2016's Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection pulls together the three entries that showcase the charismatic Ezio Auditore da Firenze, one of the franchise's most popular protagonists – and if a new rumour is to be believed, it's coming to Switch soon.
The pack – which was released previously on PS4 and Xbox One – includes Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations, as well as all of the single-player DLC for those titles. Also included are two bonus short films which fill out the character's backstory.

The source for this particular rumour is Direct Feed Games, a Twitter account that has a fairly solid track record for leaks and reports. The account seems pretty sure about it, too:
Switch already has a few Assassin's Creed titles thanks to The Rebel Collection and Assassin's Creed III – there's also a cloud version of Odyssey. Given the age of this particular collection, this could well be legitimate – but what do you think? Let us know if you'd like to replay Ezio's adventures on your Switch by posting a comment below.

"Download required. See back."
Revelations interests me as it is set in Turkey, and I'll consider it if that is included on a cart, but this is another easy skip otherwise.
Best? Assassins Creed feels like an oversaturated thing from the 7/8/9 gen console era.
Let me guess, full price and bloated filesize? Sorry, but no Ubi
I mean, it still a Ubisoft game. Ubisoft, a company that has done even less to change its methods of internal toxicity than Activision has.
I’ve been waiting for this. Looks like a triple dip is in order.
One of the best gaming trilogies of the century. But if you can play them someplace else, do that
Man, I only ever played II, wanted to play the others... Hm...
Ah yes! The start of something interesting that ended with a bloated mess of milking money.
Surprised it took this long.
There ya have it. Day 1
As far as Ubisoft games go, this is one of the better options.
...now let's see how broken it is/how huge the download will be.
Just put all 3 games on the cartridge and I will throw 60$ at you Ubisoft!
Surprised this has taken this long. I expected them to arrive not long after the Switch released.
@CharlieGirl I guess it all depends on where you draw your lines. There’s still plenty of decent people who worked on these games and it depends on who’s gonna be responsible for doing the port. I’d be more than happy supporting someone like Feral Interactive. At the end of the day you’re playing the game on a plastic environmental disaster put together by Chinese slaves using rare metals mined by African children.
No thanks for me, I am not a fan of these games, but I am happy for those who want it.
@nessisonett Fair point. Guess if we really break it down we are guilty of supporting bad practices. Can't be outraged why simultaneously supporting the very thing you are against.
I never could really get into this series. I did really enjoy oddysey tho.
Never got into this series for whatever reason. I think I was a little turned off by the rate at which they churned out sequel after sequel. I heard the one with pirates is the best one.
If all 3 games are complete on the cart I'll buy it but that's not going to happen so it will be a pass.
I like Ezio a whole lot. Definitely the most memorable character overall from assassins creed. I thought the tag line said “includes the three best games in the series” honestly wouldn’t debate that.
@Meteoroid Well, in it's heyday particularly AC2, it was quite something. it gave you a giant map to explore and the ability to just about go anywhere. Sure, ubisoft decided to milk it for all it's worth, but for a brief moment in history AC2 was quite a game no had ever seen before.
But typical ubisoft sees quantity over quality so pretty much things go downhill.
Just a tad late, wouldn't you say, Ubi? Why on ****s bananas would you release 3 & 4 so far back then wait this long for Ezio? I'm half-way through this collection on PS4, holding off playing my Wii U and Switch copies of 3 & 4 until I've finished with Ezio.
Only a comprehensive physical package will win me over here Ubisoft. The ball is in your court.
@MrHonest I'm not sure how caring about a toxic work environment is being woke. Sure it doesn't affect you, doesn't mean you aren't allowed to care.
I mean support whoever you want if you don't feel anything over it, but if someone who does care and doesn't want to show support then it has nothing to do with wokeness...like at all...
A ***** company is a ***** company.
@OldManHermit
Black Flag is the piratey one, and my favourite. I personally believe they missed the opportunity for a fresh IP there as it is very light on the assassin stuff & introduced enough piratey stuff to justify a new series.
@YusseiWarrior3000 if previous ports are any indication, they won't run too well on Switch. Plus not to mention it's gonna be more expensive for Switch. If you can't play them anywhere else then it's fine I suppose
I love it if true. Also UbiSoft we need a port of Rayman Origins for Switch. I enjoy that one more so than the original and Legends. Of all the ports of Rayman Origins only the Nintendo ones are not in HD yet.
@Kayvoo - good call, I agree and I'd definitely buy into a new IP based on the piratey stuff.
