I Am Setsuna was pretty neat. I felt that the story, and the snowy landscape combined with the all piano OST to give the game a real soul. I did not appreciate the lack of ambition however.
Lost Sphear didn’t seem to improve on the problems with Setsuna, and stripped out that which made it beautiful. It seemed very generic frankly.
This time I am sold on the art, as well as the ambitious gameplay. I will be importing this one!
The thing about this year is that they could announce literally nothing new, and so long as every 2019 title is on schedule I’d say it was a terrific direct!
I am excited that this game seems to be getting a decent reception from these comments.
But man I just don’t see any appeal. The only thing the first game had going for it was that there weren’t very many 3D platformers these days. All they had to do was tighten up there last game. This just looks... so average
Honestly THQNordic is my favorite non-Nintendo developer. I think I own half of their releases on the system. Their schedule alone has made the Nintendrought bearable
@60frames-please yooooooo!!! I have asked this question all over the internet and I always get the same answers (things that always end up on “hidden gem”lists) but this is fantastic. You’re the best!!
I have Fire Emblem and Shovel Knight preordered. There’s a lot of Okay/good looking stuff between now and FE, but i think post e3 we will see a bunch of Amazing things coming
I too just picked up an old GameCube on he cheap! I’m dipping my toes in all sorts of games I’ve never played before. Luigi’s Mansion, Fire Emblem Path of Radience, and Skies of Arcadia are the big ones.
I also have the Lord of the Rings games, Twilight Princess, and Soul Caliber. I would take kindly to suggestions on further acquisitions!!!
(Although please don’t say Eternal Darkness or Pikmin, I am familiar with those games cuz the internet. Lol)
The original is one of my most favorite Wii U experiences. I'm disappointed that I've not gotten a chance to play it again since release. Hopefully it too comes to Switch at some point.
I’ve been wanting to play this game for years. I might actually pick it up before Odyssey.
To people saying that other outlets have been giving it a negative reception and calling Nintendo Life’s credibility to question. This is a different build from the other reviews. I’ve not played it yet, but the big issues that seemed to plague the PS4/Xbox release (which got a lot of 7’s regardless) seem ironed out. An 8 is a good score, but just good.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Hey, I just wanted to say that I appreciate your input on this website! I know you have a bad rep, but I think that's just in the day and age where loving something makes you a "fan boy" and disliking something makes you a "troll"
I feel like you have strong opinions that are you'it's alone. And anyone that says you're still a hater is like a person who says the Switch has no games. They just aren't paying attention
FIFA is an interesting litmus test for Switch. I think if anything it should show us who beyond the typical Nintendo crowd cares about this dang thing.
EA has another game FE (not Fire Emblem haha) coming early next year. It looks a bit more like something Nintendo fans might like. @anti-matter this looks like a game I think you'll like a lot https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=N1tin-oga7c
@rjejr Morphite is another example of a game launching on all other systems day and date that was unable to hit the Switch on time thanks to the Unity issues. It seems to be a real problem.
@Anti-Matter Hey so I remember seeing trailers for Poi in maybe April, and I was very interested. It's unfortunate that the timing is so close to Mario, but I'm still interested. Did you play Freezeme on Wii U?
Honestly I see a lot of people wanting a GTA game instead, but this is the perfect choice for me. I don't care for open world mayhem, but this game has a story that sounds really up my alley. I may very well consider it (even if it's the same day as Rime)
I might be the only person not asking for the virtual console right now. I think it's part of their plan to court developers (indie or otherwise) on their systems. You know what I mean? Nintendo definitely has a reputation for being the only one whose games sell on their systems, and maybe they think that having the virtual console is going cause Nindies to be more cautious. I don't think I Am Setsuna would have sold as well if people could download Chrono Trigger. Likewise if I could just download Galaxy 1 & 2, I probably wouldn't be so anxious to play Yooka Laylee. I guess I do still want it eventually though
I'm really into these Rabbids. I've said since that trailer that the Rabbids humor has grown up considerably (although they still do toilet jokes) I'm laughing consistently in this game
@jariw I would very much like that list! I just feel like I don't need new trailers for those nindies they revealed last time, you know? A short trailer could be cool if it has a release date.
I'd love to see FE and Morphite get mentioned, and surprises!
I'm nervous that Nintendo fans just don't care for Sports games. Which is fine, but I would be sad if it justified companies being wary of Switch ports
@sybno1 hey dude, I was just going through the same thing. I was caught off guard though, because o was under the impression that we were getting a traditional direct ala E3. But we have plenty of titles to at least potentially release in 2018
-Kirby -Yoshi -Possibly a Fire Emblem (it was announced for 2018) -Pikmin 4 is coming -Pokemon might be here -Metroid Prime probably won't -Retro's game ought to show up eventually And I predict that Smash will be their big 2018 game, but I have no confirmation of course. I also believe it's likely we see an Animal Crossing announced any day now, hopefully alongside that mobile game.
We also know that Shin Megami Tensei is coming. Dragon Quest XI (eventually) No More Heroes was announced. That Project Octopath Traveler.
I was hoping for more of all that. But I suspect we will get a direct in either September or November to really dive into what's coming. I'll bet it's great
I've always held that the GameCube/PlayStation 2 was the golden era for gaming. It felt like the best mix of technology and price, it also felt like anyone could make a game and that elusive "middle tier" was in high form. I miss that
@Alikan I guess Rabbids doesn't do it for you? I do feel like that's the weakness with the one big game every month. If you don't like one you're just a little bit screwed. Pokken being the follow up is also a little disappointing.
Actually I responded to my thoughts on the current eShop as a little disappointed. However that changes in a month. There are over a dozen games I'd like releasing Between now and November
@Equinox what do you mean? This isn't a school yard bully. They aren't out to get anyone. They are a business, doing things that businesses do, they will release the game when it's ready on a system that they know has a lot of interest in playing their game.
@ban I read all the comments, and I was so excited that no one had responded to him yet. Just let it happen, he isn't wrong.
Yooka Laylee looks great, I'll play it whenever it comes out! Also tweet at Nintendo to get a dev kit out to those Hat In Time people. I want a Switch version of that
Well now this third part situation with Nintendo is sort of a self fulfilling prophecy, in regards to cynicism that is. We used to get games Day and date on the GameCube but nothing moved back then. Wii and Wii U are stories oft told, but if we don't buy a game because it came late simply because it came late, that sort of proves developers right? Then they can say it didn't move. That's not to say you shouldn't get games on other platforms first if you want to, but it kind of sucks to say it didn't come out on time so I don't really care anymore.

