Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Donkey Kong Bananza

Honelith

I thought Bananza was some third party title like Mario & Rabbids (very good game), so I didn't pay much attention to it. Then I heard it was being developed by the Odyssey devs and then I was immediately super interested. These early reviews are looking solid.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 13th)

Honelith

Finishing BOTW first before heading into TOTK, still got 2 divine beasts to rescue, so not sure how long it will take to finish (maybe half way through?) but It'll make TOTK a better experience if I can hold my restraint and ignore TOTK sitting on my shelf there. Looking so forward to it though!

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. 35 - A Six-Month Jolt Of Life For An Iconic Classic

Honelith

I'm guessing the Switch will cease to exist in 6 months too? >_>

This looks like fun and it's a cool idea, reminds me of Tetris Attack in the way you could dump garbage blocks onto your enemy's screen to mess them up. I was going to try it but this gone in 6 months malarkey has put me off, but it's just Nintendo sticking with their gimmicky nature.

So I'll just say goodbye SMB. 35 now. See you in 5 years.

Re: Nintendo 3DS Production Has Officially Come To An End

Honelith

My favourite console, I still spend more time on my 3DS then I do on my Switch. With so so many great 3DS games and then you have access to the many, many great DS games, it will be a timeless console, it'll take years to play through the impressive library.

Re: Review: Super Mario 3D All-Stars - Three Of Mario's Greatest Adventures Come To Switch

Honelith

The omission of Mario Galaxy 2 makes me wonder if it will be a fully fledged Remaster/HD standalone title like the Zelda Wii U releases, which I would be very fine with. Otherwise, it's odd it wasn't included.

Also, I'd call 3D All*Stars an inferior All*Stars package when you compare it to the Super Nintendo Mario All*Stars which did an amazing job of remaking/updating all 4 Mario games for the SNES, that was an amazingly well made package.

Re: Feature: Best Animal Crossing Games Of All Time - Where Does New Horizons Rank?

Honelith

Here at last!

I started with Wild World, became an instant fan and was eagerly awaiting New Leaf, was not disappointed and oh my god I sunk so many hours into that game. Pocket Camp was too stressful to play, with those timed events which you had to grind to unlock items was just a horrid experience and it felt like the events were getting tougher so you had to spend money on them. Immediately removed that game and never looked back, that's not Animal Crossing.

It blows my mind that New Leaf came out 7 years ago already and Wild World was released 15 years ago! Recently went back to Wild World and the game feels weird, the controls felt off and the animals just look creepy, but as a DS game it looked great. New Leaf really spoiled us with much better aesthetics, I never played City Folk so going from Wild World to New Leaf was quite a big jump, it was a brilliant sequel.

Hoping New Horizons feels the same and I expect it will seeing how series keeps going from strength to strength.

Re: Anniversary: Feel Old Everyone, Donkey Kong Country Turns 25 Today

Honelith

Amazing series. Still got that promo VHS tape I got with Nintendo Magazine System (they were amazing to read before it got changed to Official Nintendo Magazine or ONM) with interviews with the Rare staff and watching some guy in a DK suit monkeying around. The gag was the banana thing, they kept offering and eating them, was pretty nifty, it even showed you some very easy game secrets which I felt was pointless.

Ah the times.

Re: Nintendo Releases Statement About Switch Joy-Con Drift Issue

Honelith

"recent reports" and "some joy-con controllers"

Made me chuckle. Nintendo, many people have taken apart the joy-cons to try and fix the problem and it's glaringly obvious you used cheaper materials which are not durable or well designed at all and the fast wear and tear of the contact pads which read the x and y inputs just introduce more gunk build up which can interfere with the control stick readings. The joy-cons are not going to last long especially for the price paid, they need to redesign the metal sliders inside the control stick which slide across the contact pads to be less scratchy and the contact pads need to be more durable. They messed up.

Re: Feature: Forget Sonic, These Are the 10 Worst Video Game Movies Ever

Honelith

The animated Final Fantasy's and animated Resident Evil's are solid efforts, basically live action films just never look or turn out good. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Silent Hill and Warcraft at least tried, there was a lot I liked in those films but they're far from perfect.

You're better off just sticking with animated, comics or books which do a much better job but ofcourse, just watching a game get spliced together as a film on youtube is far more enjoyable than these terrible films.

Re: Talking Point: Come In Nintendo 3DS, Your Time Is Up

Honelith

The 3DS has got an impressively LARGE library of fantastic and quirky titles. That's what I loved so much about the 3DS, it had so many amazing exclusives whereas the Switch is drowning in re-releases that the Switch is quickly losing its identity.

Re: Feature: The Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Team On Remaking A Beloved Classic

Honelith

Luigi's Mansion, then Yo-Kai Watch 3 and soon Bowser's Inside Story and then Etrian Odyssey Nexus in Feb are fantastic releases as the 3DS leaves the limelight but it will never leave our hearts.

The 3DS is easily my favourite console so far and it shocks me to see how many games I own for it, probably about 80 last I checked since I keep my games and never sell them on. I've never purchased so many games for a console before, just shows what a brilliant console it is.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Finally Revealed: Cloud Saves, NES Games And Pricing Confirmed

Honelith

Will be interesting to see how this affects the population of MK8 and Splatoon 2 when this thing launches, because it's so barebones right now and still needing to use that horrid app for voice comms is terrible. And cloud saves won't work for all games, so that's a worry.

I pay £40 a year for PS Plus and feel it's a great deal, especially with those newer PS Plus games every month.
