The Switch eShop isn't short of shoot 'em up options, though Ratalaika Games and developer Petite Games are offering another slice of retro-styled action with Super Destronaut DX-2, which arrives on 2nd July priced at $4.99USD / €4.99.
Like the original, which struggled against the competition a little in our review, this leans heavily on Space Invaders-era aesthetics and gameplay. It lacks online leaderboards - perhaps understandable at a budget pricepoint - but promises 30 challenges and 5 different arcade modes.
As a low-priced bit of pew-pew fun it may be tempting; let us know if you're considering picking this up at the end of the week.

As a fan of the first installment, I wonder what they could possibly add to justify it being part 2. The first one already has everything such games need.
First one was decent but as stated above, it's hard to see what more they can add. Either way, once you've got Space Invaders Extreme, it pretty much renders any other take on SI irrelevant.

Never played it on DS, only experience is with the X360 version - seems a perfect port of that.

This is a game I loved on my 2ds. It was good, simple fun. I will probably get it if only to play it on the big screen.
I'm sure this is solid like the first one, but now that we have the real thing with Space Invaders Invincible Collection/Space Invaders Forever it's somewhat obsolete.

I did, but it was very very busy last time I checked in, I prefer things a little smaller. I mostly hang at shmups.com, there's some cracking threads on classic/2D gaming there. I do miss WOS though, had some fun on there.