Re: Pokémon Was The Second Most Pre-Ordered Title At GameStop During E3
I only preordered Spyro. I already had Fire Emblem.
I also had Shovel Knight preordered, but the date has been pushed back once more, so it is cancelled for now. I do hope it comes out before September
Re: The Entirety Of Witcher III Will Be Squeezed Onto A Single Switch Cartridge
LMAO!!! I preordered Spyro, and it’s 60$ and I’m mostly sure I have to download ⅔ of the experience.
This Witcher 3 deal is kind of blowing my mind
Re: Spyro Reignited Trilogy Is Coming To Nintendo Switch After All
I don't know how this was my favorite announcement at the Direct, but here we are
Re: Feature: Nintendo E3 2019 - What Are You Hoping For?
I want Spyro on the Switch, and nothing announced to be delayed. That would make a good direct
Re: Learn How Death Is Tied To Life When Oninaki Releases On Switch This August
I would have bought this if it came out before E3, butnit seems the second half of this year is too darn full
Re: Limited Run Announces Multiple Physical Game Releases For Nintendo Switch
Night in the Woods is a must have.
Between this and Gods & Monsters, all Nintendo will have to do tomorrow is show off previously announced titles and I’ll be stoked
Re: The Nintendo Direct Presentation For E3 2019 Will Be About 40 Minutes
The thing about this year is that they could announce literally nothing new, and so long as every 2019 title is on schedule I’d say it was a terrific direct!
But also please give us Spyro
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 8th)
I just finished the first Luigi’s Mansion yesterday on my new GameCube. It was my first dip in the series.
So long as it’s hooked up, my plan is to play Twilight Princess again.
Re: Rumour: Spyro Reignited Trilogy Targeting A September Release On Switch
I want this more than any other game

Re: THQ Nordic Will Reveal Three New Games Over The Next Three Days
Darksiders 2 is basically a lock.
I’d also like to see Biomutant announced and the third is a wild card.

Re: EA Has No Plans To Release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order On The Switch
LMAO! Because Fifa 2018 didn't sell 10,000,000 units?
Get real
Re: Nintendo Download: 28th March (North America)
THQnordic's stunt on 8chan makes me want to pass on their games for awhile. Which is a shame, Darksiders is one of my very favorite series.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Be Concerned About Google's Play For Gamers?
@carlos82 Longer term EVERYTHING will vanish
Re: Surprise! There's A New Nintendo Direct Coming, And It's Due Tomorrow
@Zuljaras Holy Heck, if it was the Darksiders Collection I would lose my mind. That is my favorite series!
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Shout out to Oxenfree! I’m finishing my second play through
Re: The Fall Part 2: Unbound Is Set To Take Over The Switch This February

Can't wait for this one though

Re: Poll: Surprise! A New Zelda Is In Development, But What Do You Want From It?
The BotW style seems to me to have diminishing returns returns. But let’s meet in the middle, new mechanics in a smaller more realized world.
A story where interesting things happen, as opposed to alluding to interesting things that already happened
Also some non breakable items. Open up the enemy types

Wait, LA Noire, Rime and Bateman are the same day???
I guess this is a good problem, but I hate this!

Pikanuch
That's not how you spell it, but my pants have officially been charmed off
Re: Mulaka Will Bring Its Weird Running and Intriguing Premise to Switch in 2018
A lot of folks obviously will be talking about NMH3 but this one was the highlight for me. I love the aesthetics

@Ralizah But that list is almost depressing. That's the same line up from 6 months ago
Re: Nintendo Confirms a New Nindies Showcase Presentation for 30th August
I'm so glad this is happening again. The last one was such a nice little surprise.
With that said, I won't be impressed if we see Yooka Laylee. I still have a lot of good will, but just tweet a date and bring it out yo!
