Re: UK Charts: Switch Games Take Up Eight Of The Top Ten

InTree

I was going to say something about the guy who always talks about PlayStation here to just move to PushSquare, but looks like he either deleted his comments, or blocked me.

Despite all my rage, I'm just a cat in a tree. Although maybe I need an account makeover. What do NintendoLife users say?

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES Library With Seven More Games

@GameOtaku Stinks, but the value is really great for the base tier. Expansion needs a little more meat, but it is getting there. I don't regret getting it (especially for Winback, Star Fox 64, and Sin & Punishment).

Also, most of you guys would repurchase the same games like on the Wii U/3DS. Like Scott the Woz said (and also most of you wanted this subscription in the first place, from his observations).

I think this is the biggest solo release for games in one release (as in, not when a new system dropped with all its games). They release more NES games today, than when they originally dropped the GBA service.

Anyways, hyped for Mach Rider. Smash fans asking for him overjoyed. Uniracers when though?

@kkslider5552000 On what you said about Advance Wars, THANK YOU. The first game ALONE has MORE time you can spend on it than the ENTIRE Crash Trilogy, yet that sold 20 million copies. Sure, Advance Wars is a smaller IP, but the people going "waaaah, 60 bucks is too much for GBA remakes" is crazy.

Crazier because people are buying Luigi's Mansion 2 HD En Mass, which is FAR lazier than the Advance Wars remakes (and 40 dollar game going to 60, verses two 40's going down to 60). And yet IP sells clearly, and not actual quality.

Heck, its cheaper to buy the Advance Wars reboot than to rebuy them on GBA. More expensive to rebuy those on their original system, than to get the remake. Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon is 13 dollars for a complete copy right now, and it was originally 40 dollars. But it is a Mario IP, and Mario fans ogle for Mario games, while most don't go out of that lane, even in their older years. Is trying out games out of your norm that hard?

Re: Talking Point: Could Another Nintendo Series Take Over The 'Traditional' Zelda Template?

InTree

Wow, a lot you people depress me. What do you mean NOTHING can take the place of old Zelda, except Zelda going down that route? It has a certain charm besides the formula, like music? Well then that should be easy to adept to if it was just that, but we know it isn't. You want Zelda to return to its routes, because you folk are too lazy to try other IP.

"Gee, I don't think I'll get the next Nintendo console, because Nintendo ruined Zelda" then play other games on the Switch. Get out of this mindset of "I will ONLY play X franchise and not really too many others on Z console", because it ultimately kills the franchises you guys beg for. You want to know why F-Zero is dead, even though it had that unique feel for a racing game? Well, despite not being that much like Mario Kart, it was going up against Mario, and each game ended up selling less and less. F-Zero being dropped in favor of Mario Kart back then, is why it was dead until 99. And yet there are still games that feel like F-Zero, like Fast RMX.

So, if you want the style of old Zelda (which didn't really kick off until ATTLP to be quite frank), and if you want that atmosphere, memorable characters, and good music to set you in, Startropics. Startropics is the series that should return because it checks all the boxes, and old Zelda has been gone for over a decade. Considering the fact that BOTW/TOTK are still loved, and are the best-selling Zelda games by a country mile, it is time to move on. Petition Nintendo for a Startropics game, or just play games like Tunic. Or give other Nintendo series like Metroid a shot. I know most of you haven't, because the best-selling one is Dread, and that still only sold 3.10 million copies.

Rant over, and also play Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, if you want to play a game that feels like Kid Icarus Uprising (and a lot better than it).

Re: Soapbox: Fire Emblem’s Future May Not Be In Turn-Based Combat

InTree

Mmmmm, guys? 3D Mario's future may not be in platforming. Instead, it may be in rail-shooting, in the vain of Pokemon Snap. Odyssey is the most successful 3D Mario game of all time, and that had an emphasis on photos. So they should ditch the platforming except to reach mountain tops and stuff to take pictures, and the rest can be rail-only.
