Fancy a new Zelda-like game while you wait for Nintendo to release the next big one? Then A Knight's Quest might be the game for you. Apart from being compared to Link's outings, it's a described as a modern take on classic adventures of old that's said to be funny, fresh and genuinely breathtaking.
It's being published by Curve Digital, developed by Sky 9 Games (with help from d3t - previously known for the Shenmue remasters) and will arrive on multiple platforms including the Switch this Fall for £19.99 / €24.99 / $24.99.
You'll take control of Rusty, who is a kind-hearted and clumsy adventurer who accidentally starts a chain of events which threaten to destroy the world. Of course, it's now his responsibility to save the world by solving "mind-bending" conundrums, fighting challenging enemies and defeating giant bosses as he platforms his way through the colourful kingdom of Regalia.
Rusty’s adventure will take him to the desert town of Zameris, high over the ice-laden Peaky Peaks and into the Cursed Swamp, among many others. Along the way, he’ll encounter a colourful cast of memorable characters which bring the world vividly to life.
The game contains roughly 30-hours of gameplay and promises to never feel bloated:
Many modern adventure games introduce all kinds of additional systems – ones which can often become fussy when players expect finesse. But A Knight’s Quest is an action adventure pure and simple. Combat is fast and fluid, and platforming a dream, with Rusty’s repertoire of acrobatic moves effortless to pull off. Playing the hero has never felt so rewarding.

Everything looks nice except those faces lol
Looks like my cup of tea! Gives me Maximo vibes, which is a very good thing.
When I saw "Zelda-like" I was worried this would be another indie clone of A Link to the Past. I am pleasantly surprised that is not the case.
Doesn't sell me on the game, but it does leave me more open to be sold, if I hear more good things about it.
This sadly looks like a crappy budget game reaching beyond its means... but hopefully it's good! A sprawling 3D Zelda-like would be a welcome addition to the Switch library
I think it looks pretty good!
At least a good game for my niece and nephew to get into the genre, just like a hat in time will be.
While it doesn't look quite as polished as a Zelda title would be, I really like the looks of this! Another one to add to the list.
This game looks to be full of charm! The trailer started off kind of disinteresting to me, then slowly blossomed into a beautiful, full of character flower. I am excited for this one.
Looks like they have some POP type mechanics and the R&C rail grind. Bit of a mix and looks fairly fast paced so will check it out for sure.
I like how it combines action-adventuring, puzzles and platforming. Hope it arrives in November or December so I can first obtain Switch Online and Astral Chain in October. And a Pro Controller, if possible.
Loved the trailer - I'm in. I've been interested since the earlier looks of the game but now its just gotten that much better. I had to watch this video without sound since I'm at work but even then I could still tell it was pretty funny in its delivery.
Day one for sure.
Looks meh at best.
who gave the go ahead on the lead character design? Looks decent though, some elements in there which could possible work beautifully in Zelda games such as the wall running.
@jagetron yes everything looked nice except the character designs. Not just people but also monsters looked bad. Maybe they should find a new character designer.
There's always room for more games in the vein of classic 3D Zelda. I'll keep my expectations in check but I'm happy to keep an eye on the game going forward and I hope it turns out to be a pretty good Zelda clone.
I think that looks really good. If it reviews well I’m in
Seems pretty interesting going to try this out!
Looks like the main character crawls up ladders really slowly. Always a pet peeve of mine.
This looks nifty, gotta appreciate any game that adds rail grinding segments.
Always up for new Hyglide-like games, be it Zelda or others.

This game looks very promising.
Looks wonderful to me. Zelda was an obvious inspiration here but I won't pretend that bothers me.
Worth a look, to be honest. Not really feeling the main character design much, but I'm more interested in the game mechanics that the game has to offer, anyway.
Doesn't look bad.
