Re: Port Specialist Engine Software Thinks Switch Will Continue "To Do Well" Despite Arrival Of Next-Gen

Nintendo' strategy regarding the timing of their hardware releases has been perfect this time around. Sure, it was kind of forced upon them because of the hard time the Wii U had, but they've had an amazing start with the Switch, and now it's into its third year, they can probably afford to implement a huge slash in price on the current model around the time the PS5 and new Xbox is released to stimulate sales, as well as inevitably releasing the Switch Pro to take the current models place in terms of pricing structure.

Imagine if they release the Switch Pro at £299-£329, drop the current Switch to £199 and the Switch Lite to £149, all at RRP, while the Xbox and PS5 go for around £399, I think sales will rocket once again, especially with a stellar software lineup including Metroid 4 (hopefully), BOTW 2, Bayonetta 3 etc etc.

@JayJ I'd say FAST RMX is a must, but the sheer lack of participants online is a really sad state of affairs. I bought it day 1 on Switch, back when you couldn't play against friends. Now you can though me and my brother race each other every night. But go on normal online and you'll be lucky to find 2 people! We need more players!

I can't believe it's been 17 years since F-Zero GX. Considering the extremely low budget and short development time of GX, you'd think then that either Nintendo would give the franchise to someone like Shin'en who already have a fantastic framework to work from with FAST RMX. Just think about what they could achieve with a slightly bigger budget, perhaps a couple of extra developers on board and a decent marketing campaign.

Literally just Modify FAST RMX to include F-Zero ships and characters, make a couple dozen new tracks, a few extra modes and voila. They already have the game made, they only need to to tweak the handling, all of the frame rate, the resolution, the graphics, everything is already there. It would be basically like making DLC and releasing it as a standalone version.

@GrailUK Although I'd love Switch Wars, unless they're going to give it to a different studio, I can't see Intelligent Systems abandoning Fire Emblem. Plus we have Tiny Metal and Wargroove which have been well received, is there room for another Wars game so soon? I'd say they need to change things up quite radically but then again I didn't enjoy Battalion Wars one bit.

Never thought I'd be bothered about achievements but it's been fun hunting them down on Ori.

At least they extend your playtime and therefore value for money, and if they did something like reward you with exclusive avatars, home screen music soundtracks, themes, sound fx packs etc, all to use on the Switch's home screen then everyone would go after them for sure.

@kevin74 King of Cards was fantastic. I think it's the easiest of the 4 as his move set allows you to whizz through levels- he's possibly slightly overpowered, however this is countered by losing a full heart instead of half a heart like in the other three adventures. For sure it took me the least amount of time to complete out of the 4 but the decreased difficulty level made it slightly more enjoyable than the other 3 (from memory) as I don't remember ever getting frustrated by being stuck on a certain segment for more than a few tries. Even the final boss I think I defeated on the 3rd go?

Re: Guide: Switch, Switch Lite Or 2DS XL? The Nintendo Christmas Console Buying Guide For Parents

I have just bought a Switch Lite for my 6 year old. I already own a 3DS so thought it was pointless buying him a New 2DS as he already has access to mine. I was unsure that a console of his own at this age was to soon but his ability to plough through levels on Captain Toad Treasure Tracker and Box Boy on my Switch has convinced me that it's not too soon to put is his brain further to the test with other brain teasing puzzle based games.
