If the reveal and gameplay trailer for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope wasn't already enough, we've now got just a little bit more of this newly announced Ubisoft title, courtesy of the company's press website.
Perhaps most excitingly is a look at the game's official Nintendo Switch box art. Here it is in all its glory:
And along with this, we've got some more screenshots. Most of these appear to be stills captured from the trailers. Enjoy!
What do you think of the official box art and all these screenshots? Are you excited for this 2022 release? Tell us down below.

When the trailer showed up I thought the purple guy in the back was from paper mario TYD LOL.
Pretty sure this time there will be some amiibo toys with it.
That indeed is some nice box art
The box art is so beautiful I'm buying the game no matter what; it reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy 2.
love the box art.. cannot wait for this game. I am so glad they got rid of the grid battle system and are using the more free roaming game play like in Difinity original sin. and no restricted movements. the game has more freedom of movement . I am so glad they changed the gameplay. I think this version will be more fun and a better game.
That box art is beautiful, the game looks beautiful, Rabbid Luna is beautiful, this looks to be an amazing sequel to an already great game.
The footage was pre-alpha but there's boxart already?
Should be an awesome game, like Kingdom Battle. I'll play it for sure, just hope it runs at 60fps or higher!
I'm getting this sometime. Still not finished first one.
Lovely boxart.
@Aurumonado
First, you don't do E3 the week before. That footage was shot, sent to marketing, and edited 6-8 months ago.
Second, you don't make games in a linear fashion, and often the last thing you make is the overworld, menu's, and other things that will allow you to make your first build. You don't need them seeing everyone is going to be polishing and testing the small parts they personally worked on, and 99% of the time you cut or add something late in development that would force you to remake them anyways. So while this might be "pre alpha", meaning it's footage from before the game is fully compiled, that's not an indication of how much work is left to be done. Sometimes the "pre-alpha" includes every level, 100% complete and even bug tested.
Looks absolutely stunning!
Where’s Yoshi though?
@Aurumonado aparently its been worked on over the past 3 years so it doesn't surprise me
Apart from the simplified triangles on some assets (which seems to be more a stylistic choice on that level), this is looking even more impressive than the original game. I hope it still looks as good on the final release
Well ubisoft
@60frames-please Unfortunately I don’t expect 60fps here; however, based on the first game, a stable 30fps should be quite doable and is fine for this type of game. Still, would be a nice surprise if they could manage 60fps with a good resolution!
This game is looking very good. I never expected to enjoy a rabbids project, but this really works for some reason. I think this one will be a hit
Looks absolutely stunning.
Switch Pro confirmed
I'm hyped as long the guy in my avatar is in it.
Bring it on!
They don't make it look like a turned based game. Also, looks kind of premium/pro game.
The game looks really well made... and that box art is amazing!
Love how this one has so much more detail than the first game, especially in the lighting and shadow effects. Look at the still of Mario with a spark. It’s dark and the glow of the spark casting a shadow on Mario onto the barrier he’s behind. Stunning!
@Falien Yeah, I honestly expect 30fps. I'll play it docked if that's what it is, but if they make it 60 I'll play it both ways. Maybe Switch Pro will have a performance mode! (yeah, and this kind of game isn't even close to an important genre for 60 or 120fps smooth motion)
Ehmmm... if the fights really have no grid then there is the possibility gameplay changes a lot. Would be a big bummer for me. The fights just worked sooo good. Too good to change them. I'm a little bit concerned now.
This looks great! I never played the first one, because neither the story, or combat interested me. THIS, on the other hand... Yeah, I'm totally buying this. Maybe not day one though, because Ubisoft games are always on sale.
I never played the original but I heard a lot of great things about it so I might pick this one up
Not only does the box art looks great but the game visuals itself have been improved upon as well. Less bland, more contrast and lighting improvement. Well done. Instant buy.
Truly amazing is the contrast between how people reacted to a Rabbid’s Mario game the first time (utter disgust and fear haha) to now for the sequel where everyone is loving it. How times have changed!
That is a pretty sweet looking cover.
@Bulborb Yeah based on the trailer I think it helps that they separated the maps you battle on from the exploration. Which means they can make a better looking environments.
Whereas in the original, while the game looked good. A lot of the game world was just the battle maps stitched together by corridors and brief puzzle sections which probably held it back a bit.
