Some Nindie games, courtesy of the development tools now available, deliver a grandeur beyond the resources sunk into the project. Based upon the initial trailer, Mulaka could be one of those games.
Check out the description and trailer below.
Battle mythical creatures, solve puzzles and undergo magical transformations in this lush action-adventure, inspired by northern Mexico and the indigenous Tarahumara culture. Mulaka launches on Nintendo Switch in 2018 with exclusive features and functionality.
It looks rather impressive; we'd suggest it's certainly one to watch closely for next year.

This looks interesting.
Interesting
Lots of potential, love ambitious indie games. Not in love with the artstyle, but I won't care if it makes good on it's promise.
A lot of folks obviously will be talking about NMH3 but this one was the highlight for me. I love the aesthetics
I'll be keeping an eye out for this one. It looks really good so far (the running is a little odd though).
Looks great, love the aesthetics. The only thing that ever so slightly disturbs me, is the lack of any actual feet on the main character.
I like this.
Edit: yep I enjoy/love the nindie presentation. Lol!
Looking forward to it! A 3d action game, with giant monsters and a cool overworld with things to do! It puts Shadow of the colossus in my mind, with snippets of Guacamelee (but in 3d) and Mario Odyssey (why not?).
A good cocktail to be sure!
This was my favorite surprise of the showcase. Also, the last time we got a Mexico-tinged e-Shop game (Guacamelee), it ended up being one of my absolute favorites, so I'm optimistic. 😁
This looks really intriguing and yeah the way he runs cracked me up. I like the shapeshifter aspects.
Wait... it's a runner?
Best new game showed in my opinion. I love the fact that it seems to be this massive world. Can't get enough action adventure games in my book.
Really reminded me of Mark of Kri, which I know is 15 years old but Sony just showed it off 18 months ago so I thought more people might mention it.
Great looking game. Hopefully it delivers, because it looks promising.
I need games like this on my system.
I kid you not, I actually came up with an idea for a game like this years ago but with a different art style. This is hands down a day one purchase for me!
Interesting looking game but yeah, that running animation...
Amazing walking animation!
Other then that the game could be good.
