Re: Rumour: 2K Is Creating A Series Of Lego Sports Games

JeongersGaming

It'll he interesting to see if TT will start making non Lego games again if they're not able to keep making them. I can see them probably going the Marvel/Star Wars route and allowing multiple publishers to use the IP, but if not, Lego Skywalker Saga will hopefully be a great send off - and basically bookends an era that began with Star Wars.

Re: Microsoft And Activision Will Continue To Support "A Variety Of Platforms" Despite Acquisition

@HeadPirate "It's like you seem to get all MS wants is to make money, but you think MAKE THIS EXCLUSIVE is the one size fits all way to do that, despite the fact that every other time MS has done this they approached everything on a case by case basis"

I will refer you to comment #73, where I said games already on other platforms will continue being supported, which includes Minecraft, etc.

I do think there is a good chance we will see more, and that's if Sony allows Game Pass on PlayStation. A few years ago, I'd have said it would never happen. It would cannibalise Sony's bottom line if people could subscribe to their competitors service on their own console instead of buying the games - HOWEVER... With all of these acquisitions, I think there is a strong case to be made that Game Pass could exist on PlayStation in a form where it only includes Xbox Studios games, no third party. I think with all of these buyouts they have enough content to justify a service like that, and it suits Microsoft's ultimate goal of growing the service like I said in my first reply.

@HeadPirate "And I mean ... obviously Skylanders is going to be on Switch"

Skylanders isn't going to be on anything anytime soon.

"You know a great way to make money? Make games for the 70 million install base system that has a demographic that matches your game, instead of just the 20 million install base system that is completely outside of it."

You don't get it, Microsoft are playing the long game here. They want to grow Game Pass.

Re: Microsoft And Activision Will Continue To Support "A Variety Of Platforms" Despite Acquisition

No it won't include Switch. Future ActiBlizz games will be only available on Xbox, PC and Xcloud. Only games currently already available on Switch and PlayStation will receive support, and they won't delist them either. At best, you can maybe expect ports and remasters to still be multiplatform, such as the recent Quake 1 release.

And no, Microsoft has barely supported the Switch beyond Minecraft and letting Banjo in Smash and Switch online. Ori 1 they published, but Ori 2 and Cuphead were separate from them.

@IronMan30 I think Microsoft considers companies like Apple to be bigger competition.

Re: Nintendo Announces Enormous Cyber Switch Sale That Will Discount More Than 1,000 Games

JeongersGaming

@Supadav03 @The-Chosen-one In previous gens, we'd be seeing Nintendo Selects by now too. It's unfortunate there's no indication of that line coming to the Switch. I understand some don't like the packaging, but digitally it'd be nice for those early 1st party games to get cut down in price by even that usual 33% sale cost by default or something.

I can imagine new Switch owners in around a year being asked to spend full price for BotW and Splatoon 2 after the sequels have dropped, which is a bit silly, especially for Splatoon.

Re: Review: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition - Three Classics In One Shocking Package

JeongersGaming

This is a fair score for these poorly done remasters of the shoddy mobile versions of these classic games. Some people (including people on this site) will perform revisionist history and say the originals were worse then they actually were for their time to make this release look better, or chastise you for not eating up whatever slop the billion dollar corporation feeds to you - but that doesn't change the fact that Grove Street Games (formerly War Drum Studios) has failed to do justice to the PS2 trilogy of GTA games twice now.

@CharlieGirl to be fair, those games you just described are basic ports, these new versions of GTA are running on a new engine with new assets and such.

Re: Rare's N64 Classic GoldenEye 007 Is No Longer "Banned" In Germany

JeongersGaming

@HeadPirate The game isn't called GoldenEye 64 officially however, it's title was GoldenEye 007. So that part of this discussion isn't a factor in the game's lack of re-releases up to this point. It didn't stop Doom 64 from getting released on PS4, Xbox and PC with that title anyway.

Activision hasn't had the licence to 007 for years either.
