Just purchased the physical S1 version for 40£ + the upgrade for 5£ instead of 10£ (discount on the upgrade ending tonight btw). I can't wait to see how it runs after waiting for the S2 version for quite a while.
Pretty annoying for players who, like me, recently bought the game. Why not giving the possibility to download the extra languages separately for those who already own the game?
My top 3 was Hades 2, DK Bananza and Pokemon ZA. I've got to say that Inazuma Eleven changed that quite a lot! Now it would be Inazuma Eleven, Hades 2 and DK Bananza. It is such a great game! It is packed with content and the most crazy part about it is that they'll keep adding some! It is one of the most "complete" game I ever played. A true love letter to the series.
Can someone confirm if it now runs at proper 60 fps with no freezes when changing zones while playing docked on Switch 2? Bought it day one and the performances were so bad I returned it after a week. Thank you.
It's basically the PS3 version with higher resolution. Very lazy port. The PS4 version looks sooooo much better. I am not too focused on graphics but there's some games where the shadows, lighting, vegetation make a big impact on how well the game's atmosphere in presented. Having played it on Xbox One X back then, I can confirm that this is a quite (if not totally) different game as a result in its current state. Yes, it's cheap, but I can't really see the appeal if you have played it or can play it on any other platform.
Well deserved! 20h in on the S2 version and I can confirm that the game is quality. It looks and sounds great and it is packed with content. I was a bit suspicious at first as it is digital only, but is it totally worth its £60 price tag.
Tried the demo and it's gonna be a pass for me. Yes the soundtrack seems amazing, it's looking good and it is pretty fun while racing. But.... the races are waaaaayyyy too short! When you start having fun, it is already over (1.5-2mn long, hopefully there's a way to make them last longer???). Also, the arena mode literally made me feel sick after about 3mn in. I couldn't even go through the 5mn and had to put the controller down. It is so fast paced, going left, right, circling non stop, I felt like I was going to give my dinner back! Speed isn't an issue for me when it is going straight (even Fast Fusion is perfectly fine) but when it is pure chaos, it is just impossible for me. Probably a great game but I'll have to skip it. I'll go back playing Inazuma Eleven.
@TensuraFan7 The games itself runs fine on S1 when playing some matches. The menus however are horribly slow and laggy. This is resolved when playing on S2.
Not sure what the issue is with Captain Tsubasa. I have put a good 10h on Switch 2 without any issue. BTW, tge game was almost unplayable on S1 due to its very laggy menus but they are now almost smooth on S2.
@fenlix I'd give this (barely noticeable) ray tracing any day in exchange of a proper 60 fps with constant frame pacing any day. 30 fps with inconsistent frame pacing is just barely playing for people who can notice it.
They already "managed" to get performance issues on the Switch 2... This is a game with early PS4 era graphics but they still did it. Played the demo, the frame pacing was so bad I had to stop playing after 10mn.
Nintendo please, what we need is to be able to wake the Switch 2 up with our Switch 1 Pro Controllers ! Stop trying to force all players to upgrade to the S2 version of it. My Pro controller still is in great condition and working perfectly fine.
I would highly recommend Puzzle Quest Immortal Edition on Switch as a side game. It is perfect for short sessions in between longer sessions on some lengthy games. For less than £10, it is pretty good deal.
If only we could get a proper Pro Evolution Soccer again with the Master League... Nope... We're getting a very arcade oriented game with 30 fps and a very boring career mode instead...
2h in and I can already feel that the game gonna be as fun as the first one. Did spend 130+ hours on Hades and I believe I might spend even more on Hades 2. The game feels incredible with 120fps (docked), zero performance hiccups so far, great sense of progression; nice NPC's and very nervous gameplay. I just want to go back and play some more!
@cedarhyped nice one! Go and check Disgaea's original graphics on PS2 from 2003 and tell me if this "remaster" looks more impressive. Ans there is plenty of PS2 era games that look way better that this. The textures look flat and "basic". For the same price, you can get some real remasters/remake (Star Ocean Second Story R, DQ III Remake, Mario RPG, or even Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD).
"Excellent graphical and gameplay enhancements delicately implemented": maybe I need to change my glasses but I am everything but blown away by these "enhancements". The 2003 Disgaea game with its original PS2 graphics looks prettier than this. This a pretty lazy re-release at full price. Only the added voices are a notable change. It will be a hard pass for me until it is discounted to at least half the price.
