@ThomasBW84 @rjejr Would cutting the price down really be good for Nintendo right now? Things just look bleak to me as it is, if they drop its price they won't be making as much as they should.
Either way I got one refurbished straight from them for $225 with Nintendo Land + 3D World which was a great deal imo. The damn thing came and it looked and felt like brand spanking new, even, which surprised me as I expected it to have signs of wear due to being refurbished. If you want a Wii U for cheaper just go for that, it's perfect and I honestly do not regret it, even if the Wii U's library disappoints me greatly, the console itself was good for said price.
Oh hell yeah. Glad I can get even more value out of the Humble Ninde Bundle (if it makes my game purchases off of that valid, since I do own some of those from it).
Definitely want to get both Trines and Shantae, just need to budget it out and see how I can do this.
Not interested in multiplayer games. I don't really have people to play anything with locally and my internet is super bad so it's single player or I'm not buying jack.
@ManateeBlubber There's nothing wrong with branching out as long as what they do isn't too different from what thousands of fans have been clamoring for for the longest time now. It's just a kick in the face.
@carlos82 Amen. The only good thing was Paper Jam, only because I love all the Mario & Luigi games and can trust them with making yet another great addition to the series.
Focusing on showing upcoming software isn't bad in itself, I think the issue here was how lackluster said titles were. Their E3 was pretty much a generic Direct, full of mostly the same damn things they've been showing for a while or have already plugged before recently (Yoshi, Mario Maker, Chibi Robo, etc.). Then they just threw in some new games that aren't really interesting at all, except for Paper Jam.
If they would've decided on making better games rather than these seemingly boring ones, or if they would've shown glimpses of games that might come next year (y'know, new games, not stuff like Hyrule Warriors Legends), then maybe we wouldn't be having this discussion. But they effed up with their line-up, disappointed many, and here we are.
It's a shame that they're being so slow with this. As soon as we got Partners in Time (possibly due to Paper Jam's future release) I got high hopes for Bowser's Inside Story, as it's the only M&L I've never been able to finish, but at the rate they work on these it's probably going to be a good while.
I don't really care much for Virtual Console as honestly it's very easy to get them by... other means. The only ones I'd like would be DS games due to performance issues on my computer, but other than that I don't care for VC.
If the games were bundled together by some service or if they were cheaper I would get them, but at their current prices, nahh.
@Rhydas An amiibo-centric game probably wouldn't be that great of an idea when they're already screwing up with providing enough amiibo for everyone. Technically it's already happening with the new Animal Crossing games but I get what you mean.
A Skylanders/Disney Infinity-esque game with Nintendo's amiibo being the focus would be interesting, the only issue is not being able to take full advantage of that because everyone takes the rarer amiibo in the blink of an eye and they're almost never available for their real price because of scalpers.
If they ever make original amiibo for their amiibo-centric game (as in, not use SSB amiibo and make new ones like they did for Mario Party) then maybe it'd work, but I still don't think it's going to unless they get their act together with the issues they have with amiibo.
@Kaze_Memaryu I thought the exact same thing while watching this. I'm mildly interested just because Hyrule Warriors on Wii U got me slightly hooked on musou gameplay and this seems like a lot less barebones than what they did for HW (since obviously they tried to make it simple for Zelda fans to enjoy easily). But man does that framerate look bad on every bit of 3DS footage...
I'll personally wait for NL's review on this before I do anything. An eShop demo would've been neat too but not many devs even do that unfortunately.
@xPH03N1Xx86 It's so annoying when people pull the spin-off card. What does it matter if it's a spin-off? It's not what people wanted, and to top it off it seldom gives good first impressions for many reasons. Main game, spin-off, crossover or whatever, it's not good. No one asked for it, it's not what anyone has been waiting for, hence the disappointment.
People that say that fans should chill out need to stop. The game was shown at E3, developers and companies show new things to receive first impressions. Negative impressions are just as valid as positive ones. People that get hype over a game don't get any kind of flack, but why do people get upset when people have horrendous first impressions towards something, especially when it's with good reason?
MP:FF looks terrible on its own, it's only insult to injury that they slap the Metroid name to this random garbage and then have the nerves of hoping that fans that have been waiting a good while for a real Metroid game will just suck it up and take this all the same. This isn't Metroid, we don't like it, and it's just as valid as feeling positively towards something based on first impressions.
Fans have been blowing things out of proportion with stuff such as the petition, yes, but the overall dislike for the game is pretty justified if you ask me. I would personally think it looked awful even if it wasn't "Metroid". Hell, I personally didn't like anything from this generic Direct they had for E3 other than Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. It's just a bunch of lackluster titles no one asks for, with some salvageable ones (Star Fox, Yoshi, M&L, etc.) in the mix.
