It's almost time for beat-em-up sequel River City Saga: Three Kingdoms on the Nintendo Switch! Unless you're in Japan, that is, because the game is already out over there. But for us in the West, the Nintendo Switch release date is July 21st, 2022 — and it's looking rather lovely.
The game is based on the Three Kingdoms of 3rd century China, and appears to be split between three playable factions. You might recognise the Three Kingdoms from games like Dynasty Warriors, or even the recently-announced Reigns: Three Kingdoms.
The trailer above shows off some new gameplay and a little bit more of the game's localisation.
What do you think of River City Saga: Three Kingdoms so far? Will you be grabbing it in July? Let us know in the comments.

Wow this looks awesome. As a River City fan this is day one for me. Now just when will river city girls 2 come out?
Looks really cool! Beat ‘em ups just aren’t holding my attention for long these days though.
I will probably buy it.There have been years since I played a beat-em-up and this game captured my attention.Does RIver city series have prequels to this one?If so,are they worth playing?
@jim_sfet The river city games are basically the English versions of a series in Japan called The Kunio Kun series. The series originated fro, the 80s. If you want to play a River city game om switch online NES I would recommend River City Ransom which is om switch NES Online. There is also the phenomenal River City Girls game which is great, and it’s upcoming sequel River City Girls 2. There is also a prequel called River City Girls zero which brings a Japanese Kunio kun game for the first time officially. There is also a Kunio kun collection on switch which is great.
My favorite will always remain the Nintendo world cup on NES. Features kunio and his pals.
Belt action Musou? I'm not really a River City fan but this looks really good.
@Themagusx1 tanks for helping the people. One of us had to do it!
@MegaMari0 "My favorite will always remain the Nintendo world cup on NES. Features kunio and his pals."
It's on Switch in the
Double Dragon & Kunio-kun: Retro Brawler Bundle
where it's called by its Japanese translation title:
Nekketsu High School Dodgeball Club - Soccer Story
"You might recognise the Three Kingdoms from games like ...
