Re: Microsoft Has Just Bought Bethesda, Giving It Doom, Fallout, Elder Scrolls And Wolfenstein

I think Microsoft has stated at some point during all these acquisitions, that these companies will still be relatively autonomous in their operations. So I am sure multi-platform franchises will still be multi-platform (look at Minecraft). Money will just filter to Microsoft.

However, Game Pass value will shoot up as Bethesda games will all be added to Game Pass (and stay there). When Starfield/ES6 do come out, they will be Game Pass day 1 instead of paying $70/piece elsewhere - that Game Pass subscription is looking mighty appealing!

This game was amazing! I played it via Game Pass via Xbox One X and well as my Surface Book 2 (thanks Xbox Play Anywhere) and it was a smooth experience on both.

Pretty awesome that Switch is getting a release - especially since I believe it was said it just wasn't possible with all the enhancements to the new game.

Re: Feature: What's The Deal With Super Mario 64's "Shindou Pak Taiou" Version, Anyway?

@Large-Kelpfries From a developer side of things, it depends on the level of effort required to fix it. Bugs are bugs - regardless if it's something that hardcore gamers find fun, it's still technically a bug that prevents the software from running "as intended" - albeit probably way more minor on the bug list.

If it's a quick fix, fix it. If it's something more significant...well, I guess that's up to development studio budget on whether it's even worth fixing.

Re: Rare Celebrates Its 35th Anniversary

@TG16_IS_BAE @ritouf Are you two being sarcastic? There is this little game called Sea of Thieves...maybe you have heard of it?

Also Rare is working on a game called Everwild which was shown during the recent Xbox Series X Showcase.

Plus the new Battletoads game (coming out this month) is being co-developed with Rare.

Many of the key developers from Rare's "golden era" are working at Playtonic - hence why the Yooka-Laylee franchise seem so...familiar.

Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Release A Digital-Only Switch?

GamingFan4Lyf

I said no.

Really what for?!

I am sure the card reader inside doesn't add much cost or add bulk to the system - and besides, Nintendo would need to add more internal storage (or sell it with like a 256GB min-SD card already inserted) which might mean it sells at a higher price for the cost of increased storage/additional SD card.

Microsoft and Sony can actually lower the price/reduce form factor by selling "All-Digital" editions. There is an advantage there.

@outsider83 I miss the Virtual Console. I had like 90+ games stretched across multiple consoles. It was the closest thing to a one-stop shop for video game preservation.

These days it's all about making individual collections. It's nice that we have so many to choose from, but it still doesn't beat scrolling through the pages upon pages of game tiles like I had on the Wii Menu. For me, it was just as satisfying as having the games physically on a shelf (with no clutter).
