Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Christmas? (Special Edition 2019)

Gerbwmu

I need to work on Octopath Traveler as I'm only a couple hours in but all gaming has been paused by the fun times that are Christmas prep and parties. I would also like to get back to Dark Souls as I played it for about an hour a year ago and then haven't had a chance to revisit it. Hoping I can dedicate some time to it over my holiday break and then continue in the new year now that Three Houses isn't dominating my time. Thankfully there is a small lull in new games I want to play so I should be able to catch up on those 2 and maybe actually finish off War Groove.

The Christmas gift that is Pokemon Shield may mean the Switch is over utilized though and take away from my gaming time.

Santa should bring me my own switch.....that would solve some of these dilemmas

Re: Rumour: A Cancelled Fire Emblem Remake Could Be Resurrected On Nintendo Switch

Gerbwmu

I'd love to see a Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn for Switch but I'm also a little worried they would change the games too much.

Three Houses is a good game. I thought way more compelling then Awakening or Fates but the variety of battle wasn't quite there. The paralogue battles helped but most of the battles were destroy everyone / destroy commander. Take these 10 and go!

Maybe nostalgia is making my memories scew toward the Radiant series but I thought them much harder and the battles more varied and epic. And I'd like to revisit them.

Re: Poll: Have You Ever Had Problems With Nintendo Hardware?

Gerbwmu

Always controllers and usually my (sons) fault for abuse. (Slight drift on 1 joycon being the exception) Hardware has always been solid from Nintendo. All of them worked to the day I sold them and moved on which wasn't until virtual console and digital copies of older games I want to play still started arriving.

My Wii U and Switch have what I need to play from Atari all the way to modern masterpieces..........

The XB1 though......it never wants to behave, red ring of death, and various issues with OGXBox.....good thing I never actually bought any of them, just reaped the benefits of roommates and now my kids.

Never had a Sony in my home so cant comment on them

Re: Guide: How To Improve Your Switch's Internet Connection

Gerbwmu

Thankfully I've never had an issue with my WiFi and Nintendo products......except for the 1st major update with Splatoon on Wii U......since then, all gravy! Now the XBox.......that's another story.......maybe I can use these tips to help it. I think that is a Microsoft problem and not a me problem though

Re: Review: Fire Emblem: Three Houses - The Zenith Of A Legendary SRPG Series

Gerbwmu

Opinions vary.......I'm excited for weapon durability to return. I loved it in BotW and for Fire Emblem, I think it adds another layer of strategy to the game. Haven't had time to completely read reviews but I hope they add battle experience points Like PoR and Radiant Dawn had so you can level up lesser characters.

Excited to play a FE game on my TV again

Edit: work is done, I finally can read the review and it looks like the ability to level up lesser characters certainly exists but in a different form. Overall this game sounds great.....now hopefully the battles are as varied and challenging as PoR and Radiant Dawn.

Could this be my favorite FE of all time.....we shall see

Re: Poll: Have Your Joy-Con Been Drifting?

Gerbwmu

1 of our 4 does occasionally and it is an original day 1 version. Hard for me to be too upset about it as it didn't start doing it until a couple months ago and my kids abuse the poor Switch and its accessories. Seems like a flaw in manufacturing but my issue could just as well be caused by us

Re: Feature: The Best Movie Licences On Nintendo Systems

Gerbwmu

SNES Star Wars Trilogy was great and to be honest.....some of the best games of 8 & 16 bit era were license tie ins........

I think they rush them now to release when the movie or show does. I don't remember that being the case in the 80's & 90's but it was a long time ago so maybe I'm misremembering

Re: Rumour: New Nvidia Shield TV Could Share The Same Chipset As The Upgraded Switch

Gerbwmu

@rjejr - but but but you get 3 games with the xBox SAD........

I finally broke down and bought an xbox last Christmas Eve for the boys. $199 for a slim with a game. Stupid thing works half the time and because it's unreliable the boys spend most of the time on the Switch. Now I'm contemplating buying a 2nd Switch.......should have just done that instead of the xbox

Re: Talking Point: Why Is It So Hard To Buy A Switch Dock Set?

Gerbwmu

I got one on the cheap a few months after they came out and no one would buy them. Got it for $45 plus a $10 off next shopping trip. I see them in stores a lot but not discounted for a while. I'd like a 3rd to leave at my mom's house. I may end up buying a 2nd Switch though which would solve the dock issue

Re: N64 Classics Turok And Turok 2 Are Headed To Nintendo Switch

Gerbwmu

Both were fun games. I played 2 way more then the original. I'm not interested in purchasing these though. They would have to be significant upgrades and that doesn't appear to be true. Turek 2 was an amazing graphical leap in console gaming though. I don't remember anything looking like that at the time
