As you may have seen, our Nintendo Life Indie Spotlight opened with Toree 2; in case you missed it, its predecessor Toree 3D gained quite a number of fans as word of mouth spread about its cool blend of '90s-style polygons and sharp 3D platforming. Like its predecessor it only costs €0,99 / $0.99USD, so it costs you less than... well, most things nowadays.
That's hard to resist, and below is the feature list from the eShop store page:
- More late 90s low poly aesthetic
- Fast gameplay, flow focused levels
- Weird elements make a comeback.
- 9 levels with unique elements
- Some secret characters to unlock
- The epic conclusion of the ice cream arc
Are you planning to grab this for a bit of colourful platforming fun? Let us know in the comments!

Wonder if this'll be just as twisted as the original or not.
The first one was really fun and I loved the music. Will definitely download this.
A whole buck? BOUGHT!
I was going to pick this up, but now that I know there's a whole ice cream arc that this is concluding, maybe I should start with the original.
Or I guess just spend another dollar for both and not be so frugal my whole life
This game looks like a lot of fun so I bought it (and at $1, come on). Is Toree 3D considered the first game?
Played the first game and loved it. Saw this listed in the coming soon section on the EShop and nearly screamed.
@tekoii yeah, it is.
@KiraMoonvalley and the only way to complete trophies is if you don't have a life
@GamingBread Thanks... Looks like I'm buying another game ^^!
Enjoyed the first one so yes
Toree 3D ruled! Already have Toree 2 downloaded🤘🏽
Ooh, the fire level (level 4) has some Donkey Kong Country like music. Very nice.
Just one buck...
Fading afternoon looks good.
Went to have a nostril on the eShop but it’s currently down for (scheduled?) maintenance.
I'm playing this game rn. It's a blast and the music is pretty kick ass, though it was set so low by default. Definitely worth me gold points
On youtube is Toree 2 full game playthrough, this game lasts only 17 mins...
No you don't understand, I'm OBSESSED
The first game was brilliant - felt great to control and had a wonderful aesthetic. Very here for quality bite-sized experiences that only cost a buck!
@czdjax Which is why at $1 it's great! I feel like it just needs more content, there's plenty to love here..
Oh nice, first game was cool. I’m down!
definitely getting at this price; the first game was short but super fun.
Been excited for this first one is a family favorite in my house, instant buy when the eshop comes back up!
Buying ASAP
@KiraMoonvalley How dare you insult my Toree...
No hard feelings tho.
If it's only a 20 minute game, not even worth a dollar to me. Even as a kid I went by my own system of a game is a good deal/worthwhile if it costs $2 per hour of entertainment. But then again I'm still poor..
Ha, I saw this in my Youtube suggestions and thought it was from April 10th thanks to the silly European dating. Glad it was also promoted on the main page or I would have skipped it.
Is NL adverse to the UK. We don't have bucks or euros.
@zool ironically it's a UK based site. I don't get it either.
Better than the first game. More of a focus on flow and speed. The controls are honestly pretty good, and I like the aesthetic. Could definitely be blown out into a bigger game... would pay $4.99 for that.
