Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Is Set To Be Officially Announced Tomorrow

The music is much more forgettable than Morrowind. I'm happy for everyone who I would imagine this was their first Elder Scrolls game. For me, I wasn't enamoured with it half as much as it's predecessor. Still, I might give it another go. Thankfully the grphics won't look like they have been smeared in vaseline in the remaster (God, what an awful time for graphics that was! Bouncer was awful for it!) If this is a remaster, then Morrowind deserves a remake

Re: "Stay Tuned" For Next Mainline Mario, Says Nintendo's Bowser

If it's been in development since Odyseey, then it's going to be an $80 game lol.

I don't know if it's Sony training (certainly more mainstream thinking) but you don't expect Mario games. They come out when they have a new idea or hardware concept. So I wouldn't be expecting Cappy in the next one. Look at Super Mario World and Super Mario World 2 (Mario was baby in that!!)

So as a long time Nintendo fan, DK releasing is no more surprising than Luigi's Mansion on the cube. You appreciate the games that Nintendo make...but don't start exoecting stuff. They don't work like that. Gameplay ideas come first not 'let's make another Mario game.'

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Confirmed As The First Switch 2 Title To Use Nvidia's DLSS Upscaling

Hi. Dave from Digital Floundering here. Thought I'd share an interview we did with the developers.
"So, apparently you guys are using DLSS."
"Yes, we are using the features of the NVidia chipset."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Are you sure, we couldn't see it."
"Yep."
"...but really, though?"
"YES! Accross four modes."

So there you have it. We have no evidence the game is using DLSS at this time. Thank you for reading.

Re: Opinion: It's Time To Get Rid Of Fall Damage

I fear the writer is hanging her hat too much on the word escapism (or experience.) Removing any jeopardy in a video game would make them feel too safe, maybe even boring. And that's not escapism. But I do get it, dying from merely traversing a game world is a bit lame. But is that on the player or the game?

Re: Uh Oh, It Looks Like Select Switch 2 Games Won't Support Cloud Saves

All things considered I don't think it's as bad as many make out. Granted I would like some clarity on this VRR on monitors grey area. It sounds worth investing in a monitor maybe.
I think what is happening is, there is clearly widespread whiplash projected at Nintendo because it's the path of least resistance, caused by a broarder sense of instability and insecurity elsewhere in the world. I feel it. And I am far and away not unique.

I'll add Saturn btw. That's a good one

Re: Uh Oh, It Looks Like Select Switch 2 Games Won't Support Cloud Saves

Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to get my Switch 2, but...well...could this be the worst console launch ever?

  • Prices that caught everyone off guard.
  • Delayed pre-order dates.
  • Overviews updated with features removed.
  • Overviews with errors.
  • Seemingly one sole third party embracing physical media.
  • No Super Monkey Ball at launch.

Now I am not saying everything is Nintendo's fault here. The global economy is a crap shoot at the moment, but it feels like they could have used more time, but then again, how will the world look next week? Either way, it looks easy to start losing confidence in the hardware (because of the messaging or lack thereof. Different hymn sheets etc.) I mean, the games look amazing!

Maybe Nintendo should have avoided talking specs like they traditionally do (that might touch on losing their identity?). All the fps, vrr, resolution talk is steering conversation away from their games. Edit - I might be actually doing them a disservice there, as their chat doesn't tend to go beyond 'improved frame rate' etc.

Possible contenders

  • XBox One (legendary fail but in hindsight, pretty much where we are today. Go figure...)
  • Wii U (Branding failure.)
  • PS3 (Probably priced worse than the Switch 2!)
  • 3DS (Over priced leading to a price cut / ambassasor programme.)
  • PS Vita (Restrictingly proprietary hardware.)
  • Virtual Boy (Headache inducingly flawed design.)
  • SEGA Saturn (Sloppy timing.)
  • Atari Jaguar (Trevor McFur. Nuff said!)

Re: Nintendo Confirms Duration For Tomorrow's Mario Kart World Direct

Predictions

  • Missions in free roam mode. (Crazy Taxi style.)
  • Battle Royal Battle mode played accros the entire world (like Fortnite). In fact, battle mode has been quiet!!
  • Time trials - plot your own route.
  • Space in that massive world to build your own track and invite players to race it. (uses the mouse controls.)
  • Erm...Special guest character (the one more thing) Popeye.
