Re: Feature: Five Lessons From The Tokyo Game Show 2018

@b0nes @Bunkerneath Reminds me of an article I once read that was almost exclusively the names of tropes from TVTropes, so every point in the article, several times per sentence, was effectovely an entire page on another site you needed to read for context.

Cute gimmick, failed as a writer.

@Galenmereth "So remind me again why you want us to pay for your online "service", Nintendo?"

Simple. Investors see Sony and MS making money hand over fist for effectively nothing, and since Nintendo is a publicly traded business they need to answer to those demands, plain and simple.

You wouldn't be insane enough to tell the people sending cash your way that no, this free, proven, easy money on the table isn't worth it.

Ever since they mentioned paid online in January 2017, I have noticed this entire thing feels reluctant. Honestly it seems like even Nintendo themselves don't want to do it.

Pretty much the conclusion I came to when I did articles on this game a while ago, but with one notable difference.

I did mention that some of the ideas displayed would do wonders fully expanded in a sequel. Kind of a Sonic 1 going to Sonic 2 scenario.

That and I was able to give them loads of feedback for an upcoming patch (On PC at least).

Maybe it comes to Switch? I'll need to ask them.

Re: Miyamoto Doesn't Want To Make An MMORPG Because It Would Be Boring

@chemical Yeah it is, but it's a known fact with these service based games, you won't have time for all of them, so whats the point trying to muscle in on a market?

It's like, yeah you could play our MMO instead, but you've already got one and don't have time for two MMOs, Fortnite, Rocket League, Overwatch and numerous other service based titles that keep wanting you to come back.

It's a losing battle and they are wise to not jump in.
