Re: Switch Owners Aren't Worried About Visual Presentation, According To Crashlands Dev

Exciter89

Poor graphics or good graphics, matters not to me.

It really winds me up when developers use the Switch's power as an excuse for deciding not to develop for it simply because they can't make the aesthetic match other consoles.

I'd love something like Red Dead on Switch. If to make it work it means sacrificing a lot of details and a few rough edges then so be it. As long as the game still plays well then why not just go for it.

If all a game has going for it are the visuals then there's something wrong.

Re: Switch Nindies Nominated Across Multiple Categories At The Game Awards

Exciter89

Shows how slow this year has been for Nintendo as a developer/ publisher when the only exclusive game to be nominated is Octopath Treveller, and then a handful of games in the Family category which does nothing but cement peoples preconception of Nintendo being just for kids and families.

It's been a great year for nindies but other than that what have we had that's nomination worthy other than XC2?

Re: Review: Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! - The Perfect Entry Point For Newcomers, A Nostalgia Trip For Veterans

Exciter89

@roadrunner343 There is no justification for not including pro controller compatibility but I'm not arguing against that fact. I just find the excuse that you're going to pass up on a game because you're forced into using joy cons as control method to be farcical. If you really want to play the game then that problem ought to be easily overlooked. I couldn't care less as I have no interest in playing this entry but at least come up with a valid reason not to want to play it.

Re: Indie Devs Explain Why Their Games Are Successful On Nintendo Switch

Exciter89

It's definitely the portability factor, and a lot of is nostalgia aswell for me. If an indie game is released on both PS4 and Switch, it's Switch every time for me and I'm willing to pay more for it.

The 8 bit and 16 lookalike games reminds me so much of playing the GBA as a kid and I love it. Can't wait to purchase Moonlighter once I'm done with Spiderman on the PS4 (by the way what a game that is!).

Re: Nintendo Adds Trio Of Games To Switch Online NES Library Next Week

Exciter89

I've just joined the darkside and bought myself a PS4. Subscribed immediately to PS NOW, which just highlights what an absolute crock of sh*te Switch Online is.

To come in line with what PS NOW offers, Nintendo would need to offer titles such as Windwaker HD to compare to something like Red Dead on PS3, as well as countless Gamecube and N64 games etc. I'd happily pay £12+ for something similar on Switch.

Re: Nintendo Switch Hits 22.86 Million Worldwide Sales, Has Now Outsold The GameCube

Exciter89

What's left to announce out of Nintendo's arsenal of franchises that will propel the Switch once again, after the release of Smash Bros and Pokemon. Animal Crossing, and the next proper instalment of Pokemon, but after that was else would be a huge console seller?

Starfox, Metroid, F-Zero, Luigi's Mansion etc aren't going to do it. So what's left? Hopefully a new Mario Kart or another Zelda?

Re: Team Cherry's Decision To Cancel Hollow Knight On Wii U Was Hard, But Ultimately For The Best

Exciter89

I need to get back into this. Played over 20 hours of it but ended up finding no way of moving forward. I've obviously missed something along the way to prevent me from advancing or whatever but it's been a couple of months now, I wouldn't know where I've already searched or what. Wish there was some sort of hint system or a log of things that you've already achieved etc.

Re: A Zelda-Like Open World Pokémon Game Is "Still On The Cards", Says Junichi Masuda

Exciter89

Said this as soon as BOTW came out. S

Start off in your town, and wander off in any direction you want. Certain areas would still be cut off by surf, cut, strength etc but it should be up to you which HM you search for first in order to explore the map how you want. Pokemon wandering around in real time would be amazing, with certain monsters having different temperaments than others. Some could be peaceful and not wish to immediately engage in battle while others would rush in head first upon first sight. The possibilities would be endless.

Couple this with a Xenoblade style art style and it has the potential to be the best ever.

Re: Nintendo Switch Now Supports Digital Game Sharing, But There's A Catch

Exciter89

So let me get this straight. Me and my brother could go say 60/40 on a game (60% for the primary account since he'll be the owner of the game). I give him my login details for my account, so that when I'm done with playing the game for the day, night or once completed, he can access it and play using my account on his switch? As for save data, as long as there's more than on save file, we could just use separate files?

Re: Opinion: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Exciter89

O and for them to say 'what are those speical offers? We'll announce more soon' was shambolic. Soon is NOW! They've had all this time to prepare Online and the Direct, for them to say more coming soon. What, are we going to have another Direct for that announcement too? Could have at least given us double points on all purchases in your first week or £5 off any game etc etc... F*cking soon...

Re: Opinion: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Exciter89

I was hoping to god that NES games weren't the only console we'd have access to with Switch Online. When you consider that PS4 and Xbox have access to modern games and in some cases brand new AAA releases, this is very very poor. It shouldn't matter that this is a new product from Nintendo compared to PS and Xbox, this is the competition right now. And besides, who would give a crap about 80% of those NES games if we had access to SNES, N64 and Gamecube?

Re: Nintendo Reveals Details Of Nintendo Switch Online

Exciter89

$20 is fine, for cloud saves and the ability to play online alone. But I absolutely could not give a sh*t about NES games. Hopefully SNES Games and GBA games come to the free to play service. Anything beyond that such as N64 and GameCube games I'm happy to pay individually for, but for the love of God can we actually get some access to them?

Looks like the digital version of 7 Wonders Duel. Reviewed very well everywhere else, interested to see what NL makes of it.