Really enjoyed Blak Flag (apart from one stealth section until I got the knack) but 3 was a dull slog.
I'd definitely buy this collection, unless it's as borked at launch as 3 was.
@MrHonest True. Unless you have any human decency or compassion, that shouldn't matter at all
Best AC? Its funny how people have rose tinted glasses with the Ezio Trilogy, they were fantastic in their day but have aged a lot and not in a good way. I feel Unity launch issues aside perfected the AC2 formula.
@nessisonett Its why i don't boycott or take this moral highground because if i boycot Ubi but still happily have my internet, wear my nice clothes, have my flashy phone and have my consoles and so on then i'm a hypocrite. Ubi are evil but they aren't even in the top 50 of common known Corps who have done awful vile things.
@WallyWest Actually, you don't have to take a moral high ground at all. I don't support ubisoft for many reasons. But in all honesty we humans are all hypocrites in one way or another.
With that said I also believe things don't have to be a certain way but we allow them to be. Ultimately everyone is to blame for something. Can't put it all on corporate when consumers keep giving them power to do so.
There are plenty of smaller companies however that lack the support gamers could be giving to rather than the big ones. but consumers will buy whatever gives that dopamine rush
@mariopartyfan68 same here.
It was only a matter of time surely with more advanced AC games running on switch. This will be day one for me.
I dare Ubisoft to put Assassins Creed Unity on Switch. That game turned PS4 into a jet engine.
@YusseiWarrior3000 I'm not really. Look at how the previous remaster runs on Switch. Not a fair comparison at all especially with such a high price tag. But like I said, if you can't play it anywhere else...
@Lem1697 Black Flag ran pretty well on Switch. Rogue had some glitch problems but that was in the original versions too I think but it ran well though. A3 was a different story but they patched it ever since
@Lem1697 If you are talking about the rebel collection the price is completely fair if you ask me.
You get 2 Assassin’s Creed games in one. $19.99 each game so adds up to $39.99. Also the Rebel Collection is only exclusively on Switch if I recall correctly.
Also Ubisoft games go on sale quite often so if you want to pick it up cheaper then wait for a sale
@OldManHermit yeah that is Black Flag
Run that!
And it'll likely have gyro aiming in addition to being a console version and handheld version and portable console tabletop version all in one.
I've been waiting for this. It's horrible on PC because it's so old, the button prompts are for Xbox controllers and keyboard only, which sucks because I use PS5 controller for the Gyro. It's a bad experience as a result. And the console versions don't have Gyro.
This will be the best version of the trilogy, bar none.
Price will be a big factor for me here…
I think these are on sale right now on PS for what I’d call a reasonable price. Hopefully Switch’s aren’t substantially price hiked… although I’d be paying $60 for 2 brand new games, and 3 overall. I’d call it pretty fair to be honest…
(Coming from someone who loved 2 but hasn’t played ANY after 2.)
I could see the collection being popular for folks like me and not for seasoned vets.
December Direct incoming.....?
Really cool if true. II, Brotherhood, Revelations, Black Flag, and Rouge are probably the best in the series before it went full open world. And with this collection, they’d all be on Switch. Sweet. Also, shoutout to Syndicate. That game was a lot of fun.
Seeing how Ac3 "remaster" looked on switch , i dont have high hopes
@Gwynbleidd it’s 100% going to require an additional download. Revelations alone with DLC was 9GB and that was on PS3. Ezio Collection without patches is circs 38GB on PS4/Xbox. Even if Ubisoft uses only PS3 assets (hopefully they won’t, I’m positive it’ll be a port of the Ezio Trilogy and not of the 3 og releases) a 16GB cart would not be enough and they sre not going to pay for a 32GB cart.
Yes, I want this. Thanks
These are among the best games in the franchise, especially Assassins Creed 2 (my favourite) and Brotherhood. Black Flag and Rogue were pretty good ports so I'm not too pessimistic when it comes to potential ports. I'm definitely double dipping if these make their way to the Switch
Pretty sure this will cost more than I would want to spend - especially given you can pick it up elsewhere for less than. £15
Shame the switch can't handle the newer Ubisoft games though as I would have liked to play AC Valhalla or Farcry 6 on the go.
If it's going to be like Starlink: Battle for Atlas, which notified about a 4GB download on the box that turned out to be an almost 10GB one when everything was said and done, then it'll be a pass for me.
One of the most overrated and tired video game franchises of all time. Hard pass for me.
The most surprising thing about this is that it took them this long to figure this out.
