Re: Nintendo Download: 14th September (North America)

Gerbwmu

Earthlock has gotten some great reviews.....I'm surprised by the $9.99 price......was expecting it to be more. I'm waiting to see about a Switch version though as I really dont want to out any more digital games on my Wii U.

Octopath Traveler is an outstanding demo

Re: Nintendo Builds the Hype for Super Mario Odyssey With a Direct Showcase

Gerbwmu

Game looks absolutely amazing.......like people are going to give it 11's amazing. Mini games, giant worlds, throw backs to every other Mario game and a Mario64 feel.

Nintendo made an amazing handheld (yes I know its a hybrid) and front loaded it with some of the best games ever made. I don't see how the Switch doesn't sell 15 million in it's 1st year.

Re: Feature: What We Expect from the Nintendo Direct - 13th September

Gerbwmu

@Doggedfrog - I keep thinking this is going to happen with the NES Classics coming out this holiday and SNES next. It will solve some of the demand problems, make people a little more understanding of the subscription rent VC versions on Switch and make Nintendo a few bucks on the side.......then again maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part

Re: UIG Entertainment Has Switch Shovelware To Please Farmers, Firefighters And Horse Lovers

Gerbwmu

@SLIGEACH_EIRE - I bought all of my items off of Amazon.......coupons and specials help......I seldom pay full price when a quick Internet search usually saves you a few dollars.

But since we are in the here and now and not worrying about anything but cost now.....
A PS4 Pro is $399
XBox One X is $499

Add in the extras you need.....you know ether net cables, a game, XBox Live

Re: UIG Entertainment Has Switch Shovelware To Please Farmers, Firefighters And Horse Lovers

Gerbwmu

@SLIGEACH_EIRE - I paid $300 for the Switch, $7 for a screen protector, $60 for a pro controller, and $40 for LoZBotW........and other then the game and system you don't need any of it......nor an SD card which I don't have but you can grab 64gb for $20.

So $427 for a system with a game and the ability to play 3 player games......not sure what other "new" system you can purchase for that price? XB1 was $499? PS4 was $399......even 3DS and Wii started at $250. You don't have to like Switch or ever buy one but your complaints are meaningless and apply to just about every system. If you want 3rd party games buy a Sony......if you want Nintendo games, then buy a Switch. It's pretty simple.

Re: Feature: What We Expect from the Nintendo Direct - 13th September

Gerbwmu

Ok......time for crazy predictions!

1) Xenoblade 2 release date US/Europe of Feb 2018
2) NES Classics for Switch. 30 games from the NES Classic on a cartridge for $49.99 released December
3) 3DS info will all be known or Announced localizations.......except for a special VC announcement coming in December
4) Prime 4 10 sec teaser
5) trailer and name of FE Switch

Re: Review: Metroid: Samus Returns (3DS)

Gerbwmu

Well made by the sounds of it and another outside studio to go with Tantlus that Nintendo can utilize to make remakes, enhanced versions, etc.

Well done MurcurySteam........you just secured yourself another source of income and potentially a Nintendo fan base

Re: Jools Watsham Highlights Low Chicken Wiggle Sales, Confirms Upcoming Discount

Gerbwmu

Poor timing I think......if I remember right Mario Maker 3DS got announced right before he was going to announce this and then Switch happened. By all accounts, it's a great game but I'm a horrible handheld gamer and cant finish the games I have for my 3DS so he wont get a sale from me on this 1. Hopefully with a price reduction and some help from the eShop, he can get some sales.

Re: Target Names the Nintendo Switch as a 'Top Toy' for 2017

Gerbwmu

Keep it in the minds of the populace anyway you can. The faster this device gets to 10 million sales and beyond the more vialble it becomes for 3rd party games and the more chances Nintendo will take with fringe software. That is something that benefits us all and I hope the next 3 months are crazy for sold Switches. 10 Million isn't unreasonable by the end of December, assuming they can manufacturer enough. Lets see the 3rd parties and their offerings fall of 2018.....I bet it is a far stronger and more diverse then this year.......which honestly feels like the best fall lineup for a Nintendo console in sometime.

Re: Build Your Switch eShop Hype With This Nindies Summer Sizzle Reel

Gerbwmu

A pretty great looking collection of games.......hopefully they play as well as the impression they give. I'd say I want to buy at least 10 of them which is pretty high %.......how many I actually buy is another story.

Still for all the grief people give indies for not being AAA titles......I tend to enjoy them more then some of the yearly AAA commodities the big budgets are throwing our way. Maybe it's nostalgia?

