope the whole team feels accomplished about what they've done!
We lost Yoshi and Rabbid Yoshi, but gained bored Rabbid Rosalina and punky goth Rabbid Girl.
I'm excited.
The concept isn't as novel now as it was when the first game was revealed, but I'm still excited to see how far they push the boundaries of Mario.
The more strange Nintendo crossovers we get, or Nintendo crossovers period for that matter, the better, I say!
Only problem with it is that it caused this to exist

I need to play this...please. Also please let dabbing luigi return
Day one...Day zero even better
The first one was really good. This one looks a lot inferior in visuals of scenarios than the first one right now, but yet have time till release, so probably will reach similar quality.
Yes, you are good! So far it looks really sweet. I have yet to finish the first one though. From what I have played I liked it a lot, but its also pretty hard (the monolith Rabbids come to mind).
Played the first one and it was better than I expected. I’m just not a fan of these type of games. It will do well though.
The sequel looks great. I am glad there is a sequel to continue the universe. The last one just kind of ended and I was not sure if they merger was permanent or not.
It's exciting to think of playing a sci fi mario rabbids xcom game! I like the first game and I'm sure I'll enjoy this one too.
I am very happy and I am so glad they got rid of the grid battle system. I really never liked it. I cannot wait for this fantastic game. it will be worth the wait.
Im Hyped about this game!
@nitrolink it’s a sequel so. It as much risk as a major new AAA IP. 😏
Looks good! The first one was very fun but challanging. And this is the closest we're getting to a Mario RPG right now.
I’m glad for everyone who loves this game to get a sequel, but this type of game just isn’t for me. Played the first one for long enough to realize that and then sold my copy.
It looks amazing. I'm all in.
Aww, how adorable…
I did wonder if there would be a sequel, happy to see that there is one!
Davide is clearly the sort of person that has an immense passion for what they do. I really enjoyed the fist game and the dlc, and I have faith in the team that the sequel is going to be great too.
Galaxy is my second favourite game ever and the first M+R was one of my favourite games on switch! Yeah, I'm all good!
Looks good, can't wait, it's top of my to buy list.
Hope it's January 2022.
While I still need a round-up of every Ubisoft announcement there, I thought this game looked really epic Basically, it's Mario + Rabbids IN SPACE!!!
Also, Rabbid Rosalina..
We're supercallifragillistic explialledocious. Or however that's written.
Loved the first. Loved the dlc. Love the music.
Will love the sequel too
Not my type of game but looks ok. Tho with Ubisoft behind it, it will be in every sale from the word go!
The only Ubisoft game in the presentation I'm remotely interested in. Loved the original Mario & Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, so this one's on my Wish List.
The only criticism I would offer is that narration in the gameplay trailer that gives a needless play-by-play of EVERY. SINGLE. THING. the viewer can plainly see happening onscreen.
I'm super thrilled about this. The first one is one of the best exclusives on the Switch
Well I liked the first one a lot (my youngest did as well) & I am actually glad they are shaking up the gameplay for the second. With all the DLC & repeated play we played the first one's gameplay infrastructure a lot so would be interested in something a bit diff with thos great game
The guys dream has come true twice.
@Mr_Humpf what HE does. He's not one of those gender neutrals mate. But otherwise yeah i agree looks like a good game.
It looks good but where is Daisy/Rabbid Daisy? I remember them saying that she was requested. Must have opted for Rabbid Rosalina and space instead. But what about that goth girl who looks to be an original character?
Very excited. This was a huge news.
More excited than I expected to be. Looks really good
Hey I’m cool with it because Luigi rabbis comes back
Its' been by far the best thing revealed at E3 for me.
I need to finish the first one…. But it’s cool that this is coming out…..
According to the insiders, this is a Switch Pro game.
Not sure it’s the type of game that warrants a surprise announcement. There are some Nintendo fans that will be happy. But the gaming world overall will shrug.
@WOLF13 EXACTLY.
I'll likely play it. I WAS overly hard on the initial reveal of the first game. I just REALLY didn't realize it was going to be a really cool strategy game. Like...come on, who was honestly expecting the game to go anywhere near that direction? I'll absolutely give this one a go too...
@Donutsavant
That's a fair point. No one would expect a Nintendo Switch exclusive in a different presentation..... looking at Square-Enix in 2019
@Entrr_username hahaha oh g master race is upset!
Looks amazing so far. Hoping it's a bit more "open" and that they can manage to do away with the grid while keeping most of the other mechanics.
I like the idea of the game, but if there was a character I would take out of my party without thinking about it if given the chance it would be Mario, just like I would never play as Mario in SMB2 or almost any game other than smash bros where he's an option. From a character perspective I would rather have the party led by Luigi or Peach rather than Mario.
I love how Rabbid Peach and Rabbid Mario looked all starstruck at the Rabbid Lightning from FF XIII. That's what I'm calling her until we get a name. I feel like the villain is a possessed Rosalina though. Need to know more about the battle system...nervous about changes.
Automatically purchased. I love the look and gameplay even if there isn't any new features. The first game was joyous.
A sequel to the finest Mario game Nintendo never made 👌 can’t wait
I bought M+R for my daughter. But I was the one that ended up finishing it. I just couldn't stop playing it. It was so addictive! LOL. I was so sad when I finished it. I was totally hoping for a sequel!!! LOL.
