I'm surprised this game did decently enough for them to bank on making a sequel for it. If this gets a demo I might give it a try. I tried the first game's demo and the ideas it tried were pretty cool, but I never felt like spending money to get it, not even in sales.
@AshFoxX Exactly. At this point all a direct would be good for is to cover the Smash Ballot stuff. A direct for general games woudl be pointless as there's nothing new, and we already had plenty of mediocre and unnecessary directs that talked about the same things we already knew about. Which is why we don't need directs for that just yet. For the Ballot? Yeah. For games we've heard enough of? No.
I suppose something talking more about M&L and Pokken for example would be nice since they've been left in the dark compared to the other stuff, but it could go either way.
@mariovslink62 Xenoblade is exactly the one thing I'm getting this year. Every other game they announced is incredibly uninteresting, they seem like filler eShop games like Dillon and HarmoKnight instead of complete and worthwhile games. And even then, Dillon and HarmoKnight are worth getting more than butchered multiplayer A Link Between Worlds, Chibi-Robo's death bed and Animal Crossing boiled down to only one of its features. Not to mention these are selling at retail price, like, just no.
I just want Xenoblade, M&L: Paper Jam, Hyrule Warriors Legends and Pokken. The only games I can expect to be at least decent and worth getting. Everything else is just a waste. Really wish the Wii U and 3DS didn't get hit by such a drought, cause this is frustrating. I rarely touch my 3DS now, and the only games I play constantly on Wii U are Smash 4, Mario Maker and Hyrule Warriors. It's the only few good games and it gets boring after a while when there's nothing good to look forward to so I'm not stuck with a small library.
Stop being entitled and be patient.
I'm annoyed that they haven't announced a damn thing when it's been like 3 weeks since the ballot ended, but even then you don't need to go be nasty to Nintendo on Twitter or any other media you find.
Why do people want Directs specifcally for anyway? We already know what games are coming (really lackluster ones at that, all from this terrible E3), we just have to wait. Maybe ask Nintendo on social media nicely or something, but there's no need to be an ass to them the way people have been. With childish actions like those, people don't deserve anything.
@shaneoh I got the shallow gameplay from the demo. There's like no options other than mashing the same button 4-5 times then maybe a different button to get a different finisher. It's boring and has no depth.
I'm not asking for a SF-esque complicated fighter, but I'd rather have one where I have a few more options other than mindlessly pressing the same button to pull off predetermined combos string.
@holygeez03 I'm only wondering because of the constant usage of N3DS when showing off games now, like in the two pictures there.
Games like Binding of Isaac are simple enough yet they are N3DS only, so I have to ask for other things such as Terraria and this because you just never know and I'd rather make sure.
@BenAV I was about to say the same thing. This guy just looks like an idiot. Sometimes I get "don't move" stages with Japanese titles where I couldn't really tell. But just from glancing at a spring coming from somewhere to hit me after dying once and starting over, it's enough to realize what you need to do (or rather, not do).
I would get this but the game feels a bit too boring judging from the demo. I'm not into complicated fighters, but this one doesn't feel like it has any depth or reward to it either. It's just button mashing to get the exact same predetermined combos.
Don't care about this game at all, I had a feeling it wasn't going to be any good, much like HHA. 3DS is slowing down until Paper Jam comes out, or maybe even Hyrule Warriors Legends.
@akaDv8R Ah, now I do remember that thing about Famitsu's mascot being Mystery Mushroom costume.
I'm not sure if I feel that falls as DLC or just ONE extra bit of content for Japanese players, but in the end I just hope we get more options for creation and a much better way to search for levels and makers than the limited options we have now. The SMM stage in SMsh doesn't help the game's case either, there's so many things in that stage that don't appear at all as options when creating. Why is that?
@rjejr This is pretty much what I hope happens. The Splatoon approach sounds like the best thing to do for a game of this kind. Splatoon has so many things they just keep dropping to keep the game from getting stale, especially when it started out with very few things to it.
