Re: The Cotton Reboot For Switch Arrives In The West This July

EmirParkreiner

@robr
About random delays of western releases:
Sometimes the age rating agencies of certain countries can cause trouble (for example, it has been hinted at that Germany's USK is the reason Mushihimesama has temporarily disappeared from the EU eShop).

Sometimes when it comes to physical releases, a certain component can be missing (for example a lot of stuff was stuck in the ships on the Suez Canal, i heard there is some kind of problem at a port in China currently).

Also, when it comes to physical releases from certain companies like Strictly Limited Games and Limited Run Games, these publishers who cater to collectors often want to make sure all updates are included on the cart... which leads to delays of the western release whenever the japanese version gets an update. (This lead to significant delays for the Limited Run Games version of Panzer Dragoon Remake and the Strictly Limited Games version of Bubble Bubble 4 Friends).

@KayFiOS
Actually, the Wii U (which was a commercial failure) was the only Nintendo home console which only had Mario Kart.
N64 had Wave Race, 1080, F-Zero, Excite Bike and Diddy Kong Racing.
GameCube had Wave Race, 1080, Kirby Air Ride and F-Zero.
Wii had Excite Truck, Excitebots, WiiWare Excite Bike and Donkey Kong Jet Race/Barrel Blast.

Re: Review: Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection - Ryu Hayabusa Deserves Better Than This

EmirParkreiner

So, after reading the review, i still have a question about the gore: I noticed that there are 2 different versions with different age ratings on the JP eShop, and from what i understand the western version gets an automatic update for more gore/violence.

So, does this mean that the update (and the higher rated version on the JP eShop) have more gore then the PS3 versions of NG 1&2?

Re: Want More Cool Mini Game Systems? Say Hello To The Taito EGRET II Mini

EmirParkreiner

It looks really cool, however, on my Switch i already have a whole bunch of Taito classics:

  • Darius Cozmic Collection (Darius 1, 2, Gaiden, Twin, Force, Alpha, Plus...)
  • Darius Cozmic Revelation (G Darius and Dariusburst EX)
  • Spacey Invaders Invincible Collection (Spacey Invaders I, II, IV, DX, Gigamax, Extreme...)
  • Bubble Bobble 4 Friends (includes the original Bubble Bobble

Also various Taito classics have been released in Hamster's Arcade Archives series on the eShop (Puzzle Bobble/Bust-A-Move 2&3, Ninja Warriors...).

Re: Switch Frame Rate And Resolution For House Of The Dead: Remake Seemingly Revealed

EmirParkreiner

They REALLY need to support the IR camera on the right Joycon, IR controls can pretty much perfectly simulate a lightgun while gyro controls are simply not good enough.

I remember this team made some mistakes with the original release of their Panzer Dragoon Remake, and then greatly improved the game based on fan feedback , so i think using social media and Email to tell the developers about the superiority of IR aiming and the possibility to use it with the right Joycon makes sense.

Re: Review: Raiden IV x Mikado Remix - Another Astoundingly Good Shmup For Switch

EmirParkreiner

So, has anything been said about a EU/UK release for Raiden IV x Mikado Remix?
It was sad enough that Raiden V and Caladrius Blaze didn't get a physical release in Europe, but now Raiden IV isn't even on the EU/UK eShop so far...

I imported the JP Special Edition anyway for the soundtrack CD, but for the sake of making shmups popular with broader audiences again i think a official EU/UK release would be nice.

Re: Review: Dariusburst Another Chronicle EX + - A Slightly Disappointing Port Of A Modern Arcade Classic

EmirParkreiner

@YANDMAN
The first the modes in this release and Chronicle Saviours are the same: AC (a typical Darius arcade campaign), EX (a more difficult arcade campaign) and Chronicle (a massive campaign with a ton of stages).
However, this new Dariusburst Another Chronicle EX+ and the older Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours each feature a different fourth mode.
DBACEX+ has "Event Mode" which is a collection of campaigns which were previously only available as temporary events in the arcade and some new sets of stages done in the same style.
DBCS has "CS Mode" which had a lot of unique stages, but most importantly is the only mode that does not have the arcade's ultra-wide aspect ratio and thus is the only mode without massive black bars on the top and the bottom of the screen.
Also, for DBCS there is a lot of paid DLC available which uses licenses from other companies, like a Capcom DLC with planes/ships from Capcom shmups, a Cave DLC with the helicopter from Ketsui, a Sega DLC with Opa Opa from Fantasy Zone and so on.
