Since the delay of the latest Nintendo Direct, multiple game sales have gone live, demos have been released and now there's even a new game announcement.

Square Enix has revealed Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD will arrive "soon" on the Nintendo Switch. The free-to-start title was originally released earlier this year on Android and iOS devices and is said to be an abridged version of Final Fantasy XV which first arrived in 2016. Here's the PR courtesy of Gematsu:

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD, fans and newcomers alike can follow the journey of crown prince Noctis and his brothers in arms, Prompto, Ignis and Gladiolus, with fully voiced key event scenes and faithfully recreated battles.

All of the treasured moments from Final Fantasy XV, like driving the Regalia across breath-taking landscapes, camping, chocobo riding and more, can be experienced in a whole new way with the game’s creatively reimagined art style and in HD resolution for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 system versions.

This announcement follows rumours earlier this week when the mobile game icon appeared on the PlayStation Store. Since then, it's now been confirmed this version of the game will cost £24.99 / $29.99 and is 40% off this price in the first week.

It's also worth noting how last September, FFXV Director Hajime Tabata teased the full Final Fantasy experience could eventually show up on Switch. Not long after he made these comments, the Pocket Edition of the game was unveiled
