Digimon Survive, Shin Megami Tensei, Casette Beasts and Ni No Kuni are the only ones for me. I hugely disagree with Ni No Kuni being a Pokémon-like in any way though.

Also maybe missing World of Final Fantasy.

And while I have a huge love for the whole Shin Megami Tensei franchise, SMT or any game on this list doesn't come close to the charm and mon designs to Pokémon as a franchise.

Got Collection, Trials and Legend physical and get rewarded by not getting the sequel on the Switch.. yay.

Loved the orginal, also loved the demo for Impossible Lair. But hope their next is game is a 3D platformer.

Still need to buy Impossible Lair sometime though.

I loved X/Y, also OR/AS.

Not "the beginning of the end" for me, because I also loved Sun/Moon and Scarlet/Violet.

Sword/Shield was the worst Pokémon game for me, but I still have several 100 hours in it because of the fun raid system.

So in conclusion I've loved every gen so far.

@Zaruboggan the only remaining "issues" are 30 fps, which will never be fixed, and longer loading times than the original.

I'm enjoying my playthrough a lot, I'm biased though because it's my favourite game ever. This is the first time I'm playing it in Japanese though.

Loved the raids in SwordShield, but am really not enjoying them in ScarletViolet.

I get the complaints about the visuals, but for me battling never felt to slow. I love that they've stuck with turnbased battles through the years.

As someone who lives close to Amsterdam, I'm curious to say the least.

Toadette, one of my fav characters since Double Dash.

It's my fav game ever. My absolute number #1.

I own it on Gamecube, Steam, Switch and have the Playstation 3 Limited Edition. Also own the OVA series on blu-ray.

The Switch version still has only 30fps and has longer loading times but the other issues are now gone so I'm still enjoying it.

I like Penny's character design a lot. But I like the artstyle of the world even more!

All my money gone on the 3DS eShop without a sale and now they come to Switch for a way better price :/

It looked like a bad trailer for a good game. The rap did not fit. No reason for giving the video a dislike though.

For me it's a 7,5. I wanted a Majora's Mask-like sequel (not in tone), but what we got was a Black 2 and White 2 sequel.

The same world with a few differences, a bit of expansion and a new story.

Having said that, a 7,5 still means it's really good.

Mainly agree with article. Really miss turn based Final Fantasy though. XI, XIV, XV and VIIR just aren't for me and XVI probably also won't be. Maybe I'll try XV again someday.

I played a little bit of VII as a kid and also a bit of XIII but not as a kid haha.

But my first whole playthrough was Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles The Crystal Bearer and I liked it so much I played a whole playthrough again the day I first completed it. 100% one of my fav Wii games and Wii has a lot of good games.

I have VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII and World of Final Fantasy on Switch. Was planning on starting VII and going chronologically, but then they released I through VI and now I don't know. Also really want the XIII trilogy on Switch, looooove the character designs in those.

Glad I already own it on Wii. Also glad it's available once again so even more people can experience it.

@Nanami_Ataraxia I haven't played the Atelier series. But I agree that going open world can be a detriment to some games. A lot of companies think that going open world is the way to go and I hugely disagree. Having said that, I did love Breath of the Wild and can't wait for Tears of the Kingdom. Although I also really like the form of 3D Zelda before it went open world, hope it also comes back some day.

I want to watch it soooo bad, but I want to go in blind!

Have never been dissapointed by a mainline Zelda game, so until that happens I'm okay going in completely blind and enjoy them to their fullest.

Remember quite some times when a game was just to hard to get any further, but don't remember any moment like these.

The one before this was also number 2, I think this should be number 3.

I can live with the 30 fps but all the other issues made me stop after 5 hours. It's my favorite game ever and I wanted to relive it again. Hoping the fix will come soon and fixes most issues, cause I can't wait to play it.

I want everything to be surprise for me, so new costumes and returning/new enemies would be huge spoilers for me. Thats why I won't be looking at the artbook and am gonna be more carefull these three months on the internet.

As it's my favorite game ever, it sucks that the port is so "bad". Or at least not as good as it could've been.

Having said that, I'm still getting it day one to experience it for myself.

I own every Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game and loved the remake of the first one on Switch (Although I liked the original better, which I do with almost all remakes of games). So yeah I would love another on Switch, preferably with Pokémon up to gen 9.

Loved watching this as they came out back then. But it's more of a companion piece to the game. It's missing a hella lot of important scenes. Still great imo.

I just got it 6 days go, played it for around 50 hours. Just finished the last gym leader. And I loved the gym leaders, the gym jobs, the new Pokémon, all the a lot new overworld animations for old mons.

Battling (and discovering new Pokémon and forms) is my fav thing about Pokémon, so I'm basically the opposite of you.
I even grinded 3 teams at the same time so I'm always underleveled at battles and gyms. Sneaky hard mode for myself.

Haven't had any glitches and the game looks good enough for me (in handheld at least).

Probably in my top 3 gens already.

While I like the originals story more, I am one of the few that also loves the sequel Dawn of the New World. Also like Emil as a character and he has great voice acting. Also also like Marta, ditto voice acting.

So a bit sad that the sequel is not included and that it is 30fps. But gonna buy for sure.

Have the ps3 limited edition with both on it, just don't have a ps3 haha.

@MythTgr Shiny hunting. Raid battles. Battles against my brother. Filling the Pokédex. Hidden ability hunting. I also like walking around in the 3 wild areas, perfect music vibe. I also explore every nook and cranny in most games, talk to every person and did self imposed rules to make the main story harder.

Have 850 hours in SwordShield. So when I get the game tommorow I assume it will be worth my while.

I like all of games in this article, except Bioschock Infinite. I also like all Yoshi games, and I know some of them get a lot of hate.

Having said all that, I wouldn't qualify any as "objectively bad" though.

Nintendo Quality + anime aesthetics + idol culture + just being a real good game. Perfect mix for Japan.

For me it was great, watched Pokkén and some VGC. Hope it comes to London again or even Amsterdam some time when I'm in better state and be able to leave the house. But watching from home was fun enough, glad I did it.

My number 1 is shared by two Pokémon, which are Gardevoir and Metagross.

But Poliwhirl, Tangela, Dragalge, Hariyama and Entei are very close.
