One of the bigger releases on the Nintendo Switch this week is Aspyr's version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. It's officially described as being "similar" to the 2008 release on the Nintendo Wii, and now includes updated Joy-Con motion controls.
While we didn't quite rate it in our Nintendo Life review, for some Star Wars fans out there (and even gamers who played this back in the day), there'll no doubt be enough there to interest you. That's why we've decided to put together a poll to see if you'll be giving it a go or maybe waiting for a sale. So vote in our poll and leave a comment down below.

Eh I’ve never been that a fan of Star Wars.
Sadly I never could get into these games, and I really wanted to. May try again with this release….
This one doesn't interest me that much. I'm a big Star Wars fan but this one just doesn't look that great.
I'll buy it for nostalgia's sake but I'll probably wait for the retail, non-LRG physical edition. I grew up with this game (it came out when I was a kid) and I love the idea of Starkiller so this game being rereleased is cool in my eyes and I'd like to (eventually) support that.
I'll be waiting for the physical release, although I haven't put an order in just yet. Going to give it a bit of time to see if there's anything else I want to order alongside it.
I’m waiting for the two pack physical release.
I might pick it up when it's on sale, hopefully May 4th. That way I can retire my Wii copy.
Where's the "I already own the original or another copy of it elsewhere" option?
I won't be getting it as I have it elsewhere, glad others get to play it though.
Eh, maybe if I really want to play a Star Wars game and have already beat Jedi fallen order again.
Have it on the 360, it was a fun game, but one playthrough is enough for me
I really enjoyed my psp. Still, I have little desire to play it again. Okay, if goes on hella hella sale, I might have a look.
Removed - unconstructive
@FroZtedFlakerZz had the same thought. I rented the game for my 360 and yeah it was fun, but that's it, nothing that would make me buy it. One playthrough was enough.
Kinda wish Starkiller was canon
Yes. I enjoyed the Wii game. The characters, story and audio in particular. I want to play it in handheld. Shame a good game wasn't properly remastered.
Nope, already played the Wii version.
Looks decent but not for £18. Maybe I’d have paid that if it were the 360 version. Will wait for a sale
Only Star Wars game I’m interested in picking up is the new LEGO one
Maybe if it was the 360 release...
Played it years ago on PS3 and don't really need to Play It Again. 🤷♂️
P. S. ROGUE SQUADRON TRILOGY NOW! 🙏🥺😂
Was never interested in non-canon Star Wars stuff. EU aside, I don't think these games were ever treated as canon, right?
Also, Kylo Ren 4 life.
Next Star Wars game forme will be at new one that was developed for the Switch from the ground up!
I love Star Wars just fine, but there's a few other Star Wars games I would rather have on the Switch first. Besides, looking at NintendoLife's review, I doubt I'd want to put any money down for it.
As it is, I just bought that Neptunia x Senran Kagura game, so I'd rather not spend more than I have to, especially considering I have student debt to pay off, and I may have to have my tonsils surgically removed.
If the votes in your poll are representative of the Switch buying public, then it should do ok'ish.
Naah, not for me. Big star wars need & played on wii (a long time ago in a galaxy...). Would like to replay, but for some reason, it really bothers me that the graphics are THIS bad 😕
Its far better than the review on here suggests. If anyone is on the fence SwitchUp have done a couple of great videos about the game.
Hoping for a normal physical release and not a LRG, as the shipping on them are killing me (especially when the wife finds out how much it costs)
I was so thrilled to get this for the Wii back in the day, as all I wanted to do with the wiimotes was pretend I was a Jedi and swinging a lightsaber. The feeling didn’t last too long though …
However! I re bought both tFU’s for the PS3 some years later and enjoyed those versions immensely, so I can’t see myself getting this version for my Lite, as I can’t even properly do the “swinging a lightsaber” bit with a joycon.
A little too late in the day for this release, perhaps?
I'd be tempted if the sequel was re-released as I missed that first time round. Sticking with my physical complete edition on the PS3 for this one though.
Only good thing is that the game is not asking full price like Square or some other (even more) greedy companies do. Unfortunately this game needs more of a remake. It had technical issues even when it first got released and i'm not sure if they are really fixed. The story and music is good (well cheesy but still) so it would benefit from a Remake treatment
Would have preferred a remaster of the second game (Wii version only) as it was superior to the other versions.
I do plan on getting this but will probably wait and get the physical version or a sale
It definitely looks dated and seeing the review video I am not keen on getting it myself. Some games ripen with age, others, not so much. I think this game is on the latter end of the spectrum.
Played it back when it came out originally. Really unlikeable characters and overall a big step down imo compared to the jedi knight games in terms of gameplay.
I got both games years ago for a couple of pounds on steam. Really surprised by how much I didn’t like em as they were still held in very high regard at the time.
Anyway, you can’t please everyone.
No, too many old games to play already, plus having a blast with the Skywalker saga,
Played it in 4K on my Xbox
Nah, I played it and thought it was a waste of time in its original format. Doesn’t really draw me in for a replay on modern consoles.
If it was the PS3/360 version, I'd buy it, but it is the inferior Wii version
I remember my friends being very excited when this released on PS2
Not really a Star Wars guy
Maybe on a steep discount. This game was alright, but I played it during the Wii days, and I’m not really itching to play it again.
I'm good with the PSP version thanks
I have this and second game on my xbox physical collection. I dont need this switch release.
I watch the movies and the shows as they release, but that's where my Star Wars fandom ends. I don't have inherent knowledge of the ins and outs of the entire universe like my roomies. They've been playing Lego Star Wars together.
Physical copy for me because my OCD demands that my LRG numbered collection remains complete.
It's a great game, but I'll stick with the PC and PSP versions
This game is butt-ugly. Why in the world did they port the crappy Wii version? The 360 copy on my modern Xbox runs and plays better
There's few games that I actually really despise but this is one of them. The edgelord effect this game had on Star Wars is still poisoning the understanding of what the movies are supposed to be about.
Love Star Wars, but this was never a favorite of mine. Never liked the insanely over-the-top Force stuff.
Have it on my Wii, love it, don't need it on my switch.
This game was barely passable when it released, not sure it's gotten any better in the last decade since...
No, not a fan of Star Wars
Star Wars is dead to me since Disney did Luke dirty in Last Jedi. They sealed their fate when they fired Gina Carano from Mandalorian. Star wars can rot.
@EriXz blame Disney. I consider him canon and the new trilogy non canon.