SMM feels similar in that regard, in that there's so many other things missing that are present in across Mario games. Slopes, water and lava tiles for general placement outside of underwater and castle themes, pipes that don't forcibly lead to sub-areas, etc. Then there's enemies like the Fishin' Boo (and Fishin' Lakitu), Eeries, Hotheads, Pokeys, Sumo Brothers, and others I can't remember. Not to mention we could get a SMB2 theme or Land or other things, there's plenty of 2D Mario to use besides the main ones.
Don't see why this is such a big deal. I don't use 3D anymore, so this is fine. I'm curious as to who else will be added though. I expect more Toon characters like Vaati, Toon Zelda and Toon Ganondorf, but who else is a possibility from the non-Toon games?
If they choose to throw in the more classic side of Zelda games as well, we could get characters from Seasons, Ages, A Link Between Worlds, etc.. Characters like Yuga, Onox, Veran, maybe even Nayru and Din would be nice to see.
@DarthNocturnal Not odd at all. The article even explains why it makes sense...
Monolith Soft worked on Xenoblade and Xenosaga. Not only that, but the fact that "spoiler Fiora" gets paired up with KOS-MOS due to both being mechanical just make even more sense as a pair. Maybe they would've rather leave Shulk as a support we don't know about yet, it's more logical that way.
I have no idea who he is, but I hope he captures that Nintendo charm that Iwata used to show so often. Not expecting him to force himself to be Iwata 2.0, but as long as he's not stuck up AND does his job well, he'll be fine with me. That's easily what separates Nintendo with the likes of Sony and Microsoft, the fact that they're so playful and out there with their fans.
I can't stand the 'New' series. I personally hope they go back to the way they used to be with older 2D Mario games, but I think Super Mario Maker will do a decent enough job at giving me the fix I've been wanting.
I could always go back and play Super Mario All-Stars or World if I want their type of gameplay, I suppose.
I don't see why the wheel matters. I'd rather have the "full" game for the usual Wii U bundle price rather than have a base Mario Kart 8 that comes with some grip for motion control usage when motion control in MK8 is meh.
As someone that tends to prefer digital over physical (at least on 3DS, and sometimes on Wii U if the games aren't big), this is great.
My credit card doesn't cooperate with Nintendo for whatever reason so having this workaround (other than having to buy eShop cards via e-mail from Walmart or Target) is rather welcomed from me. Here's hoping they add more content besides just Nintendo first party titles. Stuff like indies and other general releases would be nice to get this way too.
@Squid_Gangster I'm not, because I have no need for a N3DS. If I DID get one at some point, though, I'd probably get a face plate for something I like (like a Xenoblade face plate for example) and stick with it.
I'm not one for mindlessly spending money on little things so I'd probably shell out some just to get something if I really want it and that'd be good enough for me.
I'd rejoice if it looked nicer inside and if I cared about HHA.
Either way, it's about damn time. One could probably just get this bundle and get face plates off of the other regions that have variety already, no problem.
@PolarKoalaBear I think that's fair. Reviews aren't 100% accurate, it's still the reviewer(s)'s opinions, they just exist to better help consumers know what decision to take.
I think the way they have been discussing Devil's Third has been fine, but that's just me. They honestly look like they think the game could've been great, but is held back by bugs and other types of issues. That helped me decide not to get it, as I was mildly intrigued for a while.
@TheWPCTraveler Yeah, a very sad audience. And I have seen interviews, the dude just comes off as incredibly disgusting, and so does anyone that supports this type of trash.
@Lalivero No I wouldn't? Way to miss the entire point.
Golden Sun isn't even indie. It's Nintendo.
I never even mentioned Daisy either. The only character I'm seriously pushing for is Isaac. I hate Daisy and I didn't mention anyone else in my reasoning, so I don't now where you're pulling that from. I want a DLC newcomer to be Nintendo, but I still want it to be a reasonable choice. I thought that was obvious.

I completely forgot about it after NL took huge dumps on it with its review and other coverage.

About time ZeRo loses. Glad my boy Nairo of all people took him out, too. Well deserved.
Re: Review: Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (Wii U)
Is the free-to-start demo for this out already, or will it come out on the 22nd when the game comes out too (NA eShop)?
I mean I guess it's really a free-to-start and you buy the rest so I assume the 22nd, but I wanna make sure anyway.

I'm not surprised this game sucks. Looked boring from the start, even the multiplayer.
Re: Review: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden (3DS)
7/10? Really?
It has no online and the gameplay is incredibly shallow. That enough should make it a 6/10 or less.
