Re: Zelda & Loftwing Is The Only amiibo Compatible With Skyward Sword HD

There's reason to be upset, after all Nintendo is selling us a wii game (hardly changed) for $60! That's reason enough to be upset alone! But what's more? For a quality of life improvement, they decided the best way to put it in was to force you to spend $25 on it! You could've bought a video game or two for that price! Crappy business in my opinion.

Re: Talking Point: When Was The Last Time A Game Cracked Your Top Five?

#1 Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling, 2019, first played in 2020
#2 Breath of the Wild, 2017, first played in 2017
#3 Nexomon: Extinction, 2020, first played in 2020
#4 Terraria(Modded), 2011, first played in 2016
#5 Stick Fight: The Game, 2017, first played in 2021

Of course the order depends on the day and all, but Bug Fables is always #1. Number five can change at any moment, and I bet Cris Tales will go on this list the moment it releases.

@Azuris Upscaling devices are cool too! But they're usually the price of a AAA game... But since emulation is legal (Granted that you own the game in some capacity.) I'd rather just spend less money for a similar experience. As for custom devices, I love the idea of those as well! I'll probably buy one when I have a more solid income. Really the only deterrent is just money in my case.

Re: Soapbox: Be Happy, This Is The True Golden Age Of Gaming

Unless you absolutely hate something, you will eventually be able to look back on it and call it 'the good old days.' Why? Well, you enjoyed them, and you are no longer feeling that specific type of enjoyment. So you may try to go back... you might spend thousands on old consoles and games, but it just won't feel the same. You still enjoy them, (some of them)of course, but the experience is different. You don't have the same joy with them as you did so many years ago. You aren't the same person as you were back then. Times have changed, and so have you. You peer into the past and are hurt because of it.

And so, what you once called the golden age has come back to haunt you. All those fun times you once had, they can never be relived quite like that first time. You box up the old games and consoles. It was tough, going through your history of games. You sit down at your PC/console. You look through your library of games you played, had fun with, and dropped. It's been weeks since you played on anything but history. You load up one of your favorite modern games. Moddless. On a new profile. And you have fun.

You learned a lesson from those days spent playing through the games of your past. What was it? Only you know. Through the experience you have a newfound appreciation for games of all kinds. And you now enjoy what you have more than ever before.

Re: Cyberpunk RPG Laxidaze Aims To Combine Pokémon With Final Fantasy VII Remake

@NonsensicalBS You have a good point, but the devs have been very open ended on how they're going to be creating the game, that is when they're adding things and when everything is planned for. They even livestream the process of creating the monsters! On their trello page, they have better combat planned for pre-alpha round two, which should only be in a few weeks. And while yes, the combat isn't near finished, for Laxidaze everything looks to be hastily done, combat, graphics, and even creature designs. It's not that I want Laxidaze to fail or anything, just that I wouldn't back something that early on in development.

Most of the pieces have already fallen into place for Skyclimbers, in my opinion, at least; whereas for Laxidaze, I'd doubt if they were even a fourth of the way done with development. Which is an issue for people like me, because why pay for something you won't be getting for 2+ years?

Skyclimbers is ambition with promise, (that being because we've seen all the great stuff they've already added to the game) whereas Laxidaze has ambition, but we don't know if it'll even be good. (And we already know their music choice is bad lol)

I hope that we can enjoy both though, even if one comes out years before the other. Oh, and here's their trello page: https://trello.com/c/lzNNLnOV/2-pre-alpha-r2

After checking out some other videos on their YouTube channel, yeah, it doesn't look good. It looks like an extremely early prototype with quality varying wildly. I could see this maybe being good in three or four years. Which is what some people may think Kickstarter is for, right? No, why would I pay money to an unknown developer to play a game that seems to be bad? I wouldn't. But hey, at least this seems better than SwSh!

As for a good monster tamer though, I backed Skyclimbers a few weeks ago, because its mostly done, looks great, visually, sound wise, and gameplay wise too! The beta launches this year, and it'll be great.

( Not a traditional beta, mind you. By that point the game will be fully done, except for certain kingdoms / monsters / biomes / architecture.)

Re: Video: Pokémon Fan Reimagines The Diamond And Pearl Remakes As Full 3D Games

I would've loved this but, shouldn't legends arceus fill this gap? I hate what they did with the chibi remake as much as the next guy, but really, a game like shown in the video is more of a reimagining than a remake. Same for legends arceus too. That's why we're getting both the remake and legends arceus.

(Also, I find it funny how every time we see something cool like this people are really rude to the creator and pretend there are laws preventing you from making anything like that.)

Stuff like this is interesting, but usually doesn't hold any water. The designers over at Mojang didn't intend for this to officially happen either, all of this only exists because of Microsoft. But I suppose some kids would enjoy it.

Re: Hitman 3 - Cloud Version Now Includes 60FPS Performance Mode On Switch

@PALversusNTSC Oh, no I have great internet! I could do lots of streaming games if I wanted to! I just don't see any reason why they would put the third game in a trilogy as a cloud game, on a system marketed about taking it anywhere, without even putting the first two on there too. After all, most people who own the first two probably have the hardware capable of running the third. Overall I'm rust confused as to why they they did it like that.
