Re: Nintendo's Pokémon Catching-Related Patent Has Been Rejected In Japan

LightSpirit

I was waiting for you to publish this. I heard about this earlier this morning and it brought a big smile to my face. As much as I like Nintendo's games what they're trying to do is basically eliminate the competition and no sane person here wants that. Competition is a healthy thing and encourages innovation, without it innovation just stalls.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battles Season 2 Start Date And Rewards Revealed

Lost interest in playing Pokémon online years ago and that hasn't changed now. I do play online from time to time but generally I just don't enjoy it that much like I used to as I just keep getting matched up with Competitive Players rather than Casual Players. Personally I think forcing people to play something they might not be that interested in just to obtain an in game item that can easily be obtained in game is quite frankly pretty disgusting.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Scored US' Biggest Physical Game Launch Since TOTK

While I think the hate was being blown out of proportion I still think a lot of the new Megas were just disappointing I'll just say. With Mega Starmie it's almost as if someone opened Microsoft Paint and said hey lads how about we just stretch it out at the bottom so it has legs?

Apart from this I am enjoying the new Battle system. I hope they build on this for gen 10 or whatever the next games are going to be.

Re: Best Pokémon Games Of All Time

LightSpirit

I'm surprised you put X and Y higher than Sun and Moon. The biggest complaint with those games is that they were so easy. I know during my Playthroughs of them I barely got to hear the Gym Leader theme because I always had them defeated within seconds, literally.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th October)

LightSpirit

Ninja Gaiden 4 Slime Rancher 2 Kirby and the Forgotten Land Star Crossed World Kirby Air Rider on Gamecube while I wait For Riders on Switch 2. I'll also be continuing on with Digimon Story Time Stranger and I think I'm beginning to change how I feel towards Legends ZA, after playing more of it last night I'm beginning to think a lot of the criticism is coming from people who have yet to play it or have no intention of playing it. Now I certainly don't think it's GOTY and it certainly could be better in some aspects but as far as the new Battle system is concerned I'm actually really liking it. I'll continue playing that too when I have the time.

It goes to show just how contagious internet hate band wagons really are. I never hate on anything yet the discourse for Legends ZA was/is so extreme that it was even starting to rub off on me.

Re: Xbox Reiterates Its Support For Switch 2

I've been busy with work and knew nothing of this. What a crazy timeline we live in. I never would have believed Halo would ever make its way to PlayStation and as a person who grew up with it since the beginning this really pleases me as newer generations will be able to experience these iconic games for themselves.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Walkthrough

LightSpirit

While I do prefer Legends Arceus by a mile I do intend to play this game until the end. I think if they added some greenery like Forest and Fields outside the city to explore my gripe with this game would be considerably less. As a person in his late 40s who's been playing Pokèmon since day one I'm just not used to being stuck in the same environments for the entirety of the game. I always look forward to exploring new areas in a Pokèmon game and that seems to be really lacking here.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Where To Catch Eevee

LightSpirit

I always remember Eevee being a pain in the neck to catch early game in Legends Arceus. If it spotted you you really had to act fast and if you fluffed it getting them to spawn in again was also a pain. Finding Alpha Eevee was even harder.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sold 5.8 Million Copies Globally In Its First Week

LightSpirit

Yeah not surprised. While I'm not very pleased with the game myself I knew it was going to sell. I mean it's Pokémon it's one of if not the biggest franchise in the World.

Looking at this discussion the discourse is as clear as day. I think people should just accept that regardless of opinion on the game we can at least agree that it's one of the most divisive games in years.