Regardless of what Nintendo platform it comes out for I'm definitely getting it. Cross platform purchase a-la Mario vs DK? That'd be perfect if you ask me.
I don't care what they do with the NX as long as they don't kill off their attention towards the Wii U. I just got one recently and if they decide to favor NX out of nowhere when the Wii U has barely had enough time around I'm going to be extremely pissed.
Wii U is a good console, it just needs more games, why can't they hop to that and give us good content instead of such a barren library? A new console isn't going to magically fix these problems you know.
@Pandaman My thoughts exactly. They feed us with details for Splatoon but with an even more intricate game like Smash we have to scour for changes outselves. It's stupid.
@RainbowGazelle I was thinking the exact same thing. Akira, Jin and Yuri lost their female partners... I wonder who else was the same.
I mean I like how it looks like with these duo swaps we'll get slightly fresher combinations rather than just having Yuri and Estelle AGAIN for example. With the main character having a different partner it helps keep that MC representation while giving them a fresher moveset, even if Jin/Akira/Yuri still have the same moves themselves, their partners don't.
I'm all for figuring out how to perfectly juggle all the opponents with all new moves and characters. It's the only thing that kept PxZ's awfully repetitive gameplay going for me as a time waster, to the point that I beat it on NG+ about 5 times.
Hell yeah. Glad to see Partners in Time here, it's my favorite Mario & Luigi game.
Now if only they give us Bowser's Inside Story too, I never was able to beat that as I had borrowed it. I'd definitely buy it for myself so I can finally complete it.
At least Wind Waker was still Zelda, all it had was a different art style. Federation Farce doesn't even have the Metroid series' main character for god's sake. It just sounds like a bad comparison to me.
People want an actual Metroid game, a "main series" one so to speak, not this spin-off garbage that doesn't even give Metroid vibes, the only Metroid thing about it is the name plastered onto it.
Give people an actual Metroid game, be it a new 2D classic styled Metroid (like the first ones) or a Prime game that at least, y'know, has Samus. The former for 3DS and the latter for Wii U would've been perfect, but instead they choose to shoot themselves in the foot with this trash.
Seriously, if you know what fans want, why give them something absolutely different from it? This isn't the Metroid people know and like.
As a matter of fact, a ton of things in this E3 are things no one wanted. You can't ignore what fans clamor for and give them something completely different because you think we'll just suck it up and like it anyway. That's just selfish and counterproductive as far as business goes. If they gave us what we wanted we would be excited and we'd be getting all these games, yet look at how E3 did the complete opposite.
Only good thing to come out of Nintendo's E3. Can't wait for more Mario & Luigi, every single game in the series has been fantastic, no doubt this will be too.
@WaveBoy Yeah I just don't really like these videos. They don't feel genuine at all and it makes me cringe just watching how clueless, incompetent and forcibly dumb these kids are. No one would really be that dumb.
@kiigu I don't think it's that bad if you give the codes to friends as a gift or something. They ARE under YOUR ownership now after all. I think it's nicer if you just give out spare keys to people you feel deserve them rather than, say, sell your key to profit off of it on eBay or something like many other people do with bundle keys.
Ehh, could've been better. I did look up Sportsball recently before this bundle so it's nice being able to just try (or rather straight up own) the full game. Plus I've had Runner 2 on Steam but I've never beaten it, so maybe now having it on a good console and not a bad laptop will give me more of an incentive to finish up. Gunman Clive is like $1.99 already so it feels like a waste of potential when better candidates could've taken up the spot. These 3 choices could've been better imo, but I'll take them all the same, they're still good games that'll appeal to others.
I suppose I was hoping for Shantae and the Pirate's Curse or Shovel Knight, but we all know that would've been too good to be true.
I really hope they do these more. The thought of Humble Bundle reaching any console at all never even crossed my mind (especially not Nintendo of all companies). But the fact that it happened and that it had good games AND it did well enough is amazing.
I love Humble Bundle and I'm really hoping this isn't a one-time thing with Nintendo. It's an opportunity that can't be missed. Not only does it helps the developers as per usual with every bundle, but it helps Nintendo as well.
7/10? Really...? Not only is the entire game an extremely repetitive and uninteresting series of quicktime events, the graphics look like a low quality PSP game with no good gameplay to sustain it.

Looks way too much like Galaxy... Not just gameplay-wise but even visually in some areas.
A bit more originally wouldn't hurt.

Oh man, these indie deals are amazing. Hope America gets them too this Thursday, I've been wanting the Trine games as well as Shantae.

@Captain_Gonru They look like cartoon Transformers knock-offs.

Ha. Don't expect anything good to come out of this trashy game. I'm confident the Federation Force half of it is just as bad as Blast Ball.
