Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 6th)

I wish I wasn't still stuck on Darksiders 3. I've been playing it for months and I am ready to finally finish it.
But I spent all day grinding in the Crucible for an armor set so I guess it's my own dang fault.

Otherwise I'm just grinding away at Dragon Quest 7. This does it for me in a way XI never did and I can't explain it yet

@clianvXAi I have two things going for me that makes that score ring a little less true.

1. Darksiders is my favorite series and this is an excellent entry that Ive wanted since it was announced.

2. I don't get bothered by slowdown and there is quite a bit in the game. It's not too bad in many places, but certainly in some places it can be. I think it lands in the "miracle port" tier with Witcher and Doom

Re: Soapbox: What Makes A Game A Good Metroidvania Anyway?

@NRLPLSTCTY I far prefer the second one!! I think it could be the expanded move set, or else I was just more comfortable with the controls and game feel once I began the game instead of having to wrestle with the learning curve.

I've been meaning to revisit these two I should try to do so and keep what it is you've said in mind

The Ori games are the ones that made me fans of the genre. Before that I had only dabbled in Early Castlevania and barely touched a Metroid (other than my repeat attempts at Super which I cannot play)

What attracts me to this "genre" is the same thing that elevates any work of fiction that draws me in (Avatar the Air Bender/Full Metal Alchemist/Lord of the Rings etc) and that X factor isthe world building. Singular levels could never make me feel like I exist in a place, but the best of genre applies the learned skills and experiences of the world into world itself. That's beautiful and uniquely Castletroid

Metroid Dread as I imagine everyone else is... But I have also been enjoying Darksiders 3! I am blessed with the inability to notice performance issues and so far it's the series I love so dearly.
It's arrival as a full fat port (with a physical release!) The same week as the Kingdom Hearts games release as their cloud versions is the chefs kiss!

Re: Nintendo Infographic Shows Every Game Featured In September's Direct

Well hey there, it's me again - overly picky gamer girl. Soooooooo this is is just pictures of the direct! They used to build out a schedule and sometimes you would get sneak announcements or confirmations for other games we knew about. I came here looking for some news about Outer Wilds, but I understand that I set myself up for failure here huh?

I took some time off of video games for personal reasons, but I'm baaaaaaacccccckkkkkk baby!

Last night I finished No More Heroes 2, and it has honestly sat so well with me that Im willing to give three a shot. Travis is growing up!

I also am starting Moon: Remix RPG, which has always intrigued me, and I'm looking forward to something unlike anything else I've ever played

I had been waiting for Ys 9 for nearly 3 years and now that it's here I am loving every minute of it! And yet... I've also never wished for a Switch pro more than I have now too. It does not run altogether too well.

I'm the portable sphere I am finally digging into De Blob 2 but the DS version! The two console versions are some of the most charming platformers around and the DS game seems to be a similar experience in 2D. Wish me luck!!