4 was the best, I already have that and did play the others as well, and therefore I'll probably skip unless the price goes really low, and somehow I end up with no other games on my Switch... Good news is that by the time I got through the ones I already have, a Ubisoft game will be pretty cheap. So if it all happens like that, it may get ahead of others on my wishlist, for being a lot of content I know to be good, at a low price, on a good handheld.
@CharlieGirl Thanks for trying to convince us, yet again, what to do with our money.
I'm game if true. I like the series, but using Nintendo consoles as my primary platform means I've missed out on more recent entries. I played (but not finished) the very first on a relative's Xbox 360 back in the day and have also played/finished both III and IV/Black Flag. Never experienced the greatness of Ezio.
@YusseiWarrior3000 @Tyranexx Okay, the fact that you both decorated your icons is excellent.
NINJA APPROVED
@BloodNinja It is the season of joy after all
@YusseiWarrior3000 Looks fantastic
@Zuljaras LOL that’s cool, I love it.
I must be one of the few gamers that hasn't ever played AC. I was always put off by that combination of high frequency releases and mainstream sales of the franchise - much like COD and FIFA - always made me assume (rightly or wrongly) it would be a paint by numbers job, with gameplay elements that don't respect my time, and that I ultimately wouldn't enjoy, so I avoided them.
This'll be at a basement price in 12 months and l may have a look at it then. Playing it handheld is attractive for sure.
Nate The Bait had another anal leak today, oh well…
Hmm. Could be great but could also be awful. Depends on if they are going to take the time to ensure it runs well. If the performance isn’t there there just isn’t much point.
My favourite assassin's creed games already got the collection wonder what took it so long to come to switch & why they've even bothered now
Ah memories 😭 but I don’t really have any interest in replaying these games. I still look back on this trilogy fondly though, Ezio is one of the greats and it’s worth a play if you’re a fan of the series.
Cool...
Btw Ubisoft is still an incredibly abusive company that still deserves the same amount of spotlight ActiBlizz is getting right now but isn't because the tactic of "make people forget" is sadly working right now.
@CharlieGirl No company/person is perfect or infallible, if they can change themselves for the better then they can be redeemed.
However, scumbags like Bobby Kotick can never undo the damage they have done and need to be removed from their position of power.
So wait, has Ubisoft ever re-released the 1st Assassin's Creed game on modern consoles yet?
Why skip over the 1st game?
i do not care much for assassin's creed, but if this does turn out to be real, it might be cool for people who like these games
now if they were to put some Far Cry games on the switch, then i might be interested (seriously why have there been no far cry games on the switch yet?)
I'd like to see the first game get ported too. It has it's own charms that later games didn't expand on, and feels unique. Also wonder if we'll ever get some Watch Dogs ports. The first game at least is an easy port.
@Mr-X9000 Yeah, there's a lot of older Ubi titles that would be easy sells on Switch. Far Cry, Splinter Cell, Rayman, etc.
@Orpheus79V yeah, i could totally see some of the older Far Cry games be ported over to switch, same with Splinter Cell and Rayman now that i think about it (and the original Assassin's Creed and possibly Watch_Dogs 1 for that matter), yet they do not do that, which i find quite strange
I've never played any of the Ezio AC games. Mainly because I've never had a PS360 and I don't have a PS4 or an XB1, but I do have a Switch so this would be a great opportunity for me.
@Orpheus79V I'd like to see them revisit the idea that they had for Killer Freaks From Outer Space before they changed it to ZombiU (which would be another great game for the Switch).
Assassins creed 2 is one of the best ever video games - loved every minute of it.
The absolute pinnacle of the series.
I hope that is true , but i also hope for a reduced prince as well
I bought these new on ps4 for 12 pounds in April. It will never be that cheap on Switch, at least not for a very long time.
I want the one set in London on Switch.
Wait? Its ok to like Ubisoft but not Activision? Why exactly?
Hold up! There is a cloud version of Odyssey on switch? Dare I ask...is it any good?
Needs to be physical or no buy for me. But I loved these games so would enjoy playing through them again.
@CharlieGirl Honestly, I don't care about it. All I care is the games they make, and they make good ones.
Ports of Syndicate and Unity would have been better.
Glad we are are getting this. Would be even more happier if there were Far Cry 3 and 4.
When people say "download required" do they not realize that a physical copy still downloads to the switch? If you read the back of every physical copy of a game it tells you that you need space on your memory card for data. Just because you have a physical copy of a game, it doesn't mean there won't be content downloaded.
