How do you do a trailer voiceover for a game like Mario Party Superstars? With great enthusiasm, of course, as befits a colourful game in which you play minigames with friends and love ones. The localised version of a recent introductory trailer does just that, in addition to showing plenty of neat features from the game.
In addition to highlighting the presence of online play from day one, the trailer showcases daily and other challenges that you'll be able to tackle against others online in 'Mt. Minigames'. It seems like this entry is trying to keep you playing even when you can't get a group together to play a conventional board.
As previously highlighted this version has 100 minigames drawn from pretty much the whole series, so here's hoping it's as fun as it sounds.
Are you planning to pick this up on 29th October?

Pre-ordered on the eshop already
I'm awaiting an update on the other entry.
Will skip this one for now.
Yup, will buy, looks like they went back to the roots
Getting it for single player, and online multiplayer with random people.
@tourjeff I wish I was more like you
Button controls will feel great. Glad I skipped Super (Then again I didn't get a Switch in 2018 soooooo). I'm gonna play the minigames mode online so much!!!
@GamingBread I know. I like Super, but the fact that you had to play it in tabletop or docked was kind of annoying. Also the fact that you could only play it with a Joy-Con on its side, unless you wanted to shell out well over $500 for 8 Pro Controllers.
Did enjoy super with the kids so this is a no brainer for us
@tourjeff I wish I had the confidence that the first was getting an update. But I have less than zero.
Hoping they at least double the amount of Mario Party boards quickly over time with free DLC updates & post-release content pretty much monthly like they've been doing with Mario Tennis & Golf on Switch (only difference and alarming thing here is they made mention that more post-release content was coming in much of the pre-release promo for both of those other games, nothing mentioned for MP Superstars yet).
5 boards in a remake compilation is disappointingly lackluster, however I'm still optimistic and excited for all the much overdue online functionality!
... Wun can only hope.
@1UP_MARIO I'd go for them, but i honestly don't know, the price is quite high for a mini game collection, my problem is, it'll probably get old after a few hours on a party, same happens with Wario Ware, i feel like if more of my school friends got the game it would be a great value, when you're lonely, it just doesn't seem worth it, but i can see it being an amazing family value
@damien33ad Ever thought about naming your child "Mario Party 10"?
@damien33ad is she more of a 1-2 Switch fan?
@Edwirichuu it’s always best played in groups. My kids and I have clocked over 60 hours on Super Mario party and 50 hours plus on warioware.
The rendering on this is exquisite. I am blown away by all the crazy tech they are doing with their UI. Nintendo doesn't get enough credit for this kind of menu magic.
The surfacing is gorgeous too.
@wuntyme8 Still better than a previous game. I am still baffled that they only offered 4 boards in the last game.
But I am positive there will be one secret board if not two.
I don't really like the board selection in this one, they're too safe of picks
Will this follow Super Mario Bros Smash.
In five years we will be up to 20 boards and 400 mini games.
i hope Mario Party Superstar have free updates for new boards/ minigames for others Mario Party games, 5 boards and 100 minigames is just too short for this game.
@damien33ad good luck with it all! Just do what she says and you’ll be ok!
@Darkyoshi98 Did you know you can order the game from official Nintendo Store and receive the digital eShop code but also any pre-order physical bonuses as well such as sricker sheets, keychains, etc.
I feel like this game is missing four boards: two from Mario Party 3, then one board from the other N64 games. If Nintendo brings Mario Party 3 to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, then maybe I'll feel less sour about it, but until then, MP3 got robbed.
@KayFiOS MP 3 got by far the most Minigames included.
@KayFiOS Agreed, I don't hate Woody Woods, but Chilly Waters, Spiny Desert and Waluigi Island are way more fun and chaotic. Hopefully they get added as DLC or something.
I’d like this, but probably going to wait for a sale unless my siblings across the country get it. It’d be great to relive old times playing with them, only online this time.
I think on balance I'm going to wait to see if they "do a Mario Golf" and come out with any DLC before taking the plunge on this. Wario's Battle Canyon would be my first choice, and in second place would be any other board from the original.
If that doesn't happen, no big deal; the original Mario Party is one of the main reasons I keep a battle-ready N64.
Did I mention the original is one of my favourite games ever?!
I echoe alot of comments on here. I nejoyed Super with the kids and wife as it was the 1st Mario party that i had played but the 5 boards soon became stale and we only ever played on 4 of them. As a compilation and nod to previous games in the series 5 boards just doesnt cut the mustard. Am i right in thinking previous versions always had more than 5?
