We've seen some fancy tricks in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild since it was launched in 2017, but this is quite possibly the most impressive one we've ever witnessed in the game. As highlighted by Nintendo UK, the above video shows a skilled player, known as Peco, using multiple boomerangs at the same time to take down a Golden Lynel.
As you can see, Link simply stands there as the Lynel is stunned and torn to shreds by the razor-sharp blades on the boomerangs until it can take no more. The player even ends the attack with a photo finish right next to the kill.
If you haven't played Breath of the Wild and aren't familiar with Lynels, these lion-centaur-like creatures are considered to be one of the fiercest opponents in the game. If you see one, you're better off avoiding it unless you've prepared in advance for a mighty battle. Golden Lynels are even stronger with "brutal strength and extreme resilience" and are exclusive to the Master Mode.

What a truly bizarre legacy that our indigenous folk have left behind.
At times like this, I'm grateful to be an Aussie.
I never even thought about throwing several boomerangs at once... This game has so many possibilities, and they all just kind of seem to make sense as soon as you see them being thought up by someone else.
Link: <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.> <.< >.>
Yes Link, those are your boomerangs. Stop trying to watch all of them at the same time.
That makes no sense to me. I don't know what those boomerangs are, or if link has extra enhancement ... But even weaker lynels are super strong, and I'd be going through multiple weapons, exploring arrows and more to just kill one. Even with the stasis.
I'm far from an expert though
Another showcase of the endless possibilities that make this game a true masterpiece.
However, I'm still annoyed that they never fixed the unobtainable chests in Hateno and Aris Beach, and never updated the game to have enough item slots for all 107 pieces of armor (you can only have up to 100, so you have to get rid of 7). It irks me because we paid quite a lot for all these amiibo+DLC but we cannot fully reap all their bonuses. Usually Nintendo is quick to fix stuff like that, especially for a game that is so highly regarded, but they ignored it for whatever reason.
Someone posted the issue on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2GdXLMM8Y8
Almost 3 years have passed. The issues are well-known. I don't think they will ever fix it.
I just had one of those, “I suck at video game moments.” That was truly amazing.
I kind of want to go back and play it all over again now.......
Haha wow that was awesome
@SKTTR I think it was very intentional in the design of BOTW that it wasn’t catering towards collecting and hoarding of gear. I doubt Nintendo feels it’s something that needed fixing but added some potentially difficult decisions for players to make, the same way there was a constant need to cycle out weapons and the fact very rare items can break on the player. The game seems designed from the outset to not encourage you to try and get one of everything.
@Smigit It was enough to get me to stop playing honestly as it felt I could never truly get 100% because of it. I had already beaten all shrines and Ganon and all that and really just had the koroks and a few pieces of clothing left to gather so I was already mostly done and had a grand time with it all, but I might have played the game a good bunch more if they had fixed this.
On-topic: This is pretty amazing, gotta love some of the stuff people can pull off in this game. Wonder if new things like this will be possible in BOTW2.
What a stunning work of battle! I especially like the selfie and victory dance at the end of it.
Next, “Breath of the Wild Player Teaches Bokoblin How to Swim”
To be honest, they probably already have
Dang. I never did quite get the hang of boomerangs in this game. Always seemed more effort than they’re worth
That was amazing! Thank you for sharing!
How does he keep the boomerangs circling over and over?
That’s some kinda Ninja move right there.
Dang... I can't even parry an attack reliably.
Mind blown! That was amazing!
Impressive. He is very skilled.
Everytine I see BOTW footage, it makes me want to load up my save file. Alas, I went deep before beating Gannon and I never want to mess up that save file. Alas, only one save file. Alas, I don’t want to make multiple accounts. Alas, I don’t buy dlc.
I'm jealous of how good people are at combat in this game. I wonder if I would be better if crouch wasn't mapped under L3 though...
@SKTTR when a game asks you to choose wether you're going to have maxed out stamina OR energy, you can't be asking for that kind of things sadly.
Cool guys don't look at explosions, they say.
@Smigit While I agree with you in general, in the case of armor it is just an oversight from the developers. 100 inventory slots don't limit a normal player in any way. It only affects the hardcore completionists.
@Smigit I completed every other Zelda game 100%. It's weird to have 17 Zelda games encouraging and conditioning you to 100% them and then 1 new Zelda game that encourages you to not complete it 100% (and I have all 900 Korok seeds).
Other than that I never gave my armor different colors, even though there is a dyer in the game. There's the option to have armor in different colors, but there's not even enough room to have everything in default colors, and that locks completionists out to even try that option.
@echoplex Yeah, true.
@SKTTR well you can still get every piece of armour, you just can’t hold them all at once.
And there is a percentage tracker...collecting weapons and armour just doesn’t form a part of that.
@Smigit I know, but the problem still stands: You pay a lot for the extra armor (100+ bucks worth of amiibo) and you have extra work to juggle items around your inventory instead of having everything accessible at all times.
I need to sell 7 pieces of armor that I won, and gained, and worked for to access the stuff I bought with real money. And if I want the other items back, I have to work for them again (as they cost rupees).
The 100% is only for the map and nothing else. Getting 100% Map is only 25% Game completion. It doesn't include 100% Quests, 100% Items, and 100% Treasure Chests.
Pretty damn cool! ...The Lynels were all so intimidating to me I think I could stand to watch hundreds of these goons get stomped.
Game is almost three years old and we're still learning new techniques. Absolute masterpiece.
@Silly_G You do realize the Aussie is the Nintendo UK account who found the video and the actual player is Japanese.
That was very cool.
