Re: Japanese Charts: Smash Bros. Ultimate Continues To Dominate As Switch Consoles Fly Off Shelves

Lemmy_the_Koopa

It's no wonder the Switch is doing so good in Japan. It is catered to a japanese audience, since you can play on the go, in a land that has a lot public transportation. In addition you can still play it without a lot of space as you can put the Switch up with a stand, without a TV. If you are having a TV, the motion controls are more forgiving / don't require as much space, as the Wii. So overall the appeal is quite big.

Re: Nintendo Will Be Taken To Court Over Its "Illegal" eShop Pre-Ordering System

"the performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent, and with the acknowledgement that he will lose his right of withdrawal once the contract has been fully performed by the trader"

The problem is, the eshop forces this on you. If you want to buy something you have to waive your right upon buying.

@Audigore0733
The problem stems not for being able to make preorder, but from not be able to withdraw from the contract. For example, if you preordered a game, but want to reconsider, you can't do that currently on the eshop. This is where the lawsuit is aiming at.

Re: Nintendo Switch Becomes The Fastest-Selling Console Of This Generation In The US

Hopefully next year a third and first party momentum is back in full swing, I am modestly optimistic with already some games announced for Switch like Doom Etenrnal, MK IX, but also some more obscrue titles that are for PS4 & Switch, and hopefully anticipated titles like Metroid 4, Bayonetta 3 or the next Shin Megami Tensei.

Though I do hope the Wii U porting stops. As one of the handful of Wii U owners, I have enough

Re: NES And SNES Classic Consoles Won't Be Restocked After Holidays, "Once They Sell Out, They’re Gone"

Lemmy_the_Koopa

It was only last month that Reggie described the NES and SNES Classics as "limited time opportunities" that were designed to bridge the gap between Wii U and Switch, so this news isn't all that surprising.

Seems Nintendo wasn't sure if the Switch would meet the same fate as the Wii U and cashed in quickly, but now with having some system sellers under their belt they probably want to use the nostalgia feeling to boost the Nintendo Switch Online program.

Re: Reggie: Third-Party Gaps In Switch Game Library Linked To Timing Of System Reveal

In addition I do hope developers took note on

a] The success of 3rd party titles like Octopath Traveler, to show that the Switch is worth their time and don't need to bring in Nintendo Mascots. Even Bethesda was happy with the sales of DOOM, Skyrim & Wolfenstein., which probably lead to DOOM Eternal coming to Switch now.

b] Panic Button's ability to bring demanding titles to the Switch [sure they can't work on every title, but demanding titles can be ported]

The german electronics chains is

a] selling the switch for 277,00 €
b] having a games sale (go to saturn.de/3f2) where you can get three games and get the cheapest one for free

So if you looking for a way to cheaply bolster your library, or as I did it took advantage of the whole deals to get myself a switch, too, you might not wait long.

Won't happen that this is not coming to Nintendo hardware. It was funded on Kickstarter where you could acquire also Wii U and 3DS keys. Also they want to release the game on Steam, 3DS and Wii U at once (well at least during the same week). Currently they are into submission mode, and if one party rejects the code, than everybody else has to wait. Also they would need a release slot for that the same time and that isn't easy to pull off, too ;p

Taken from their last Kickstarter update

"FOR SHOVELRY! After near endless days of bleary-eyed internal testing and bug fixing, we opened this week by creating a gold master candidate of Shovel Knight! That means we have a potentially finished version of the game which is ready to go live!
Now we are in the submission and certification process for platform holders. That’s when external teams verify that the game works as expected. If everything checks out on their side, then they’ll prepare the game to go live on their digital storefront and get back to us with a true, solid release date.

But! If they uncover any issues that somehow slipped by our team then the game will “bounce” back to us for a fix! So… at this point, even the Yacht Club is playing the waiting game. "

Nice game. Not an instant buy, but I look into this. I think it's pretty neat to get a full sound when all targets ar lit, dood and this adding up target by target. It's like an instant reward for doing something right!
