Re: Site News: Nintendo Life Turns 10 Today

Knuckles

Congrats NintendoLife on the excellent ten years. I started lurking back in 2010 when I was looking for a DSiWare review and joined in 2011.

@James Can we borrow you from NoE for a few minutes for you to say some kind words about your time here?

Re: Review: Toki Tori 3D (3DS eShop)

Knuckles

@ThomasBW84 I've been wanting the GBC version for a long time anyway, and I wasn't going to buy it today. I was however booting up the eShop for the 3D version because I was sold on a 2 dollar Toki Tori, I just was waiting for NL's review first to be sure the game wasn't littered with bugs and the coding was held together by duct tape. Not saying the developers aren't trustworthy, but no reason to waste money on a poor game.

Re: Review: Toki Tori 3D (3DS eShop)

Knuckles

@ThomasBW84 Thank you. I was wanting to buy both games anyway, but I couldn't justify buying an inferior version like the GBC game if I owned the 3D version and everything was the same.

Re: Review: Toki Tori 3D (3DS eShop)

Knuckles

@ThomasBW84 I am confused as to what is the difference between the GBC version and this.

Are all of the levels in the GBC version offered in the 3D version, along with many options not included in the GBC version?

I'm sold on the game regardless, I just want to know if I would be wasting money by buying the GBC version as well.

Re: Feature: How Mario Kart Brought Two Soul Mates Together

Knuckles

@Zelda_Rocks He says that he didn't even know that feature existed, and quite honestly, I believe him. Nintendo didn't have this feature in Mario Kart Wii, and up until he ran into her again, he wasn't interested in Mario Kart 8. Its within reason to say that he wasn't very interested in Online, and as thus, didn't know that feature existed.

Re: Nintendo Download: 17th September (Europe)

Knuckles

@Dazza I am not the biggest Pokemon fan, but I am almost certain that Mewtwo was #150, and not #151. If I recall correctly, Mew's clone had the irony of being ahead of him in the Kanto Dex, which had 151 known Pokemon.

Re: Video: Watch Sonic Repeatedly Rescue Tails In 3D Sonic The Hedgehog 2's Credits Sequence

Knuckles

@joep1984 Actually, in Japan, Dr. Eggman has always been Dr. Eggman. Dr. Robotnik came out of the Western Releases, where names, stories and backstories in instruction manuals were commonly changed to better suit cultures. Starting at Sonic Adventure I believe, the good old Doctor's name to Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik worldwide, but I'm not entirely sure if SA1 was the game to do this.

Re: Review: Star Fox Command (Wii U eShop / DS)

Knuckles

I'd personally give this game a 7/10. It was the first Star Fox I'd played, so I had no idea what I was missing out on in terms of controls, but the gameplay was solid on a DS.

Fair warning though, later in the game, the game goes on rails all of a sudden and it can be surprising.

Re: How Fire Emblem amiibo Interact with Fates

Knuckles

@Koopa-King Should they take the Mega Man, Pac-Man and eventual Ryu amiibos away as well?

Sonic might at least have some compatibility with his yearly releases, maybe Pac-Man and his next Ghostly adventure game.

Edit: Completely missed the speed joke.

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog is Now 24 Years Old

Knuckles

@ThomasBW84 As others have said, you are currently living one month in the future.

The article lists today's date as July 23, not June 23.

Happy Birthday Sonic, currently replaying your debut platformer on my 3DS.

Re: Devil's Third

Knuckles

Has this even been mentioned once at E3 so far? Day 2 is over and I don't think I heard the name Devil's Third once.

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Producer Explains Why Samus Aran Isn't In The Game

Knuckles

@Hachiko @DBPirate They could have easily gone the same route as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

In that game, you could have 4 player Co-Op, and everyone could be Snake. However, in game when looking at your partners, they all look like one of your MSF troops. You would always see yourself as Snake if you selected Snake, but on your screen, your partners aren't Snake, and on their screen, they are Snake and you aren't.

Same thing could have worked here.

Re: Nintendo Download: 28th May (Europe)

Knuckles

@ThomasBW84 Like @OniinSide pointed out, there is a problem with this part of the update.

Space Lift Danger Panic! (Spring Loaded, €1.65 / £1.29 until 4th June, €0.80 / £0.65 until 4th June for users who have already downloaded Space Lift Danger Panic! with the same Nintendo Network ID - normally €2.49/ £1.99)

How do you buy the same downloadable game twice on the same console with the same NNID?
