Re: Don't Start A New Game Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild If You Want To Keep Your Save Data

Honelith

Ok, just checked, my old save had 2 auto saves and a manual save, easy to tell from the time they saved. Created a new game and it had 2 new auto saves that did not write over the old auto saves, creating a new manual save overwrites the old manual save. So, even if you start a new game, as long as you don't do a manual save, you'll be fine. And then there's the auto saves that could still be intact.

Tried the wheel accessory on the Wii for Mario Kart and it's just dreadful, does anyone prefer using it over the standard controller?

The demo of Puyo Puyo Tetris is pretty solid and the AI puts up a mean fight, so will be buying it. Cannot wait for MK8D and Lego City Undercover could be interesting, but might get that on PS4 instead.

The more I play Zelda, the more I like it, it just keeps on throwing nice touches at you.

When I look at the games line-up (already looks amazing), I get strong 3DS vibes, as in, the Switch will be a very successful console like the 3DS, even more so I reckon because of the nice screen. There's no 3D gimmick to sell this system, instead, Nintendo went with an interesting hybrid system with good designs on the controllers and the system itself.

Re: It's Another Nintendo Switch Teardown, With Analysis on Potential for Future Improvements

Love the fact it's more like a laptop than a tablet. But my god, the thermal paste just slapped onto the CPU as though someone ordered an ice cream sundae, just as bad as PC graphics cards.

That was the best Switch teardown video I've seen and was very informative, I had no idea that RAM was upgradable or the fact the fan is vibration mounted to reduce the noise levels of the fan. The Switch seems really well designed, well, except the weak wifi pickup or the questionable placement of the Joy-Con's bluetooth antenna.

But yeah, very happy with the Switch so far!

Re: Nintendo Switch Demand Prompts GameStop to Offer Ludicrous Bundle for Delivery by 16th April

365games sold out of Switch then offered just the console a day later for £309 then a day later it went up to £329. My Local CEX game store had a Switch on display in their window for £350!

A few days ago the Neon Red/Blue Switch came into stock on the Nintendo Official UK Store, grabbed it then hours later it had sold out, it's now been sold out all week. Best place to grab a Switch though for that 2 year warranty and no silly inflated prices!

Re: Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con Disconnection Woes Could Be Hardware-Related

Honelith

Got my Switch from the UK Nintendo Store so have 2 year warranty on my Switch. Been testing the console all day today, no dead pixels, speakers are fine on the console itself, the joy-cons work fine at 20 feet with no disconnects, it's been smooth so far. I remember PS4 and XB1 having teething issues at launch with bad batches and firmware issues etc, nothing new here.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th February (Europe)

Meanwhile on the PS Store, there's some great discounts with many top titles getting 50% and 75% off. Nintendo really need to step it up and offer good games for sale, not these small cheap indie games which probably don't sell well anyway.

Re: Talking Point: Is the Nintendo Switch a Handheld or Console? Does it Matter?

Honelith

I don't know. When you compare the features of the Switch as a handheld and then the features as a console, well, it seems more like a handheld as its the handheld features which intrigue the most (free local multiplayer). Also, the specs make it look like a handheld (mobile chipset). If the Switch wasn't portable and just a home console with those specs, I'd seriously question Nintendo's judgement.

Re: Nintendo Switch Lacks Pack-In Title Because It's $299, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

Honelith

Still a big price for not very much in return. That 1-2-Switch has to be one of the most unappealing games I've seen in a long, long time. They might sell one or two copies because people want more games for their Switch and the long wait for decent games once they complete Zelda will be a painful memory for this system.

Look at the N64, Gamecube and 3DS, all got slashed within half a year, I'd imagine the Switch to do the same, which is the same time when decent games start coming out for the Switch, strange coincidence. Buying now will disappoint most, so expect that if you're an early adopter, just hope Nintendo will reward them as they did with the 3DS ambassadors.
