Re: "Please Understand" Nintendo Is Replacing Its Controversial Creators Program With New Guidelines

Haruki_NLI

@Joeynator3000 And those rules are....perfectly acceptable and in line with what people complaining were saying.

"But my videos are transformative!"

Now there is a rule saying, k, as long as its transformative, we are good.

"Only officially released things and materials"

Given how Smash got spread over the internet before release, yeah, go for it Nintendo.

So yeah, these rules are fine.

Re: Soapbox: Don't Listen To The Pokémon: Let’s Go Haters - The Game Has Definitely Found Its Audience

Haruki_NLI

I think the big prpblem with this game was how it was announced.

E3 2017 - Core RPG title coming to Switch in the future

Then randomly at 4am my time, with no prior announcement, here's your first look at Let's Go.

It was live tweeted from a Japan only event. It didn't come out for some time that the game they intially announced was 2019.

By just dropping the news in the most backwards way imaginable and running what was initially counter to their comments at E3 just confused and frustrated people.

Re: What Happened To Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Coming To The Switch?

Haruki_NLI

@carlos82 In your post you said this:

"but I suspect that Spyro likely will appear on Switch as remasters of older games are certainly more viable."

Implying the only reason Spyro will show up is because it's a remaster, not because of the underlying technology.

If your comment that "It's a remaster so it will" holds up, there's this Resident Evil game coming out soon...

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Takes A Look At Diablo III: Eternal Collection On Nintendo Switch

Haruki_NLI

900p in 2018? Unacceptable.

It should be full 4k with HDR to include even colours not visible to the human eye, every frame should have a hidden ultraviolet only image that when collated with every other frame in the game creates a map to El Dorado and the game should do all that while wearing sexy lingerie because screw it I'm an entitled nerd who wants his jollies while having his cake and eating it too!

I've also been told by my business associates that to keep the lights on in the DF (Devil's Fornicator) offices I have to say the game card should taste like Cheerios and if not to call Blizzard's customer service at which point you will receive a replacement with a lifetime supply of phones in your pocket to play mobile titles while on the toilet recovering from that Mountain Dew and Dorito party you had last night that meant you had to skip work today to play more Diablo 3.

Oh, and your Mom says the mini pizzas are in the oven and you should take them out in half an hour.

Re: The Mythical Pokémon Meltan's Evolution Is Finally Revealed

Haruki_NLI

@RadioHedgeFund It's based on the ancient belief that metal was a mystical element, as this is worshipped as the creator of metals.

So ya know, alchemy. Plus, they don't always have to be based on mythology. This is also based, in a more modern sense, on the understood properties of mercury to amalgamate.

Re: Video: Even Menu Controls Are Challenging In The Switch Version Of Dark Souls

Haruki_NLI

@Donutman That doesn't excuse the fact that controls in remasters have changed before and will again in future from the original releases.

Further, the notion of changing a game's confirm and cancel buttons not just between consoles but even languages is most definitely not unheard of. Why wasn't it done here?

Further to THAT, all that and your comments don't excuse the fact there is a menu option to change this to your preference that you can't even access.

Re: Feature: Why Pokémon: Let's Go Is The Perfect Entry Point For Pokémon GO Players

Haruki_NLI

The problem with point 1 is sure, it will reduce the shock.

But for the people who were overwhelmed by the jump from say, Gen 2 to 3? They couldnt cope with that. How will they manage going from 1 to 8?

As for the controller thing, given you can hold the player two controller and player one controller on your own in the same way many games are played normally...this can snap the game over your knee.

This all seems accessible but it doesnt answer the question of getting those fans to cope with the sheer jump

Re: Reggie Says Wii U's Failure Ultimately Led To Success Of The Switch

Haruki_NLI

@Pete41608 You didn't hand anything.

You said something on the internet that is the equivalent of "My iPhone got a software update that makes it waterproof" only not quite so asinine.

Now I think about it they could have lotentially repurposed some capacitors or something if they were just laying around, but the actual screen panels themselves, yeah no they kinda got thrown out. Don't see those coming back.

Unless they make some kind of 4DS.

It's funny you mention repurposing spare parts though as the Pro Controller just uses a 3DS battery. God knows how many of those they had laying around.

Re: Reggie Says Wii U's Failure Ultimately Led To Success Of The Switch

Haruki_NLI

@Pete41608 "I just assumed they took unsold Wii U gp screens or whatever and repurposed them for the Switch's use."

If they did that, then those screens not only magically changed from one point resistive touch screens to 10-point capacitive, but also changed to higher quality LCDs at a higher display resolution of 720p instead of 480p, during this "Repurposing".

Amazing what leaving unused materials in a warehouse will do: Like wine, it matures apparently.
