@Ralizah popcorn is at the ready. People on gaming forums probably make up 1% of any game/systems population I don't know why they think things will fail and collapse because they have a couple hundred upvotes on Reddit

@stuie1234 let people do what they want with their money. If they like having physical and like collecting the boxes then just let them enjoy things.

How dare the company release their games as intended and not optimized so that 0.01% of the fanbase is satisified.

The only games I really wanted were the 2 Pokemon games, Wind Waker, Luigi's Mansion and I wanted to try out Fire Emblem without selling both kidneys and well, those were confirmed quick. The only other "maybe" for me would be Smash but Melee is just so bare bones after Brawl and Ultimate came out so I guess I'll choose that.

@mlt I bought Engage immediately because I absolutely loved Three Houses. An hour into the game I was like "Oh.... this is.... different"

That being said, the pre-battle music is just great. Will listen to that on repeat for hours.

Is anyone actually working on the followup to Skyrim? I haven't heard about anything Elder Scrolls related that hasnt been a re-release or remaster in years

I don't have a top 50 but I'd say after 8 years my go to's would be:

1. Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
2. Fire Emblem Three Houses
3. Octopath Traveler 2
4. Super Smash Bros Ultimate
5. Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
6. Octopath Traveler
7. Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition
7. Animal Crossing New Horizons
8. Ring Fit Adventure
9. Pokemon Legends Arceus

Then I've got a bunch of games that I enjoyed but wouldn't call "favourites" like Pikmin 4, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokemon Shield and Violet, Celeste, Xenoblade Chronicles 3...

Overall a great 8 years, can't wait to hopefully revisit these games with Switch 2 upgrades!

@Rainz honestly I don't spent a lot on entertainment other than video games, and with the Switch I got... about 1500 hours in Smash, 400 hours in Fire Emblem, probably 500 hours combined in the 2 Zeldas, 400 hours in the 2 Octopath Travelers.... so for cost/time value over 8 years, if I get similar time spent on Switch 2 I can see that being pretty cheap in the long term.

Just checked and same day for Canada! 699.99 for the Mario Kart bundle is my budget for the year for entertainment though

@Anti-Matter forget the 60fps, does it take less time to load is all I care about. I could write a college thesis in less time than it takes to load the game (especially when Turnip price farming...)

@Member_the_game Same here! I've accepted that the people upset are the vocal minority and I will enjoy the 100 hours I'll be playing this game for the next couple years to come.

@HRdepartment 80 dollars. 90 dollars is misinformation. But also as I've mentioned before - you're not paying 80 dollars to stare at the box. If you get 100 hours of playtime, you're paying 80 cents per hour. For cost per hour of entertainment, I cannot fathom how many people seem to think video game pricing is a ripoff regardless of it's a 10-20 dollar difference.

Come on Wario Stadium finally! That was one of my favourite tracks in N64 back in the day. Hope it uses a bunch of tight interlocking routes to keep the same appeal as the original.

Now just release a similar upgrade for New Horizons and Fire Emblem Three Houses pleeeease. I have 400 hours in Three Houses and half of it was spent on loading screens.

@nocdaes Absolutely 100%. In Ontario here, I used to pay 3.79 for a bag of milk (yes, we have bags of milk in Ontario and other provinces, we're kooky like that) in college, yesterday i bought a bag for 6.29. The fact that people are moaning and complaining about a 10 or 20 dollar difference on a LIFETIME PRODUCT is just.. like come on. Everything is going up. You cannot expect that if Nintendo is paying more for parts for their systems that they will not need to charge more for their products. It's simple business. But the internet just sees dollar go up and loses it.

@BaldB3lper78 100%. Most people who aren't on reddit or a Nintendo specific website will not care about 10 or 20 bucks. The Switch 2 will do fine.

It's a new console for the first time in 8 years - if I'm worried about spending an extra 20 bucks on a game, I'll just order 3 less beers at a pub one month. Problem solved.

@Wordbonder because they likely have data suggesting that barely anybody used the feature, so why would they put resources towards it? I never once touched the themes on 3DS. Making a simplistic UI isn't a downgrade, it's a logical decision.

I'm convinced only 0.1% of people actually care about the home UI. You turn on the Switch, click a game, and go. What do you need fancy colours or music for on a screen you spend 3 seconds on?

@johnedwin and now people who didn't buy those consoles can play them here. I would've gotten a PS5 solely for FF7 Remake but now i don't have to and am saving about 700 bucks.

It's an extra 20 bucks on a game you're going to spend hours and hours of time playing. If you're not, don't buy it. If you play one of these games for 100 hours, that's 80 cents per hour for cost of entertainment, the heck are you going to find entertainment that cheap anywhere else?? I'm convinced a lot of people reacting negatively genuinely can't afford it (which no shade thrown, life isn't the same for everyone, fair) or people who don't know how to budget money versus time value. Not to mention inflation and I'm sure other "current events" aren't helping either.

@ChessboardMan why would you need to switch between Switch and Switch 2 versions? if you're playing the Switch version with upgrade pack, it's not going to magically stop working on the original Switch. And why can't you take the Switch 2 with you it's still portable?

If it's $20 or under, I'm buying that upgrade pack ASAP. Breath of the Wild is my favourite game of all time I would love to replay it enhanced!

Oh man to narrow it down.... favourite would be Breath of the Wild and I couldn't imagine never playing that game again, but I have hundreds of hours into Fire Emblem Three Houses and both Octopath games. But then there's Smash Bros where I have about 1500 hours...

Gonna go with Zelda for now but the others are tied very close for 2nd place.

Gold and Silver that high is certainly a choice. I know HGSS is a little overrated itself but thats another discussion.... but GS above FRLG and ORAS and BW?!

Still no Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze on sale?? I wanted to grab it this week or Black Friday but nothing. For a port you'd think it would be a no-brainer especially with the new one coming soon.

Also @butterysmooth30fps I will upgrade day 1. I dont need 4K graphics I just need consistent performance for all games.

Alfyn and Partitio were both my starting characters so seeing them cheersing a drink is awesome. Octopath 2 is probably my top 3 favourite games on the Switch with the first one in top 10. Great series and well deserved.

I thought it would just be a cool way to look at the cards, I've never tried getting into the battling but figured I'd try the game out. Got the Charizard crown EX in the first 3 pulls and was like "Oh no, this is how the addiction starts....."
