@PJOReilly Me too. Seriously, Track and Field is a classic. This isn't lol. It's just old...like us. Ha.Never seen it in an arcade and I went to alot. Anyhoo, looking forward to picking it up.
Baldur's Gate 3 Microsoft - Oblivion maybe? They have a ton! Sony - Some live service game. Helldivers 2 would make the internet angry the most, so let's go with that! Robocop Witcher 3 SW2 edition Daemon X Machina 2 Madden Tekken erm...proven third party stuff!
@Pillowpants Ressurgence? They never left lol! Switch is crazy successful(I say is because it's not dead yet!) No wonder Sony and Microsoft wanna bring games over! Fun times
@DollyrotsFan1 Well, you never know. They may have stopped you playing a game that put you off the franchise lol. I mean, when folk say they want a sequel, surely they don't mean just more of the same? What's the point? Nintendo's sequels rarely replace the predecessor. (Look at MKW and MK8D!) So folk don't actually know what they are wanting. It's something I've never got my head around?
I will happily skip key cards. My bank balance is the healthiest it's been in ages! If they don't want my money then fine by me. I'm not addicted to games lol. And besides, there is a bucket of them to play. I've sank hours into Cyberpunk. I'm absolutely rinsing games like I used to, instead of following the next hyped game or throwing stuff on my backlog (which my Switch 2 doesn't have! - I better say that again because it does wonders for my mental wellbeing, I don't have a backlog on Switch 2!*)
Nintendo will be fine, They still make games the proper way! And they can have the odd 30% of any third party that chooses to do likewise!
YAY! Congratulations Nintendo. I honestly cannot recall a period where they have been so successful (and I've been with them since Game and Watch / Popeye!) I mean, they had a hit with NES and Gameboy, but they are in another league today even compared to that period. I'm sure Sony has an emergency hot line to Jim Ryan to find more sales of PS2s...
It kinda confuses me how these two talk. For starters, it's not very professional of the aussie developer to be speculating (certainly lacks integrity...) but they harp on about 'us as a consumer' like we are wanting every single game lol. Nintendo is about selling their own games first. Third parties SUPPORT this. They are both permanatly frustrated or bewildered because it's clear they have a more Sony / Microsoft corporate mind set where both companies live and die by third parties (Look how Sony and Microsoft squabbled over Activision!). I don't put much weight into their opinions (Nintendo are doing all right lol) and as for their take on a slow launch, if it's not abundantly clear they are releasing a game a month with indies and proven third parties on the side, there is no helping them.
Anyhoo, do hope Nate is right about a Direct. His track record on this sort of thing speaks for itself Now, I'll be honest, August is probably the worst month to do one (they could easily advertise DKB / WKW over the summer holidays) and Nintendo would rather folk be out enjoying the sun than playing games lol (again, not typical corporate thinking...) so I'm sceptical. But one would of course be welcome. We'll see. And I'll happily say he's done it again if one does air!
OK, aside from the obvious Mario being a bigger franchise, DKB is launching in the summer. Y'know, the quietest period for the industry. So don't fall into the trap of thinking day one sales are the be all and end all. That's Playstation / XBox thinking. So it's impressive and it's not at the same time. Nintendo titles tend to be ever green (hence no price drops) and I dare say this game will have a resurgance nearer Christmas because the Switch 2 is going to do numbers this year and DK is likely going to be a add on purchase.
Big question is how it compares to Astro Bot. And the fact it's not being reported usually means very well lmao!
I don't know about you, but when you are causing mass destruction of the environment, I can't think of anything more apt than the console breaking too! RAR!
@h3s People still chased as clear a picture as possible back then. I used scart and avoided rgb. My friend had vga adaptors where he could. And not to mention, PAL games running almost 20% slower so I did a lot of importing / hunting. So yeah, stuff mattered even back then. We just didn't go on about it...hahaha
If that era was today, instead of it simply being known games ran slower over here, every single game would be getting a comparison video. Easy content init.
@tseliot You think folk aren't going to push a console just because of the date? Weird lol. I don't see that design choice ever going off the table. I'm sure the game isn't going to grind to a halt lol.
My God, I'm thankful folk moaning about the occasional dip in performance weren't gamers in the 80s and 90s. The hobby would be dead by now. Jeez. It wasn't the golden age just because of the games...but the mentality too.
One thing the Switch 1 managed to do was train everyone into not expecting a price drop. These sales are likely to continue for the forseeable and the holiday period is going to be nuts.
What’s weird to me is folk who say game x is rubbish on one console but good on another and not realising all the are doing is pissing on a developer that made a good game (that pushes the respective consoles - it would be insulting if it didn’t) so bravo cdred. Irrespective of what you play it on, I love the game!
My cyberpunk shard has been jacked into my switch 2 since day 1. I played the base game on my series s a couple of years ago and loved it. The switch 2 version is just as good! But the dlc has made it one of my fave games ever. It’s basically escape from New York and that’s cool in my book!
Over the bloody moon, thank you very much It's looking like it will be mostly Nintendo first party stuff and any third parties that put their game on the card. But I'm fine with that. We have all been saying for years there are too many games. Only folk happy with that are content creators, not normal people.
I've been done with XBox for a long time. It seems to me their 'vision' is everyone subscribing to play digital, A.I. driven experiences. I mean, they are getting closer and closer to charging an arm and a leg by not actually having to spend anything. No bricks and mortar rates, no cost of manufacturing, no wages to pay (apart from the big fat bonus for the CEO ofc). Isn't anybody outraged by where the digital age is going? This stuff should be cheap as chips!
I have said this for about a decade now but the live service or free to play business model is pretty much the same as begging in a city Center. You want to ask as many people as possible for some change. Most will say no but you get more people saying yes. And the amount of change they used to ask to swap for notes every day was more than a week’s wages! Exclusivity is counter productive.
@sixrings What's on me? I'm not losing sleep over thinking a Youtube channel is rubbish lol. My emotions aren't being swayed. I find them boring (even when they talk about something they love.)
@OrtadragoonX Fair enough. Look, they aren't my cup of tea is all. And it's a shame folk take what they say as ammo for putting others down. Which doesn't help me like them lol.
@AverageGamer Stuff accepted as true withour proof. Yep. Those things that make asses out of people or something. Not cool if folk are going to cite them as "experts".

@Pineapple_Mohawk I still can't believe they pulled that stunt. So pathetic lol.
Re: Square Enix Wants Feedback About Its New HD-2D Game Coming To Switch 2
Make a physical version. No point even playing the demo if it's a key card, I'm already out.
Re: Reaction: Switch 2 Needed A Partner Showcase With Pep; This Wasn't It
It’s summer, the quietest period of the year. Switch 2 has been out a month. The only people thinking it NEEDS a massive Direct are content creators

@PJOReilly Awww. Of course not mate. You rock!
Re: Taito's 'Field Day' Sprints Onto Switch Today Via Arcade Archives

Classic? I know very few people who have even heard of this lol.

Can't have been that good then! Games get cancelled all the time.

@johnedwin Why is it only valid if Steam Deck has the more current model? LOL

Is Steam Deck really just over 3 years old? Time flies! It still looks as clunky as a US car lol.

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Storms Past 1.5 Million Units Sold
@Shwing Oh no. Your maths has failed lol. Total SKUs is SW1 at around 15K, PS5 at about 7.5K.
i.e double (just a bit over).
There is no sugar coating it. Playstation is pretty much on life support over there with Wii U type sales.
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Storms Past 1.5 Million Units Sold
@Duncanballs Sony and Microsoft need to reinvent what a home console is, but they don't have the creativity to do it.
