Nintendo of America has confirmed the news that some 3DS fans in the region have been waiting for - the smaller New Nintendo 3DS model is coming to North America.

Initially it'll just be released as part of a special Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer bundle; this'll include a white system, the game, two cover plates and an amiibo card for a recommended price of $219.99. It'll arrive on 25th September.

This was announced at the GameStop Manager's Conference, though thankfully there's no mention of that bundle being an exclusive to the retailer. It's also worth noting that the amiibo NFC Read / Write adapter for older 3DS models will land on 25th September at a cost of $19.99.

GameStop does have an exclusive, however, in the form of a Hyrule Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL; it's gold coloured with "an intricate Hylian Crest" on the front. It'll arrive on 30th October, a week after The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes for $199.99 and will be exclusive to GameStop.

GameStop does have a few other smaller exclusives, too. Bowser and Toad Wii Remote Plus designs will come to the retailer on 11th September alongside Super Mario Maker, while a Yoshi design will accompany Yoshi's Woolly World on 16th October. This Fall GameStop will also have a Bowser AR card for the Photo's with Mario 3DS app, which will come with $10 eShop fund cards.

The big news is the arrival of the smaller New Nintendo 3DS in the region. Hopefully stock will be plentiful and, perhaps, more variations will come in the future.
