Re: We Can't Ignore The Switch, Says Sony's Head Of Corporate Planning

Honelith

I love my Switch and I love my PS4. 2018 looks to be AMAZING for PS4 (Monster Hunter World in Jan also!) but sadly nothing really interests me for the Switch in 2018 (so far), just indie ports and old games I've already played.

I sure hope Nintendo has some nice surprises up its sleeves, I'm guessing 2019 will be a good year for the Switch for the bigger new titles to appear.

Damn, got all excited thinking it was news about a Switch version. :s

RIP Miiverse, it was interesting but I couldn't be bothered to load into it with the sluggish Wii U, but I enjoyed its game integration more in SM3DW for instance.

Re: You Won't Be Able To Download L.A. Noire Without A MicroSD Card

It's like that weird scenario of having to buy a memory card to save your games on the Playstation 1. Now the same thing is happening with games, you need to buy a micro sd to actually load up the game. I wonder how many returns this game gets because people try to play it then realise they need to pay an extra £8 for a micro sd card to play it? Most wil be stuck in that mindset of cart = not digital.

It's very ugly.

Re: Video: You Might Want To Make A Drink Before Watching This Metroid History Feature

Honelith

First played Metroid II in the early 90's on my friends Gameboy, but I never truly got into Metroid until I got Super Metroid for the SNES back in '95 and it was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen in a videogame. Huge bosses, that eerie and unusual soundtrack, spoken dialogue and levels which rotated was impressive to see back in those days, especially for those of us who couldn't afford an Amiga 1200.

Even to this day I still regard Super Metroid as the best platformer ever made, it's just gaming perfection.

Re: Poll: Which is the Best Super Mario Game?

Honelith

My faves are Super Mario Bros. 3 (SNES), Mario 64 (N64), Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), and Super Mario 3D World (WiiU).

The trouble with Mario games is that it's so hard to say which is the best one because they are all incredible titles, each game brings something new, some interesting twist which makes it interesting to play again.

Re: Reggie on Backing Up Your Saves with the Switch

Honelith

For the sake of cost saving with their carts, it's us that face the risk of losing all our hours of game progression. Nintendo needs to make this their absolute priority, we should be able to backup our saves now, not later. Hurry up Nintendo. Sometimes Nintendo seems like they're new to consoles. <_<

Re: Here Are the Key Lessons that Nintendo Learned from the Wii U

I like how versatile the Joy-Cons are and the tiny thumb sticks feel great to use. The Joy-Con grip is fine, I just don't like the tiny cramped shoulder buttons so got the Pro controller and it's the comfiest controller I've ever used, it's a great design. But the Joy-Con is a clever gimmick, 2 controllers straight out of the box is pretty nifty.

Re: Nintendo Publishes New Interview on the Making of Super Metroid

The beginning of Super Metroid is one the best intros to a game. That brilliant opening intro then off to a space colony with a boss fight and explosions then landing on that quiet planet zebes with that eerie music as you figure out which way to go, with no hostiles in sight, like you are being watched, then the planet springs to life with danger when you pick up your ability, when it senses you are a threat. Brilliant.

"The Last Metroid is in captivity. The Galaxy is at peace." I'd never heard voices used in a SNES game before, that was some next gen stuff right there back in the day, I bet it took up most of the cart space.

Ah, I still vividly remember buying the big boxed edition of Super Metroid with that huge players guide in a second hand store because it was impossible to buy in the stores, my best friend offered me many of his SNES games for it.

Platforming perfection.
