Re: Switch JRPG Oninaki Gets Gorgeous New Screenshots And Character Info

I Am Setsuna was pretty neat. I felt that the story, and the snowy landscape combined with the all piano OST to give the game a real soul. I did not appreciate the lack of ambition however.

Lost Sphear didn’t seem to improve on the problems with Setsuna, and stripped out that which made it beautiful. It seemed very generic frankly.

This time I am sold on the art, as well as the ambitious gameplay. I will be importing this one!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 1st)

I too just picked up an old GameCube on he cheap! I’m dipping my toes in all sorts of games I’ve never played before. Luigi’s Mansion, Fire Emblem Path of Radience, and Skies of Arcadia are the big ones.

I also have the Lord of the Rings games, Twilight Princess, and Soul Caliber. I would take kindly to suggestions on further acquisitions!!!

(Although please don’t say Eternal Darkness or Pikmin, I am familiar with those games cuz the internet. Lol)

I’ve been wanting to play this game for years. I might actually pick it up before Odyssey.

To people saying that other outlets have been giving it a negative reception and calling Nintendo Life’s credibility to question. This is a different build from the other reviews. I’ve not played it yet, but the big issues that seemed to plague the PS4/Xbox release (which got a lot of 7’s regardless) seem ironed out. An 8 is a good score, but just good.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Hey, I just wanted to say that I appreciate your input on this website! I know you have a bad rep, but I think that's just in the day and age where loving something makes you a "fan boy" and disliking something makes you a "troll"

I feel like you have strong opinions that are you'it's alone. And anyone that says you're still a hater is like a person who says the Switch has no games. They just aren't paying attention

Re: Nintendo Switch Surges in Japanese Charts as Fire Emblem Warriors Makes Debut

FIFA is an interesting litmus test for Switch. I think if anything it should show us who beyond the typical Nintendo crowd cares about this dang thing.

EA has another game FE (not Fire Emblem haha) coming early next year. It looks a bit more like something Nintendo fans might like. @anti-matter this looks like a game I think you'll like a lot

Re: Feature: Five Things We Expect From the Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase - Summer 2017

I might be the only person not asking for the virtual console right now. I think it's part of their plan to court developers (indie or otherwise) on their systems. You know what I mean? Nintendo definitely has a reputation for being the only one whose games sell on their systems, and maybe they think that having the virtual console is going cause Nindies to be more cautious.
I don't think I Am Setsuna would have sold as well if people could download Chrono Trigger. Likewise if I could just download Galaxy 1 & 2, I probably wouldn't be so anxious to play Yooka Laylee.
I guess I do still want it eventually though

@sybno1 hey dude, I was just going through the same thing. I was caught off guard though, because o was under the impression that we were getting a traditional direct ala E3. But we have plenty of titles to at least potentially release in 2018

-Kirby
-Yoshi
-Possibly a Fire Emblem (it was announced for 2018)
-Pikmin 4 is coming
-Pokemon might be here
-Metroid Prime probably won't
-Retro's game ought to show up eventually
And I predict that Smash will be their big 2018 game, but I have no confirmation of course.
I also believe it's likely we see an Animal Crossing announced any day now, hopefully alongside that mobile game.

We also know that Shin Megami Tensei is coming. Dragon Quest XI (eventually) No More Heroes was announced. That Project Octopath Traveler.

I was hoping for more of all that. But I suspect we will get a direct in either September or November to really dive into what's coming. I'll bet it's great

Re: Playtonic Gives Update On Yooka-Laylee For Switch

@Equinox what do you mean? This isn't a school yard bully. They aren't out to get anyone. They are a business, doing things that businesses do, they will release the game when it's ready on a system that they know has a lot of interest in playing their game.

@ban I read all the comments, and I was so excited that no one had responded to him yet. Just let it happen, he isn't wrong.

Yooka Laylee looks great, I'll play it whenever it comes out! Also tweet at Nintendo to get a dev kit out to those Hat In Time people. I want a Switch version of that

Re: RiME Will Arrive on Nintendo Switch in November

Donutsavant

Well now this third part situation with Nintendo is sort of a self fulfilling prophecy, in regards to cynicism that is.
We used to get games Day and date on the GameCube but nothing moved back then. Wii and Wii U are stories oft told, but if we don't buy a game because it came late simply because it came late, that sort of proves developers right? Then they can say it didn't move.
That's not to say you shouldn't get games on other platforms first if you want to, but it kind of sucks to say it didn't come out on time so I don't really care anymore.
