Re: Dispatch Games Promises "A New Day" After Months Of Silence

Honestly, all of this was very predictable from the beginning as they also had a ton of trouble with Psyvariar Delta, which was completely bizarre because Psyvariar Delta's original japanese release already contained all languages.

At least with Radirgy Swag, they have the excuse of actually having to localize the game.

I liked Mickey Mouse V Magic Wands a lot back in the day.
Honestly, this whole approach of tacking on a license on a OK Game is still better then developing terrible games directly based on a license like western developers did back then (and still do).

That Hugo TV show where people would call in and control Hugo in minigames with the buttons on their phone also exsisted here in Germany.

@Damo
I have the Dreamcast game and while it has one fatal flaw, i really think it's harsh to call it terrible.
Music, level design and most of the gameplay mechanics are pretty good and the graphics are absolutely great.

The games' downfall is a weird mistake they made with the controls: Whenever you let go of the analogue stick, the character flies back to the center of the screen, which makes it unnecessarily hard to control the character.

If this one issue was fixed (so the character would stay in place while the crosshair recenters in front of the character like in Starfox and Panzer Dragoon), the game would be great, probably as great as Starfox 64 and Panzer Dragoon 2.

Re: Review: Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit - A Joyful Fusion Of Reality And Fiction

Got it today, it's really fun so far. I definitely see myself spending a lot of time building courses and racing the AI and maybe taking turns in time trial.

The whole mixed reality thing can be really impressive, seeing classic Mario character as obstacles in my kitchen is definitely cool, as are those moments when you're totally in the race like in a normal Mario Kart and then the little toy kart is sudenly coming in your direction.

About the common concerns people have about carpet/different surfaces and room size: At least on my carpet in the bedroom, i have no trouble at all, however, different room sizes DO make a difference, i tried some smaller rooms and some bigger ones, and while it may be possible to build good tracks in small rooms by being creative, i'm definitely having more fun in our larger rooms (living room and kitchen).

Honestly, the limitations caused by having to stick to real world physics might actually turn out to be a positive aspect for me, i really dislike the glider and antigravity gimmicks of 7&8. I guess with the flat tracks the game will feel a lot like the SNES and GBA games.

@Faintfiend
I'll personally just go into a local electronics store on release day and Hope for the best.
People made a big paranoia out of having to preorder Mario 3D Allstars, but every store here in Germany had like 50 copies on shelves at release, and they always had it in stock afterwards.

Re: Video: 17 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In October

As i said in the news about the new Mario Kart Live commercial, i'm very interested in that game, but the lack of splitscreen multiplayer is really difficult to swallow for me.
Should i buy it at launch and just hope for an update that might never happen, or should i wait and miss out on something that i would probably also enjoy as a single player experience? (I like Mario Kart Grand Prix modes)

I always wanted to play a Ys game and Orangeblood looks interesting, too, but it's always the same with RPGs, i make slow progress, then i get distracted by work/vacations/other games, and in the end i don't finish them.

@Savino
The Switch's Bluetooth can connect to 8 Joycons at once for 8 player games (Super Bomberman R, Smash Bros, Arcade Love Plus Pengo!), which includes sending different rumble information to each of the 8 Joycons, so i don't think that's a limitation.
It can clearly send and receive data to and from 8 devices at once, so 4 Joycons and 4 karts should be possible in theory.

In practice, things could be more complicated because the video data, and to be honest i don't understand enough about the technology behind this to know if there could be a technical bottleneck because of the size of the video data, but in theory, it should be possible.

Keep in mind that in 2/4 player splitscreen, each picture only takes up a half/quarter of the screen, so the Switch would only need to receive a picture in a half/quarter of the resolution.

There could be a broad variety of concessions that could be made to limit the data that has to be send/received, like allowing only one Joycon per player, deactivating rumble, or, IF the game runs at 60 FPS, lowering the framerate to 30 FPS so only half the number of pictures has to be received from every kart.
