It doesn't always work out for every developer that releases one of its games on the Nintendo Switch, but there are also a lot of success stories out there. One of the more surprising ports released on the platform last year, that few Switch owners probably saw coming, was DC Universe Online.

In a recent interview with DualShockers, Daybreak Game Company Executive Producer Jack Emmert revealed the developer and publisher was "very pleased" with the critical reception of the game:

I feel that the game was practically made for the Switch! And the fan base has been really terrific on there, too. Tons of folks are saying ‘it’s great to finally have a real MMO on the Switch.

Daybreak chose not to reveal any specific player or revenue numbers associated with the Switch port.

This follows on from the news that DC Universe Online will be getting its own dedicated studio called Dimensional Ink Games. Emmert said the new studio would consider the Switch a viable platform for its future projects, after the success of Daybreak's MMO port.
