SteamWorld Heist is one of the biggest download games confirmed for 3DS this year, and developer Image & Form has provided another update on its progress.
The title is said to be "nearing completion" before going off to Nintendo for approval, and as proof the studio has confirmed final ratings for each region, with Germany's USK board clearly being the pickiest.
The last stretch is all about polishing, bug fixing, balancing, proof-reading and tweaking to make the very best game we possibly can. It's going to be worth the wait. So stay tuned for more news regarding release date, price and other cool details in the near future.

The studio has also released a couple of new screenshots, showing a fight with Scrapper thugs and one of the game's bars.

This is gonna be playable on regular 3DS as well, right?
dig was lots of fun. im happy to see them switch it up for the sequel.
Damn straight, I'm looking forward to this!
I loved SteamWorld Dig so much that I bought it on 3DS, Wii U, Vita and PS4. I've probably played through it a good 7 or 8 times, too. Yet something tells me that Heist will be even better still. Fingers crossed.
The visual atmosphere they are achieving here is really cool.
I wonder if providing functionality for the New 3DS control stick delayed the release? Wish this came out soon since I only play my 3DS while traveling and I won't be going anywhere around the holidays...
@AcesHigh73
I can understand having a game on a portable and home console... but why in the world would you buy it 4 times?
@sWiTcHeRoO
It doesn't seem remotely possible that the developer would make a game that can't be played on 50+ million regular 3DS devices!
@holygeez03 I'm only wondering because of the constant usage of N3DS when showing off games now, like in the two pictures there.
Games like Binding of Isaac are simple enough yet they are N3DS only, so I have to ask for other things such as Terraria and this because you just never know and I'd rather make sure.
If the game has a similar price to Dig then count me in.
@holygeez03 Adding support for the C-stick was a fast process We're just making sure to polish the game as much as possible!
@sWiTcHeRoO Yes it is 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, New 3DS and New 3DS XL
Hmm awesomeness! Steamworld Dig is pretty fun, if slightly simplistic and frustrating. Hope there will be a demo of this?
@imageform sweet! I got a N3DS and a 3DS XL.
All my datas on my N3DS though.
I might have to pick this up if I ever get free funds lol.
have you got a targeted price point?
