The original Snipperclips - Cut it out, together! was a major early hit on the Switch eShop; developed by a small UK studio, Nintendo liked the concept enough to buy the IP and publish the game. It led the way in terms of early download-only sales on the store.
It wasn't too surprising, then, when the most recent Nintendo Direct confirmed Snipperclips Plus: Cut it out, together!, a retail version that'll include new content. There'll be 30 new stages, remixes of old stages and some additional features; those that already own the original will also be able to pay less by adding the Plus content as DLC.
A couple of new videos on Nintendo's Japanese YouTube channel go into more detail - we get a look at some new stages and a couple of adjusted minigames, along with a 'stamp' mode in which you can essentially paint artwork and even move it to your phone.
Check them out below; the second is shorter if you're in a hurry.

This expansion / retail version is out on 10th November, and could certainly be worth a look.

Amazing game...
Great game. My first eshop game
Will get this at some point. Shame it comes out on the same day as DOOM.
I wanted it but decided to wait for a sale. Glad I did as I will now get the retail version. Hope its a game card and not a download code.
I'm weirdly tempted to the DLC even though I haven't completed the original...
Getting pretty annoyed at the ridiculous lag between digital and retail releases. I much prefer physical and would have waited if I'd known this was coming.
And where is retail Minecraft?
How much is retail/physical?... Please say it like £20 lol
Lazy developers! Still no Pro Controller support! Really? It would take you an hour to add, you lazy morons!
I got the game free with the red+blue Joy-Con set, but I don't play it. I can't be bothered to detach a JC from the Switch to play it when my PC is compatible with almost all other games.
@BornInNorway81 Your loss man.
Loved this game. Instantly cemented my day 1 purchase of the Switch as the right system for my family. Completed SNIPPERCLIPS with the wife (up there with the most fun I have had with the Switch so far) and messed about having a laugh with it with my son. Definitely buying this DLC. SNIPPERCLIPS is superb, one of the best co-op puzzle games I have ever played.
I also hate the delay between digital and physical, but I'm still glad physical is coming.
I'm really excited to go back to this game with a friend. I had tons of fun with it but I definitely felt like it was over way too quickly.
My only complaint about the original game was the fact that it was too short. I'll gladly pay an extra $10 to get some more of this clipping goodness. Out of all of the co-op games I've played in recent memories (By that I mean games built for co-op, not games that just have a co-op feature) this is my favorite.
Can't wait to get more levels. This is the one game that my wife loves to play as a team. She tried Overcooked with me and found that it was too stressful. I need more games like Snipperclips.
@BornInNorway81 are you being serious? I genuinely can't tell. If you are then seriously try it out. It's a blast with friends and family. Seriously you're missing out. It's the perfect Xmas game so maybe try it out then.
@NintyNate Well going off of conversion rates.
Retail game: 3,280 yen = 21.97 pounds
Full digital: 2,778 yen = 18.61 pounds
DLC only: 1,111 yen = 7.44 pounds
@BornInNorway81 Are you a game developer? If not then you have no idea how long a single feature can take to develop nor the knock-on effect of adding it. This is not down to laziness. You may think something would "only take an hour" from the outside, but trust me, in game dev nothing is simple.
Was thinking about it, but really, still no Pro Controller support? Is it really that hard to add?
Wahoo!
My wife and I conquered this game and really wished there was more... Soon there will be
I still have yet to complete snipperclips; So, I'm excited the game is growing because the only reason I've been holding off is to savor it.
Wanted to buy the original, but this is making me hold off.
Can't wait to buy the retail version.
I picked this up a few months ago. I finally got around to playing it. It's fun but it doesn't hold my attention very long.
@MasterWario You can buy the original now and then buy the new content as DLC. The price will be the same.
