@anoyonmus until now the engine those games ran on, RE Engine, wasn't compatible with Switch. They just recently got a Switch compatible version of it up and running for Monster Hunter Rise, Stories 2, Ghosts and Goblins, and the Arcade Stadium, but it remains to be seen if the previous RE Engine games could be brought over to this custom version.
@Strumpan Maybe around E3 time, but not actually at E3. It would be silly of Nintendo to pay the ESA thousands of dollars for a digital event when they have their own platform already.
I won't bother giving my hopes for this, it seems the things listed in the tweet is what we're getting. Not much use to expect anything else. Also has Just Cause been demoted to mobile after 4? Damn.
"Square Enix is not exactly known for bringing things to Nintendo consoles."
In all fairness they've been doing a decent job with bringing things to Switch, maybe not on the Eidos side of things, but the Square and Enix back catalogue is getting some love.
I guess this throws a lot of fan theories out the window. Everyone naturally assumed Prime and the games would share the same cast like previous Sonic cartoons, but I suppose not?
This development explains a lot about why Sword and Shield came out like they did. They were probably made on the side alongside this 2022 to bide some time.
It would be nice if we could get more 3DS remasters after this. The likes of Ever Oasis come to mind, considering Grezzo is doing this version of Miitopia and it's another late gen 3DS release that got slept on.
I'd like to see all previous stages from the first two games return. I think Splatoon 2 missed a few from 1. A shake up of the stage rotation would be nice too, it can get repetitive doing the same couple of maps for several hours at a time. It made sense in the beginning when we only had a few maps, but I think it's not necessary in it's current form.
@Dethmunk There's little to no hiding in RE7. And the creepy house part is pretty on point for RE, it's following almost the exact formula of the original game in it's structure.
@TheFrenchiestFry I doubt the new consoles helped either.
@Dezzy Crash 4 was included in the new year PSN sale too for half price. I think a decent chunk of people who held off because of the price jumped in there. The sales numbers are definitely higher than Gamston, though obviously not N Sane trilogy levels (I'm not sure that would be possible anyway, that game was a very special case imo). I think Crash 4 is going to be a slow burner, and a Switch port would boost sales. But yeah, it's not gonna do 15 million; maybe 5 million at the end of it all. I just hope Activision doesn't do the probable thing and assume that just because a 3D platformer doesn't always sell CoD numbers, it means it's not worth pursuing and we get more Crash and Spyro in future.
@Octane I think it's possible the Sony part of the rumour may have changed. A few months ago some of Japan Studios left Sony to form their own independent team, including the Silent Hill/Siren creator (who was naturally rumoured to be involved) and they said they're working on a horror game.
Could be that Konami decided to instead go multiplatform and part ways with Sony, bringing some of their developers with them. Purely speculation on my end though, and it doesn't even guarantee a Switch release depending on how far along this thing has been in the works for - if at all.
@nessisonett it can sell a ton while also being underrated and forgotten about. It hasn't been much talked about since 3D World came out on Wii U, and that game's improvements seemed to make a lot of people overlook it. Before that I think things were certainly different though, and I think it's omission is bringing it back into people's minds again.
@Xylnox The first time the cast was replaced was because Sega wanted to unify the voices between the games and Sonic X. The second time was the X actors contracts expired and Sega didn't renew them. This third time is probably a repeat of the first where the Netflix show is going to have it's own cast and Sega wants the games to use the same voices.
This would be great, especially if the speculation of an Adventure remake ends up being real. Although Ryan did also reaudition for Sonic Colours, but never got it because Sega wanted him to drop his union. I don't know if he's still unionised or if Sega still cares about that (probably do), but it'll determine how this goes I think.
@Lukandon I think you misunderstood my comment completely. When I said Colours had the best writing, I was speaking strictly in terms of the games Pontaff wrote. I was telling you that the stuff they wrote after that only got worse from there, so if you thought Colours was the worst, you don’t know the half of it. Their writing is all bad, but the fact that Colours was their "best" says a lot.
It feels like we're getting a Colours type of brand refresh for the 30th anniversary. Roger Craig Smith departing as Sonic, Pontaff gone, Tyson Hesse saying Sega aren't going to return to Classic Sonic "wholesale", on a recent stream Aaron Webber said not to expect Green Hill anytime soon. Things are adding up.
@MontyCircus Woolly World wasn't negatively reviewed? And Xenoblade was received quite well also, only a few points below Twilight Princess HD on metacritic. Odd.
This movie basically didn't even get a theatre run in many countries due to lockdowns. I wonder how it would have fared in a different timeliness, the RE films all did pretty well in spite of their quality after all, so this could've been a hit too. Also makes me wonder if they'll push ahead with a sequel even with the money lost on this.
@TheFullAndy The first Resident Evil film is pretty alright as well imo. Apocalypse too, but you can see the rot that infested every subsequent sequel setting in. It still has it's moments though.
@jtmnm I think we can put the blame on Nintendo for that (and Prime 4). Seems like it was announced just to reassure people the ports of the first 2 wasn't all that was planned and they were barely in preproduction at the time.
@tourjeff perhaps it isn't using any assets from 1 or 2 and it's a total overhaul.

