Re: Poll: New Pokémon Snap Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?

@AndyC_MK The account deletion is understandable, honestly. One way I make the time I spend writing paragraph after paragraph better is by saving them all in a folder. Is it healthy? I don't know, probably not. But I always have it there to easily copy and paste if a similar situation arises.

Of course I can agree with some of the stuff he says, but the way in which he goes about saying it is absolutely terrible. But most of it is just crap. I never know why someone would want to waste time just commenting random crap on websites. Maybe some sick pleasure?

And maybe I have a sick pleasure too. I enjoyed reading your replies, how he was getting totally knocked out of the ring. It was funny how at the end he said that he's just happy to have a good life, and that you'll never amount to anything. When for all he knows you're a trillionaire!

But regardless, thanks for this bit of entertainment!

I know that this game is unique and interesting, but, well, it doesn't fit under my criteria of 'game'. Games, in general, are fun, if played the right way. Whether its a board game, golf, or a video game, it should be fun. If it isn't fun, then don't call it a game! Unfortunately we never came up with a name for electronic software similar to games, but with one easily spottable difference being that, well, it isn't fun! Instead we decided to be mean and call certain things walking simulators.

@Antiriad2097 I see. Well this is what I believe, and will continue to live by. And if I were not a Christian I would be completely willing to discuss this and find a solution. But I am a Christian, and must listen to what the Bible says above all. Here's a passage about abstaining from sexual immorality. Ephesians 5:3a: "But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you," I consider nudity to violate this.

As for language, here's Ephesians 5:4: "Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving." I would say that strong language falls into this category. Not everyone in life curses every two sentences. It adds nothing to the conversation, and if fact shows weakness of controlling speech! I want little of this in any of the media I consume. 1 Corinthians 15:33 states: "Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”" I believe that this applies to anything we consume lots of.

That being said, I am very strict on these things, even among my family! I want to leave life with minimal regrets. But I want to enjoy certain things while I'm here. That being said, if I feel like something is sin, I do my best to stay far away from it. If it isn't sin, what does it matter ten thousand years down the line? I probably won't even care about it by then!

As for virtual sin, I don't believe I'm qualified to answer this. That said, I'll do my best! I do not find it sinful to kill code, regardless of how the pixels are laid out on screen. The dangerous part is how you interact with what is "safe". If you kill random innocent creatures, would that be sin? No, no it wouldn't be. God put humanity above all creatures, whether they be in the air, sea, or ground. Not to mention these aren't even real creatures we're talking about.

What I do know is that it is far too easy to sin in multiplayer games. If a creature you intentionally kill belongs to another player, yes that would clearly be sin. It would be taking from another for your own benefit. What if it was an accident? Then what you do after the accident could be sin. What about voice chat? I don't even need to say anything here, we know there's ample opportunity for sin there too.

But as for the question, sometimes? Whether or not it's sin largely depends on how you the human treat it. I can't say the specifics, because, well, I don't decide them. God does. And if the creator of the universe tells me not to do something, I really don't want to do it!

I try to get all morality from the Inventor of it, that being God. Trust me, I have different opinions than what God says, but I follow Him, not myself. Gaming is fun, all hobbies are, but I cannot put it above God or what He says. When I realize I put anything above God, I find out how quickly and easily I can get it out of my life. I do not want this to happen to videogames.

If you have any more questions or comments, feel free to ask! This conversation has been good for my soul, and keeping me on track. Also, sorry about the really long message, this topic cannot easily be summed up into a short paragraph or two.

I find ratings useful to know whether I should look into something more. If it says language, I find out how much. If it says nudity, I don't need to look it up. But I don't need ratings. I can find out for myself. I believe ratings are useful for parents who want to parent, but are too lazy to put in the effort to actually see what their children are wanting play. In which case, yeah, you have to feel bad for the kids just wanting to play Terraria with their friends.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Worth Buying A Nintendo Wii U In 2021?

It is entirely worth it. First off you can get all the ports for way cheaper. Then you can pick up the exclusives, with Nintendo land leading the charge. If you don't have a wii that's another consoles worth of games for you to get. And, well you could mod it, I'm not sure of what you could do with that, but you could certainly do it!

@Antiriad2097 I would consider nudity inappropriate, would you not? Same for Strong language. But as for there being hardly any games I immediately rule out, yeah, I'd have to agree. I believe they do need to put more of those types of games on switch, even if I don't like them. It's absurd they haven't ported any gta game yet, or any other game really.
Of course the main reason I don't play these games is because I'm a Christian, and I don't want to cut off games completely because my favorites are full of sin. Given that fact it's perfectly reasonable that I'd want games I'm able to play, It's one of the main reasons I stick with Nintendo, after all.
But as for the definition of inappropriate, I define it as: Anything that you would not feel comfortable showing a family, with ages as low as 5.
