Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 23rd)

I restarted Pikmin 3! It's absolutely wonderful, but I do wish I had the option to play 1 or 2. Until that day however I will just play 3 over and over!

I am also beginning Eastward. It's a slow start but Sam just ran away and it seems like it's about to get gooooooooood. Have a good weekend y'all!

This information would be easier to understand if there was a chart that Sega could put out. It could maybe list each version on top and then the y-axis could list the features. Then the grid at intersecting points could have a ring to display which features belong to which version of a sonic statue.

I think this would go a long way towards displaying all.of the versions and all of the ways I am potentially overspending on something so simple

Re: Feature: Which Is The Absolute Best Nintendo Console Generation?

Honestly it is probably the Switch.
I have SO much Nostalgia for the Wii U/3DS era - it was the directs and simple fun (which contrasted so heavily with what the rest of the industry was doing) that kept me so engaged and made me the Nintendo fan I am.

GameCube/GBA does have a string of bangers though, if I had any nostalgia for that era I'm sure it would be in my top.two

Good morning my dears, this weekend I am playing Triangle Strategy!! Oooohhhhh

It was slow. The characters were kinda bland. The world seemed to big for me to grasp really. But then in chapter 6 things got real! Something happened to my brain and I began to agonize over every choice I was making, never before have the consequences of my actions in a game felt so weighty! I am beyond hooked, and I don't care how much more I have in this game - it is the only thing I want to do

Re: Review: Horace - A Heart-Warming Nostalgia Trip And Must-Play Masterpiece

I bought this game finally after Super Rare published a physical copy. I certainly get the appeal and there was more than one emotional gut punch. I had to quit at the TV station though, it's just too hard. I know I'm not the best game player anyhow but I cannot overstate how thoroughly this game kicked my butt.
Lovely story though, great music to boot

This past week I finished Contact on the DS, it was a delight but it was far shorter than I had been led to believe. The other game from last week that I had believed I would still be playing this week was Horace, I am not playing Horace... That is the hardest game I have ever attempted and I'm just too bad at it.

So this weekend I am replaying Ori and the Blind Forest!!! It's such a perfect gem of a game

Re: Talking Point: Should We Still Be Pre-Ordering Games?

Donutsavant

I actually preorder as a way of budgeting. I will.start to slowly pay for a release I know I'm going to like (or think so at least) months in advance as I drop by GameStop on my way home from work I'll dip like 10-20$ in a pay period. Then when it's time to pick up my new game I'm not out any consequential amount of cash

@wazlon Darksiders is one of my very favorite series! And I am excited to see someone else give it a go!
The first one does.start off slowly, with lots of big action sequences, but you do eventually find yourself in the Zelda-esque dungeons. If you enjoy it I hope you dive into Darksiders 2 next, it is even better!

There is certainly a theme with this week's picks for me and that is "games inspired by Earthbound." Lol on the Switch that looks like Horace (the game this site gave a 10/10) and while the gameplay is not exactly something I would typically find myself drawn to, the story has kept me hooked!

On the 3DS it's all Contact - a game I know literally nothing about other than it's connection to Earthbound, and also that it's a Suda 51 game

Ok so on the Switch Front I think I finally have the juice to finish Skyward Sword, I think all I have left are two dungeons so baring some Wind Waker esque triforce hunt I might make this a priority!

Over with me 3DS though, I'm trying to get into A Kappa's Trial. It's cute and so very Nintendo - but I am so so bad at it!! Lol has anyone else played that one?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 5th)

I did pick up Triangle Strategy yesterday and I do plan on jumping into it as soon as I have at least and hour to give to the dang thing - but I have a feeling this weekend is jam packed so my video game time will be little more dictated by what I can squeeze in

I think I'll likely play more Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (which is my favorite in the series so far! The portrait mechanic is so fun!) and some Stretchmo! The latter is on of the best original games Nintendo has made in the last decade - I hope it doesn't die on the 3DS

I am replaying Steamworld Dig 2 as I continue to evolve and appreciate Metroidvania as a genre. I always loved this game but this is the most fun I have had with it!

If I can pull myself away from that I will continue to chug through Skyward Sword. I had been mostly positive on it up to this point, but I believe I have passed the halfway point and now there is a lot of back tracking that's left a bad taste in my mouth

Re: This Official Nintendo Direct Infographic Showcases All Its Reveals

It was fun that so many people got their random "this would never happen" announcement (like Strikers, or Live A Live, or in my partners case Chrono Trigger) but other than Klonoa I'm feeling underwhelmed by it.

The two things I really wanted were those rumored Batman Arkham ports, and am announcement of a Nintendo game that wasn't multiplayer or a huge RPG, and it seemed it was almost exclusively those two

Happy weekend you Nintendo Switcheroos!

This last week I played Aria of Sorrow all the way through. I was worried at first that I just didn't get it, because it is supposed to be one of the best and it just seemed... Fine? But I grinded for like an hour and the last two hours of that game really came together brilliantly!

This weekend I'm going back to Skyward Sword. I was a bit drunk last night when I went back to it, but it fit like a glove. Now I just have to get through the work day....

I'm going with Ty the Tasmanian Tiger!!! This first game is excellent in the way that only game from this era were. I'm looking forward to booting the second one up immediately afterwards

I'd also love to get lost in an RPG. I am technically playing Dragon Quest 7 but it's just... Fun to play in episodes? But then I end up putting it down an hour or so later
