Re: Hardware Review: Putting The Retro Freak's Range Of Accessories To The Test

Knuckles

@Damo I agree, awesome controller, and I have had mine almost as long!

Are you excited for the Retro Bit USB controllers? https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/01/retro-bit_bringing_capcom-themed_controllers_and_jaleco_multi-carts_to_market_this_year

I just noticed you also wrote that article, so it isn't your first time seeing them. I'm seriously considering the Genesis/Mega Drive 6 Button Controller.

Re: NES Classic Mini Demand "Greater Than We Anticipated," Admits Reggie Fils-Aime

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I was going to say the same thing. Wii U is confirmed to be Chopped Liver to Nintendo (of America at least)

@DarthNocturnal They did it with the Wii Shortages, and with the Zelda II, Super Mario Bros 2 USA released. Only one I'm willing to bet was partially real was the amiibo shortages because of a port strike and many a Nintendo product being stuck on a dock. Not saying the product stuck there would have fit demand needs anyway, but that one seems a bit out of Nintendo's control.

Re: The Altered Beast And Streets of Rage Movies You Never Knew You Wanted Are On Their Way

Knuckles

@eLarkos The games in question here, Altered Beast and Streets of Rage, were both released on Wii VC and 3D Classics on 3DS. That makes it relevant to report on.
As for when Sega news pops up, Sega is a third party that publishes software on Nintendo Hardware, and you'll see that NintendoLife reports on those third parties because of their connection to Nintendo, but it needs to usually relate to Nintendo.

For instance, since Sonic Mania has been announced, I believe NintendoLife did 1 article on it, and if they didn't, then it was included in the recap of Sonic's 25th Anniversary Stream. They have not reported on further Sonic Mania news because as of this moment, the game is not confirmed to be in development for any Nintendo Console, or Handheld.

Re: Best Buy Opens Pre-Orders on Some Re-Stocked amiibo in the US

Knuckles

@ThomasBW84 They also have the Super Fighting Robot: Mega Man, and Dark Pit on Best Buy. I know for a fact Mega Man is very hard to come by, the original blue one, not the Gold One, and the Amiibo reddit made a post about Dark Pit, so he was apparently out of stock for a while.

Re: Review: The Legend of the Mystical Ninja (3DS eShop / SNES)

Knuckles

@RyanSilberman It can be done. On all of SEGA's Game Gear games it is an option on the 3DS Virtual Console, so its built into their Game Gear Emulator. Capcom also put a version of Super Street Fighter 2 on the Genesis/Mega Drive Virtual Console on Wii and it had online multiplayer.

Bottom line, SEGA still does what Nintendon't.

Re: Review: Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice (3DS)

Knuckles

@ThomasBW84 You said "...Knuckles burrows underground and more besides - there's plenty for players to consider as they jump into this one." Do you at all mean any of his classic abilities such as Climbing, and or Gliding, in what you said before besides?

Re: Sega 3D Fukkoku Archives 3: Final Stage Adds Thunder Force III

Knuckles

@Jamotello Nintendo stopped making their 3D Classics because they thought they could just add the 3D effect and sell the games. Turns out, adding the 3D effect actually effected the placement of enemies, characters, backgrounds, doors, etc and nothing worked the way it was supposed to. They ended up having to redo the games from scratch, just what M2 is doing, and once Nintendo finished releasing their 6 3D Classics, they stopped making more. There reasoning was something along the lines of: In the time it takes us to redo a classic and make it a 3D Classic, we could have made a brand new game instead.

Re: Preview: Taking the Temperature of Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice

@ThomasBW84 It appears an autocorrect got the best of you. In paragraph 7, you say "Tales can glide too". I'm certain you mean Tails.

@Uncensored The tape was part of a design choice, and I can recall someone from the development studio saying that its supposed to represent them being ready to go at any moment. They are wearing Athletic Tape, and they want to get the job done, and don't exactly care what they look like. Its more for functionality than style. I could be slightly off, but I did read the article here on Nintendo Life back before the initial games released.

@WilliamCalley This isn't like the Wii U game. Its a sequel to the 3DS Sonic Boom, which was decent at best. It had some problems, but wasn't broken. Changes are, this game will get a 6 or 7 average in reviews.