"Fixed issue where the player could not get a disc as a reward for collecting all the balloons in Bananza Rehearsal.
If the above issue is occurring in the game in Ver. 2.0.0 or earlier, the player will be able to get the disc right after the stage starts by entering Bananza Rehearsal after downloading this update data."
This issue literally ruined my 100% of the game and I was stuck with 99% completion for more than 1 month! I did reach out to Nintendo in every possible way to explain the issue in details. Maybe I contributed getting this resolved. I have tested it and I now have the 3 stars for 100% completion! Ooooooh Banana!!!
"Menus are extremely clunky and prone to crashing in Ultimate Team": you literally confirmed my decision of not purchasing this game! Still having nightmares about the menus clunkiness in Captain Tsubasa on Switch 1 which made playing the game almost impossible.
Did grab it with 20% off and still feeling disappointed. I really enjoyed the base game, 100% it and had a good 60h of fun. But this DLC is just a pure rip off. The main thing that made the base game enjoyable was to find and collect stuff. Here, you get an empty island and a very repetitive rogue like mode that quickly gets old.
I couldn't get to Hollow Knight for years. Finally getting into it. Played 3h so far and not that difficult, apart from a difficulty to know where to go sometimes. Just re-played Lies of P in the highest difficulty and started its DLC so I am more than ready for any difficulty. The only part I think might be tricky is some platform sections. Having 100% Prince of Persia the Lost Crown (which had some insane platform sections) a few months ago, I am pretty confident though.
I think there will be: MP4 release date, a brand new Mario (maybe just a side game but still), S2 patches for all Xenoblade games, some more S2 upgrades for some previous S1 first party games.
And.... another game removed from my Switch 2 wishlist! After Ninja Gaiden Ragebound and its shameless 30 fps, Shinobi and its super blurry characters and Daemon X Machina 2 and its terrible performance, another disappointment! If I didn't enjoy and 100% DK Bananza, I would have called this console a pure scam! So disappointing so far...
Tried the demo for like 15mn: the performance was so bad I turned it off and deleted the demo straight. Removed the game from my wishlist. Shame as it was one of my most anticipated game this year.
Tried the S1 version: even on S2, it is a blurry mess running at 25-30 fps. Tried the PS5 version: very clean and rock solid 60 fps on performance mode. I wonder if the S2 version will be anywhere close to that. If it can do 1080p 60 fps, then I'm in. I wouldn't mind a 720p 60 fps on 4 players mode but will highly likely be like 720p 30 on 4 players mode.
Nope! Tried many times, never enjoyed it. I'm done trying. To me, it feels like a java script game, I hate rhe art atyle, combat is kinda meh. I'd prefer a good Metroid Dread or any metroidvania Castlevania game. Even enjoyed Bloodstained with its performance issues on Switch more than Hollow Knight.
Tried the first one about 5 times: could never get hooked, so zero excitement for me I'm afraid. But I am happy for those who were actively waiting for it. Same for for Dead Cells: if a sequel is released, I might be one of the only few who won't get excited at all.
@Metazoxan Sega and Konami. Still feel mad for Suikoden not getting a Switch 1 to Switch 2 upgrade path when the game literally released like 3 months before the Switch 2 released! I'm stuck with a 30 fps version. Shoutout to Square Enix for giving S2 owners of DQ3 remake a free upgrade!
@Whirlwound maybe but the moment Kurita surpasses Gao in the manga for ex is one of my favourite (I still slightly prefer his famous final funuraabaaa against the Shinryuji Naga but still!). Mr Don is also like the Yujiro of E21 and see the guys managing to put him down was amazing!
@Whirlwound Amazing AMV man! It would look amazing with updated resolution but I don't even think the anime had anything else than DVD's. And so sad that the anime didn't fully cover the manga and the games against the Hakushu Dinosaurs and against the team USA!
@Whirlwound yes! Such an underrated manga/anime. We had enough of DBZ, One Piece and Naruto games. E21 could really shine in a Captain Tsubasa or Inazuma 11 style game.
So sad I am not into Hollow Knight at all and I am getting less and less interested by Hades II. Maybe I'll just hope for a surprising new 2d platformer or a new beat'em up. I also think that they should give the new Toree game some light and remind players that it is releasing the following day.

Hades 2! Already did play for a good 10h. Damn, it is as addictive (if not more) as the first Hades! They've expanded on almost everything.