@MetalMan No because that was Microsoft team emulating the 360.

Re: Random: Artist Reimagines EarthBound As A Modern 3D Game Series
@shining_nexus Yeah the ads were in a claymation style. It's probably what Itoi would do if he made a new Mother game now the technology can do it.

Hope this includes a delay for Balan Wonderworld. I want that game to be good, I really do, but it needs more time in the oven.
Re: Video: Harvest Moon And Story Of Seasons' First Half Hour, In This Side-By-Side Comparison
Seems like the Harvest Moon games are slowly getting better, some of the previous ones looked much worse than this.

@Kilamanjaro for once Pokemon fans can't put all the blame on Game Freak with this game, cause they aren't making it.

Re: Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection Slices Up The Nintendo Switch This June
@JeanPaul Sort of. They changed some things, added others. Some fans prefer the non Sigma versions but they're still solid.
Re: Switch Exclusive Project Triangle Strategy Looks Set To Scratch That Final Fantasy Tactics Itch
@Julien It'll probably just drop the Project and stay as Triangle Strategy. That's what they did with Octopath.

@michellelynn0976 I do not think Nintendo cares about E3. Why would they pay them money for a digital event, when they can just... do their own.
Re: Platinum Seems To Have Explained Why It's So Quiet About Bayonetta 3
Aaaand people are still reading too much into it/interpreting different meanings entirely. Some things never change.

This was obvious to anyone who could pay attention, but it's nice for them to make it clear for anyone else.

I found some GBA ones for Mega Man & Bass and the GBA Sonic games.

They still have a bit of that crunchyness to them, but the sample quality is much higher.

Re: Nintendo Will Discuss Upcoming Switch Games "At The Appropriate Time"

"OMG there's only 5 1st party games in 2021!" That have been announced. Its only just turned February.

@NEStalgia To be honest Boom handled the humorous tone that Pontaff were aiming for far better. It was actually capable of being funny.

@Lukandon I am totally serious. Lost World and Forces make Colours look like Citizen Kane.

@RupeeClock I would say the fifth era. The modern era's last game was Black Knight, after that things moved into the nostalgia/meta era in 2010.

@Lukandon Sonic Colours was their best writing job. It only got worse from there.

Re: The Monster Hunter Movie Gets A Second Bite At Success Via March Home Release
Re: Video: Here's What The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D Could Potentially Look Like On Switch
Wouldn't a video of the game running in Citra at 1080p be more effective than an AI upscaled trailer?

@Captain_Toad I would wager he did play either of those versions, which would be why he thought it was a letdown.
@Ocaz I find I keep doing that myself too.

Let's be real, we didn't need a rumour to know Diamond and Pearl remakes are on the way. You just have to look at history.

Interesting he's been playing it on the Pro. I would have assumed he has a PS5, which would run it much better.