Re: Secret Of Mana Is Getting A 3D Remake, But Guess What Console It's Not Coming To

Gerbwmu

I still think we will be getting a NES Mini and SNES Classic cartridges for Switch, or at the very least a VC that day 1 has all 51 games from the 2 on it and if that is the case, why do a remake?

I'm waiting on a direct from Nintendo that will clear up some of these ongoing mysteries and give a glimps into 2018......until then I'm reserving my judgment on most stories.

Re: Dragon Quest XI and Nintendo Switch Still Dominate the Japanese Charts

Gerbwmu

@JamesR - I'm beginning to wonder what MS Gaming divisions end game is currently. They seem to be getting cozier with Nintendo, cross over play, Minecraft on WiiU & Switch, Donkey Kong Country trilogy on Wii U eShop. Most of their exclusives are playable on computers. I could see them making high end consoles only starting with XB1X and distributing some software across all platforms but keeping the best looking versions on their high end consoles and gaming computers.

It will be interesting to see what E3 holds next year after XB1X has been out for 8 months

Re: The Next Wave Of ACA Neo Geo Titles For Switch Is Confirmed

Gerbwmu

Do you think these Neo Geo releases are part of the reason nothing has been said about Virtual Console? These are coming out fast and I wonder if internally, Nintendo wanted to delay any VC talk or releases to give these titles the spotlight before the eventual flood of VC releases.......either that or it's just related to the online service not being ready yet.

I'm really hoping for baseball stars to come to the system

Re: Dragon Quest XI Delivers Extraordinary Sales on 3DS, as Switch Hardware Continues to Thrive

Gerbwmu

@GrailUK - 3rd party is great for prolonging the life and it is a great thing for 3DS owners, but beyond that what will come and for how long. Also the question was about Nintendo leaving it behind and from that standpoint it really does look like Nintendo has. Samus and Pokémon are both remakes by non 1st party developers and at this point we don't know if Q2 will make it west. So is Nintendo continuing support or are they leaving it behind for 3rd parties to keep afloat?

Re: Dragon Quest XI Delivers Extraordinary Sales on 3DS, as Switch Hardware Continues to Thrive

Gerbwmu

@GrailUK - for the sake of discussion.....hasn't Nintendo already dropped the 3DS. It will have a couple more years of life but what is Nintendo doing to extend that? What new games are Nintendo developing? It is being supported by 3rd party games that may never make it out of Japan and a couple remakes by non Nintendo developers (Pokémon & Samus Returns). After that what is coming west and is Nintendo making any of it? I'd say Nintendo has moved on already and 3DS owners are feasting on left overs and a few Japanese 3rd parties that will take the last bit of money they can before jumping to the new generation.

Re: Review: Overcooked: Special Edition (Switch eShop)

Gerbwmu

Interesting to see frame rate issues in quite a few different games on Switch. Most have been patched and fixed, but maybe Nintendo needs to help the devs with that earlier to avoid the launch problems and perception of Switch being "under powered" for indies and the like.

Re: Preview: Jumping Into the Crazy World of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Gerbwmu

I think this will sell well, and after this FE Warriors will probably do well too. I hope this is the start of exclusive 3rd party content on a regular basis for the Switch. Not every game has to be a Nintendo IP cross over but if the 3rd parties continue to make unique experiences for the Switch, I think they will do better then just throwing out the annual franchises and hoping for the best.

This game seems to be for me.....Turn based strategy is usually up my ally so I will get this eventually......but not day 1. Maybe holidays or after with gift cards.

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Sold 4.7 Million Units Worldwide

Gerbwmu

Well......after the 102K sales week in Japan, plus the rest of the sales world wide in July, the Switch has to be well over 5 million at this point. If they can manufacture enough for the Holiday season then we may see 9 million or more by the end of 2017. I'd be shocked if the 10 million goal wasn't hit by March.

Hopefully this is good news from a games perspective. Should mean more games in general amd some extra 3rd party support from some.of the bigger name publishers to give everyone more options in gaming.

Re: Review: Splatoon 2 (Switch)

Gerbwmu

Without 2 player split screen, I can't consider this a 10. At very least they could have had a 2 player practice Salmon Run mode.

Having said that, this seems like a great game and arguing over an objective score that has no real meaning is pointless. I'm buying it and will play a lot of it with the kids

Re: Sales Data For 2017 Reveals Nintendo Is Killing It In Japan

Gerbwmu

I'm a little shocked XB1 isnt over 100K total sales in Japan. I know it has struggled but I still figured it would be higher then that.

Nintendo has dominated this list for a while. Hopefully the Switch continues to perform well so we get a lot of unique games like the 3DS has
