Re: Anniversary: Can You Believe It? The Nintendo 3DS Is Now 10 Years Old

Still got my Aqua Blue 3DS from launch day, one of the systems that received the Ambassador Library of games after the swift price drop.

On the hunt for a New 3DS XL but prices seem to be ludicrous at the moment.

Also, the 3D effect was insane and set the bar for platformers. It made it so much easier to judge distance and drops. I hope that the Switch 2 incorporates a 3D capable screen. Just give those that like it the option!

Is it difficult in the sense that you always feel as though you can do it? For example Shovel Knight. It never seemed like it was the games fault. You knew exactly what you needed to do and you know you can do it and you always only had yourself to blame! And it was that feeling that made you me again and again and again

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 16th)

been playing God Of War for what seems like an eternity so I need to finish that this weekend! Got so much waiting for me on the Switch...

Mo: Astray
Kentucky Route Zero
Bastion
Horace
Abzu
The Messenger
Inmost
Ori Will Of The Whisps.

God knows why I keep looking at the eshop to see what's on sale... Must resist!

Re: Feature: Remembering Super Mario 3D Land, 3D World’s Oft-Forgotten Predecessor

it was so revolutionary it makes any other platformer played on a 2d screen so difficult. On Odyssey for example, there were so many times I'd struggle to judge distance and drops etc, or where mario would need to be to hit a block above his head etc. Likewise, Astrobot on PSVR takes that to a whole new level. You can traverse the world with ease like a ninja, never guessing how far to jump or fall etc. Hopefully we one day see a return on the 3D screen on the next Switch as an option for those that want it!

@Pod as a non hobbyist game creator, I'd say ANY game is NOT easy but when you see such technical marvels across all platforms I don't think an experienced team would not be able to make this work.

Or if it is then just make pre determined tracks that get extremely difficult- if there's more than one survivor by the end then who ever is 1st wins

Re: Soapbox: Here's How I'd Fix The Pokémon Series

I got turned off the series when the Exp Share was available from the beginning- it just made the whole game far too easy.

Black & White was my last full outing, with all of my Pokemon transferred from games as early as Ruby & Sapphire. My level 100 Dragonite, Alakazam and Arcanine were unstoppable and I nearly filled the entire Pokedex. God knows why I got rid of it after ploughing over 500 hours into it! One of my biggest regrets ever!
