If I'm honest, I'd like to pickup the camera at some point, but after a couple of games and a pro controller 2. As I'm not made ofmoney, I don't know when that will be, but my idea of online play is not needing a headset. Never liked them and folk look like they are working in a call center at home. It's not cool.
In 2025, collector's edition means a physical version. I get that carts seem to be expensive, but a physical collector would pay that $16 extra. Not sure what will happen with smaller games /indies. Maybe they will make collections to fill the cart. Anyhoo, really hoping for a Star Wars Outlaws physical version.
@8bit-Man I don't know how anyone is qualified to say something like that. It looks to have had a shed ton of development to me. Especially in the game design phase. Don't get me wrong, I miss instruction manuals too.
I mean, I would have expected a bigger fanfare. This is the first time Virtua Fighter has come to a Nintendo console. It's absolutely massive in my book.
Just goes to show how out of touch investors are. They should be jumping for joy because there isn’t a single fan moaning about a more powerful Switch! Jeez, say you were late investing in Nintendo after they struck gold without saying you were late! Sounds like a small child whining they aren’t doing it again. That’s called being taken for granted, which Nintendo often are.
One card for all NEO GEO games would be reeeally expensive! It would be amazing, mind...but eye wateringly dear. Which to be fair would echo the originals asking price hahaha!
I get what this chap is saying, but on the other hand, there is very little imagination in making something realistic. It's almost just copying. So how about everyone just gets on without measuring erm...price tags.
@Rykdrew Of course because you game on multiple systems. I would slap you if you would! But pipe down for the people that don't. The game is new for them aaaand will come down in price after the initial sales exactly how they did for Steam. If they were going to sell it for $25 from the get go...I can't imagine they would feel it worthwhile to bring it to Switch 2. They aren't running a service for people lol.
My biggest change (that's already happened) is not watching Youtubers or reading those forums. I know what I'm going to buy and play. I can happily sit digital games out and don't need the noise of them all saying the same sh-stuff trying to ramp up hype for something (or anger at something.) I just want to play games with people I like playing games with. So, no more buying games for my backlog. No fear of missing out. I'm done with all that.
So, my game decisions have changed; they have been made easier. There were too many games anyway. We've all been saying it for years. So disregarding digital and key-cards is actually quite the Godsend. And I'm sure there will be some good games I don't get to play...but there will be plenty of good ones I do. And those are the point. Appreciate what you have. And stop listening to people pointing out the stuff you don't.
I can't wait. Barring Cyberpunk and Daemon X Machina, if third parties want to go all digital counter to Nintendo still pushing physical, then that's on them and they won't take full advantage of being on the Switch 2. I don't think they are reading (a good chunk of) the room. More than happy to just play Nintendo games to death. I'm sure we will still see the odd physical game (and companies like Limited Run may support it - would be nice to get some communication of how they mean to go on.) and that will probably garner loads of media coverage in of itself lol.
I think some canny boutique publisher could do well out of securing licensing rights and selling a physical version of this. I mean, let's face it (speaking strictly third party here) in 2025, collector's edition basically will mean complete on a cart. I think most can do without the gumpf.
@DadJKP You sell them on before you die numpty. That's the advantage of owning something. It's an asset. Something that billionaires / huge corporations don't want us to have anymore...
@Medic_alert Yeah, I reckon you are right mate. I can't think of any other arguement. What you said is especially true in these 'uncertain times (tm.)' The burden will fall on some brave boutique publisher, and then it's a case of negotiating rights etc. I'm glad Nintendo are still sold on physical. And their games will generally fall into whatever capacity cards they are willing to manufacture. Definately a sign of the times.
@Medic_alert It depends. They get sold to retailers. So from their perspective, that cuts the risk down. Then it's up to the retailers to sell them. It's genuinely a profiteering exercise. If they were more widely adopted, the cost of producing them would shrink (economies of scale etc.) So I don't thinkit's that black and white. The boardroom know exactly what they are doing...
The fact companies don't like to even mention if it's a key card betrays that they themselves know how negative it is. But do it anyway to cut costs - yet not pass that on to the customer. Absolutely digusting behaviour.
If you are reading this Ubisoft, bring PoP Sands of Time to Switch2. Preferably phsically, buuuut looks like Nintendo, CDRed and Marelous are the last companies to give a damn about that.
As an aside, was Steep any good eventually? It got cancelled on Switch so never played it. I wonder if there is an unfinished project floating around.
I’m not boycotting, I’m just not interested in them. I do however think Nintendo have managed to address the biggest problems with digital. But I’m a physical guy.
Jeez, who cares whether it's better than Steam Deck or not. You have a console, you hope a game gets a good version of it. Most normal folk don't own every single console or don't think they better buy a different console to play a game. I don't own a Steam Deck so I'm not bothered. I love Cyberpunk and I'm sure Steam Deck owners are happy enough with their version. Now can everyone shut the heck up and let me hope I'm happy with our version in peace!
So much to praise. None of that awful shadow draw distance we got on Switch and the neon signs look to have a decent draw distance (possibly because of the SW2's internal memory?) I'm very happy with how it's looking. Last thin I need to see addressed is population density. Doesn't need to be super high.
Because the big third parties can circumvent physical media now, they don't have to optimise compression. Cost cutting init. Bane of the modern world. Gone beyond effieciency and actually a detriment to quality of life i reckon. Anyhoo... with EA, I'm surprised it's not a code in the box...
Hmm, I'm wracking my brains for which game I want to come to the cube but can't think of any at the moment...you would have thought I could have though of 1 or 2 O.<

Erm..."double jumps", "dashing to the side" and a "grappling hook" aren't crazy at all...

A Nightdive collection all on a cart would be glorious!

Of course DF weighed in. Any opportunity to bash Nintendo...
Re: Feature: "We’re Very Confident" - CD Projekt Red On Delivering The Full Cyberpunk 2077 Experience On Switch 2
@Glasso In handheld mode. Dock mode is equivalent of 2 PS4s ducktaped together. THEN you have DLSS to help it punch above that weight.
